It’s just really existing for me to talk about my world and story, since I spent quite a bit of time with refining it and working out the details of my world. Will the various races be restricted at all in the magic they can learn, for example are the more esoteric Magic’s of the elder dragons only for the Dragon MC?
Yes, some of the playable races will have certain restrictions regarding the magical arts (some more than others). The races mostly affected by this are the Kitsune, the Raiju, the Grey Wolf, the Sinari and the Soulmancer.
Ah, I believe there is still something I have to explain further. The elemental powers of the Eight Elder Dragon’s are their own natural powers and have nothing to do with magic. Their elemental powers are basically similar to the pyrokinetic powers of the Kitsune or the Cryokinetic powers of the Grey Wolf. Each of the Eight Elder Dragon’s represents one of the eight core elements (fire, water, air, earth, light, darkness, space and time) and they are insanely powerful in the use of their respective elements.

Is there a strongest race? Or are all races ‘balanced’. Because it seems to me that the dragons are the strongest race out there.

Hmm, thats actually a rather tough question to answer. There isn’t really one single race that can be considered as the strongest, neither is there a race that can be considered as the weakest. Almost all races have their pros and cons, their own strenghts and weaknesses. However, it is still true that there are races that actually can be considered as stronger as a majority of the supernatural world. Though, it’s a rather large number that falls into this category. Also, all of the playable races fall into this category as well.
Thats only partly true. While the Dragon’s are definitely one of the stronger races of the supernatural world, they aren’t that single strongest race out there. There are still other races who can be considered as equal to the Dragon’s, like the Soulmancer for example. Also that is something I should have probably mentioned before, the Eight Elder Dragon’s are a one-off a kind case. No other Dragon’s have the same powers and capabilities as the Eight (well except for their offspring maybe) and most Dragon’s probably wouldn’t even come close to their power level. The only Dragon’s who might come close (but only barely) to the power of the eight are such legendary Dragon’s like “Yamata no Orochi” or “Zmey Gorynych”.

Probably.
Yes they are, which can be accounted to two important factors, their ancestry and the training they received from their mother. However, it is also important to note that the MC still has a long path before them until they finally reach the full potential of their inherited powers or until they get even close to the power level of some of the heavy weights of the main cast, like their mother.

Sorry to dissapoint you but no, they can’t. I don’t know if I mentioned this already, but this isn’t one of those typical hero stories. The MC isn’t some allmighty choose one destined to save the world or some savior designated to keep the balance between light and dark. They are just a ordinary supernatural who got lucky in the genetic lottery and inherited the powers of someone extremly powerful. Of course this still makes them special, just not in a overly superior way. There are many characters who are stronger than the MC who will be way out of reach for them powerwise and while its true that the MC will get stronger throughout the course of the story they will probably never reach the same level as some of those characters and beings since they have centuries, if not even millenia, of experience on their side. I mean half the main cast and ROs could probably wipe the floor with the MC without them being able to do anything against it. Of course none of them would do anything like that.

No, actually I was hoping the Mc wouldn’t be that strong. It wouldn’t really make sense if they were stronger than someone who has centuries of experience.
