Totem Force [Released!]

Did it? Or did a character in the game tell you you were evil?

Hmm… Interesting… :smiling_imp:

It was the game. I think the first one told me I had 29 Darkness (high score at the time)

If they’re equally bad options, then there’s nothing to really think about. Just pick the one on the right without putting too much thought into it, since as they’re equally bad there’s no downside to picking one over the other. At least this way you can get straight to work trying to fix the negative outcome since you didn’t waste a whole lot of time angsting

I’m guessing that response would net me darkness points

…Will you do it like Mass Effect Kaidan or Ashley or Life is strange Chloe or the stupid city ?

Well, if they where “kill best friend1” or “kill best friend2” or “explosion of that hospital full of kids, elders and pregnant women”?

Flip a coin. If heads, BF1. If tails, BF2

Really, you are greatly over complicating this

Less than half as me? I think this game is biased against me…

@May_Rinn We need the Green Goblin. Sacrifice Kay, Totem, and Sammy to save the city or have Lani like you and sacrifice the above mentioned without saving the city.

Also option 1 my friends would mean more than random people any day :innocent:

And where does that equate to “evil”? :innocent:

Remember, 29 was way back in the olden days when there was a lot less content. At the time, 29 was one of the highest.

Don’t play loophole lawyer with me unless you know how to block lasers with those objections[quote=“Dark_Stalker, post:1249, topic:15440”]
Also option 1 my friends would mean more than random people any day :innocent:

My friends don’t really mean much of anything to me. I’m pretty convinced that my Schizoid character was just using them as cover.
Now, if it were between Anara and a town full of innocents, there still wouldn’t be any problem. Anara comes first. Always.

Theoretically around that time you already could have a score around 60-70…Some people did (even when it started as just for the lolz)

Maybe worse like Sophie’s Choice? Or the one in inFAMOUS?

Oh so genocide breaks your character. You’re a tough cookie…

@Interestedparty For me it’s more like the only consequences are what happens to my friends. He wouldn’t be sad at all if they died but he’d try his hardest to save them.

I think I have some idea what you are talking about because I read your Gay Representation thread. As for Safe Haven I only ever got a little bit into the demo so I didn’t check out much of its thread, but now that it’s out that’s what I’m planning on reading next after Totem Force…

With regards originally planned orientations, did you have planned canon pairings at that point as well? If Chi was the canon gay guy, did he have anyone available around?

It’s happened to me on Choice of Games once before. In A Study in Steampunk I fell totally head over heels for Chase, who didn’t even like the main character :disappointed:

Is that a challenge? :persevere: Just you wait till you have a “Make Karl Gavin Cain That One Guy a Main Character and Romance Option” campaign on your hands. You haven’t seen excess yet. :triumph:

Why would I willingly talk to her? :grimacing:

Maybe so, but I still want to know who she had in mind :stuck_out_tongue: why, was it nothing but people who she’d consider worthy but not “too good” for him?

It’s nice of you to raise that, but I just read Urban’s comment as falling along the lines of things like “she’s so awesome she challenges my sexuality.” Which is basically what’s happening to poor confused Tonio.
It probably doesn’t help that “love” can mean so many different things and carry so many different connotations.
Tonio will adore her and want to be with her for friendly :hugging: time but without romance.

Maybe after all this I will play again while romancing her, but I think I would rather play a girl to do that.

If Tonio could have his dream it’d be a kissing pose with both Sammy and Phil on either side and Anara next to them with a chess set
(If Phil would be shirtless again in Tonio’s dream team pose that would not be a problem)
But what is this kissing pose? I don’t think I’ve been following the thread long enough to know the reference.

Poor bees :disappointed: (Or should that be “poor ParrotWatcher?”)
In addition to generally liking arachnids, I’ve always been a major cephalopod fan. I have an “all about me” book from when I was like five in which I said I wanted to have a pet octopus. The “T” is TSSL stands for “termite” and the first “S” is squid.

Well, you asked for it…

Just got through chapter 7, the ending of which was rather… wow. Or possibly huh.

You refer to “the non-inclement weather” which strikes me as redundant… you could just say “the clement weather.”

I got worried when Totem talked about the possibility of something bad happening to their body which would probably do something unpleasant to them… I can’t imagine this would bode well for Blaze. I am scared of potential foreshadowing.

I was really tempted to go with pajamas, but I didn’t.

