YAY!!!
Huh… Cool! Who counts as henchmen? The only ones I can think of are Dino’s crew… Maybe you can PM me about it?
@Shoelip No big secret–Louis Campanini is the first, when you take over the Poolroom. It was going to be the case only if you made use of him to help kill Joey DeGrazio . . . but he becomes more involved regardless as time goes by, so I decided to include him anyway. The other two are the (now named) bouncers hired when you open Gina’s Speakeasy–again, because they also become more involved in things later on. Dino’s crew are the final three from the Demo chapters.
Hmm, that’s got me thinking actually. On the subject of Dino & his boys . . . Would it be better if these became Henchmen at the point where he finally concedes and calls you “boss” rather than only at the end of Chapter Two? It would of course mean dropping them from the list again if at that point you then choose not to go with him & his guys, but that’s an easy enough tweak. Or would that confuse things too much, appearing and then disappearing like that?
I thought of a idea. The amount of Henchmen would increace the money you get from rackets
@Vendetta it would make sense because he then respects you as a leader of the crew when he calls you boss not before.
@Zach That’s part of the plan, although in typical Vendetta fashion it won’t be quite as simple as that.
@Zane Yep, that’s what got me thinking on the subject–as a player it would probably have me wondering why they weren’t classed as Henchmen at that point . . .
Wait a sec…Leadership and Business combined for racketing.I AM RICH!
@Vendetta I like it how it is actually. Dino is finally giving you the “boss” respect but even its written to make me feel I haven’t accepted that yet. You pretty much just stall and tell himto lay low. Then you accept leadership at the chapter end, and he’s an official henchman
@Raven That was, in a nutshell, the original thinking behind it. So long as it doesn’t cause confusion (“He called me ‘boss’, why isn’t he a Henchman already? doh!”), but I guess that’s pretty close to the end of Chapter Two anyway so a few pages of confusion wouldn’t hurt! Hehe.
didnt the other two guys pretty much already consder you the boss before dino does
@Matteller It would be fair to say that Dino’s cousin, Emilio, certainly saw only good things coming from you taking over at least the planning of heists, but his loyalty to Dino comes first (as evidenced if you fail to convince Dino to follow your plan for the department store raid–Emilio knows it’s the best one, but he still sticks with Dino when you get up and walk out). Until Dino himself concedes leadership of the crew, his guys will stick with him. They figure they owe him that much at least.
Does Angel count?
@Aznxa Hmm, good question. She does in Chapter Three at a certain point, but that scene can actually be reached whether or not you rescue her from Bianchi’s clutches, so the real question is should she count after setting the bomb in Chapter Two? Thoughts?
She stole your bathrobes so I think not
@Zach ( :-)) ) She takes a memento only if she leaves . . . If she gets to do the bombing, she doesn’t leave.
@Eriedanna Neglected to mention, this update includes a fix about being railroaded into doing the department store raid with Dino’s crew just because he agrees to your plan . . . It’s now optional.
I know I went down that path a lot of times
How to do liigis book job
@Vendetta I just replayed and noticed that part, thank you! That always bugged me a bit.
Dino seemed rather upset with me when he left, and his friends are still alive to back him up, so do you think he’ll be a threat to the player character later on? He’s not powerful or very smart, but he seems like he could stir up trouble at least.
Anybody reading Sun ken Rock manga?
I recommend it to vendetta it seems like a good guide to how built a good Mafia.
Respect the Boss before he kicks you to infinite :-))
