Vendetta (WIP) (Ash + Rin Hangout Updated on 20th August 2024) [384K Words Total])

Hey, arent you the author of A Royal Affair? Hope you check the Vendetta WIP as well.

Ps: I loved that you allowed the MC’s bodyguard’s gender to be player determinant. Your game was fun.

Is Ash a stoplight when the MC goes near them? She seems to keep getting red even at the slightest breeze of the MC. The MC could sneeze at her and she would still blush because she knows there are MC particles in her face now.

The game keeps on telling you just how rich you are. The MC just keeps thinking how wealthy their family is. It makes me want to roll my eyes. Wealthy people aren’t constantly thinking just how wealthy they already are.

It does? I never got that impression.

@Cornelliau I liked wearing Balenciaga. It is my birthright.

I mean I’d think about my wealth till I got sick of doing so :money_mouth_face::smirk::joy:

One reason why they are doing it could be:
MC was living the early years of their childhood with Victor as a normal, middle class family so it makes sense for them to still be somewhat awed with the wealth of their family.

Gotta say I really like the shadow power. You can summon a shadow hound that is fairly intelligent. Then there is the scene when you save the child and their mother when your shadows give her bag back to her. I like to think of the power as shadow speaking rather than control as they seem fairly autonomous.

Maybe a mix between giving shadows sentience and shadow talking, unless the shadows in Vendetta is a living breathing thing lol

Oh yeah probably more bringing them to life. Found another line that I think helps my point when killing the police guy. It says “the shadows, which are like an extension of your body and senses by this point, immediately understand what you think of” if they have to understand you they are not being controlled as such just listening to what you want them to do

The bully says “simp” !?( ゚ー゚)

Oh yeah. Don’t worry, the MC gets to use ‘simp’ too when referring to people in a party or “sycophants”, a word that’s used A LOT.

I also realized that I’m reading another Wayhaven-esque IF.

Hey pal, if you have suggestions or comments to make regarding a game, it’s possible to do so without being a jerk.

Feedback is okay, but grabbing a cup of coffee that had a little too much sugar and dumping it onto the employee’s head isn’t a good way to go about it.

They seemed fairly polite to me. Calling something cringy isn’t that much of an insult, it’s often just stating a fact. Personally, I find the bully scene very excessive in how it was written: it felt like a way to make Ash look good, stroke MC’s ego and show everyone he’s better than deepfried seaweed, for people tremble in his presence, and for that it made almost every character feel like an american high school caricature. Thus, I’d call it cringe first and then expand my point.

You are implying Vendetta is similar to Wayhaven? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Seems like alot of people has been calling alot of IFs to be similar to Wayhaven when it really isn’t.

Gotta move on from that noise since people already went through this for the first 3 WH books.

That’s my understanding of what they’re saying although I’m not sure I understand how. They’re very, very, very different books in terms of plot and writing style.

Because Wayhaven is the origin of all IF games :joy:
In all seriousness though I asked for clarification just in case I misunderstood something. I don’t want to start the age old hot debate of whether an IF is Wayhaven-asque or not.

Not true. Probably the most popular IF for CoG and Hosted Games but that’s about it.

(I think they were being sarcastic.)