Lani considers to flabbergast me, but at least she makes me laugh. Scot’s brother, he just… doesn’t matter? So harsh!

Aw, Sammy just want to be special too  Blaze must show him that he already has the potential to be special in his own way.

Ms. Tennyson seems awfully unfazed and friendly. I like her.
Her comments about Kay’s secret crush do read in a different light when she’s talking about a gay boy, though. I realize the game doesn’t know if Tonio’s gay or bi, but it does seem like there’s sort of unfortunate implications if she’s urging Kay to go out and pursue what she wants when the guy in question isn’t into girls. Because other than that, her talking about Kay’s crush in front of them, while embarrassing, was super-funny.

(For that matter, I wonder if Lani was surprised at all that Tonio wanted a boy for his date, but when it comes down to it, seems to me her biggest gripe would be which boy he chose :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

Oh, gah, have to pick whether to save the father or the many many innocent bystanders? Gotta be the bystanders since there’s so many, but way to pile up on the angst fodder.

You describe “four more monsters, just as apparently immotile.”
As far as I can see, the word choice isn’t wrong, per se, but “immotile” did feel a little off. After pursuing my suspicions with a quick google check, it does look like “immotile” is mostly used for microbes and cells and stuff like that. Depending on the implication and register that you want, “immobile” or just “unmoving” might be a better fit.
I do like the monster humming to the muzak.

During the robot arm confrontation, Tonio decided to just go up and up and up, and my goodness did you succeed in writing a freaky description of what he sees there.

So back home you refer to “Phil and Kay’s mother,” which is ambiguous phrasing because it could refer to “the woman who is mother to both Phil and Kay” or it could refer to “Phil and also the mother of Kay.” Since as far as I understand, both characters were present and were planning to defend people?

When you choose whether to trust Dr. Vylka, you can trust, or not trust, or be unsure and also not forgive her. Why wouldn’t it be possible to be unsure whether to trust her but still be willing to forgive her?

When the Major tells Tonio not to go into that safety hatch, and it’s like, would he really expect Tonio to listen… you know, given his abysmally low will, maybe he would :stuck_out_tongue:

And of course, then I get to the end of the chapter.

What the what the?

…Stats are all back to the beginning.
So here I’m wondering if this is like a dream within a dream? Some sort of dying vision? Or, considering how Totem communicated through a dream at the beginning, maybe it’s another manifestation of dream superscience communications? I’ll just have to find out…

Who is this Tonio everyone is talking about? I don’t remember them from my playthrough…

Tonio is my main character specifically
Edit: And Blaze is his nickname.

Well, I wasn’t sure whether to make it “marketable” (i.e. to put the MC with Anara), or go with what my heart told me (put him with Chi) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Fortunately, now both get to be canon.

Hey, if you’d beaten @idonotlikeusernames’ call for Phil, maybe. But, I’m afraid it’s a bit (as in: very, it was in post #248) late by now.

Probably people like Scot, to be honest.

The game pretty much assumes everyone’s bi… I’m generally not a fan of actually asking the player their orientation at the start, and trying to figure it out from your flirting would be rather hard…

Huh. I though I had checked that one…

That you will, my friend. That you will.

so… Phil wasn’t included in RO list before? :scream: Im so glad @idonotlikeusernames has asked for it!! :joy:

Well, I just asked if there was anyone that players would want their MC’s to romance. I wasn’t even certain I’d be making Sammy an RO back then (and when they were both requested, I had to stick in Lani, too, just so that there weren’t twice as many boys as girls ).

Oh, so you also had a character in the place now occupied by the player? Did he have a name?

I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of the marching band and skywriter I’ve hired for the campaign. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Though I’m having some trouble getting the skywriter to get his name right :slight_frown:

Fair 'nuff.

Well, from what I gathered, it is the right meaning, it’s just usually used it different contexts so it stuck out a bit.
I could be wrong on this, though.

'Tis what I get for coming in when a story’s already far along :stuck_out_tongue:

im coming in quite late myself, though im lucky enough Phil already added to RO list (sorry for not noticing you before Phil :sob:)

Satoshi; the protagonist of SAMABT was named after him. It would have been set in Japan (despite the fact that I’ve never visited, which is one of the reasons I ended up sticking it in not-America instead), and Sammy would have been called Yuki. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Sorry. To be fair, with Phil your MC has a legitimate method of getting in contact with him. With Cal, not so much. But I’m certainly planning on mentioning his heroic adventures in at least some endings. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
