Part seven is finished. It’s a nice, action-packed chapter with a character departure and multiple reunions. It’s got some serious opportunity for tragedy, too, so tread lightly. It’s also quite branchy, which was a pain to manage, but I think it all fits together quite nicely.

Great update as always. Now that I’m thinking when we get the update :“The only thing they fear is you” .
It remind me of this achievement we get in ITFO:" Let them hate, as long as they fear" after we outpowered/outmuscled and kill that Mozorof knight in the skirmish in Krorid.
Reading, catching up, and enjoying. Gotta say the image of Whiskey walking into their apartment, killing a bunch of guys, gearing up, and then burning it down as they leave was epic! If I had any drawing talent I would have to work that scene out in a little comic.

So my MC is about to sleep with Shōnin and I have the choice to pick I haven’t slept with anyone since Ulysses or it’s still been about a year since your last fling but neither one of those is true because my MC slept with Driver.

You lower your rifle and dig into your pocket. The chopper, uncontested, continues to unleash hell on your poor, beleaguered vehicle. The air is full of lead. The bursts of the machine guns are wild and frenzied, designed to suppress and destroy your mobility.
You know you cannot match the firepower of the machine guns. Your rifle cannot stand up to their hail of automatic fire.
(This is if you use the grenade against the helicopter. The rifle is mentioned even if you don’t have it. I think you can’t actually have both the grenade and the rifle at the same time.)

I haven’t had the time to catch up until now… A lot of badass moments, Shōnin was definitely not what I expected (in a good way), and I’m enjoying all the Nora content ^^
Also, I am a fan of all the different POVs. The way you weave those of “common people” from the edge of the story to a more significant part in the narrative is really nice, and in this wip in particular they add to the cinematic feel. Excellent update(s)!
Executed with impunity, as always. That’s going to be some very long day for our heroes, that’s for sure. Kids to pick up, parties to crush, apocalypsies to stop… Now I also need to get some courage and look at the bad options at least with one eye and through code so I won’t cry too much.

I have tried to present the most tempting targets for the grenade throughout.
This is because sleeping with Driver failed to set the variable that’s checked for in that scene. I fixed it, but many old save games that originate from before the fix won’t have the variable set.

i especially loved the brief talk between uly and shōnin! I was wondering how you were going to make it in character since they’re both such self-assured people (uly’s too crazy to back down without a fight and shōnin’s too “I always get what I want” to sell out whiskey to save himself?), and the resulting magnetism of that scene was very amazing.
also laughed so hard at the ”I make minimum wage” part. people who don’t get paid enough for what they do seems to be a theme in this story LOL
