Thank you so much! I’m really aspired to create a main character that people can immerse themselves into, hopefully I can keep doing it.

Quite often, at least in my point of view. I’m planning for them to do a concert in Manchester (where the band are recording their demo), which most likely will be on chapter 5. And as you write more songs and the date of the album release is closer, their schedule will get more intense and that means more concerts! As for how many, specifically I can’t tell, but it will be more often after the band got their contract because finally it will be the one thing they do for a living. :grin:

…let’s just say it will depend on what choices you make throughout the story.

It’s not even necessary that these are big concerts. It would be nice to see a scene with a few drunk friends and gatherings with an acoustic guitar around a campfire, well, or something like that. In any case, I wish you success and look forward to continuing!

Hi there.

Just a quick update about the progress of chapter 4. Currently it stands at around 45.1k words, and I’m in the middle of adding some finishing touch on it.

I should’ve finished it like two days ago, but unfortunately I was uninspired and unbelievably in need of sleep in those two days and ended up only writing like 500 words :rofl:

But I’m determined to finish it this week, so please bear with me.

Chapter 4 Update!

Alright so… it’s been awhile, more than awhile in fact. But I’ve finally finished chapter 4, at least for the most part.

This chapter was a tough one, mainly because I planned so many things to go in one chapter that it ended up become a real stress to just sit down and work on it.

At first I planned it to be around 40k words or something, but guess what? I ended up writing 85.5k words.

And the best part of it? This chapter isn’t actually finished yet!

There are some branches that I planned to write, which you’ll find out, that I just haven’t finished yet mostly because I’m so done with this chapter and can’t wait to move to the next one just so that I can finally be freed from the amount of words in this chapter I had to endure.

Because of the yet to be finished branches that I mentioned above, this chapter most likely only have like… 70k-75k words of playable content instead of 85.

In this chapter, you will record two more songs, meeting some new faces including the 4th RO, and decides an important choice for a member of your band.

In total the entire thing stands at around 153k words (140k-ish, for the playable part).

Much like the last update, my way of working often sees me jump from one part to another whenever I’m stressed out. So if there’s any mistake that you find along the way, feel free to let me know.

I was part of a rock band for a short period (a long, long time ago), but wasn’t for me (I guess I’m too shy). And your work reminds me so much of that time! I really like our characters trying to convey their feelings in lyrics and how the songs tell us a lot about the cast.
I was so resolved in romance only Gia to avoid drama and Paul breaking my heart. But the last update
with him singing about his promise with the MC and the fact that we can start a fight with a rando just to protect someone who doesn’t even like us anymore was so good - this is something I like to do with my MCs. I like to make my MCs fools with soft hearts and no sense of self-preservation.
Now I’ll have to create another MC to romance Paul - I like how furious he is after the rando who my MC tackled was going to beat her, and after that was like “We aren’t even friends”. Asshole. Oh, on the next update, I want so much to see Gia worried about the MC and Paul’s reaction to this. (I would love to see him jealous cof cof).

When the band is recording the demo, Tom say to my MC that she wasn’t good as always. Does this mean I failed a stat check? I’ll try again in another playthrough.

Yes, it does. I try to imply whether the MC’s vocal take is good or not through the characters comments right after the vocal take is finished. So, yeah, always pay attention to what your bandmates have to say!

Hopefully it’s fixed. Thank you for pointing it out!

Hey I think what you have is interesting and fun and I Love band stories cuz I love music. But I literally had to stop playing when it said my mc didn’t like/listen to punk music cuz I chose indie as my favourite genre. I was, ngl, high key offended hdksdhk

Having one genre as a favourite doesn’t mean you don’t listen to anything else.

Could you perhaps change the narrative to include this? It doesn’t seem too hard to do so. Cuz as insignificant as it seems, as a rock fan I can’t continue playing with that narrative.
