To Feast on Fear 26k| A Gothic if based on the beast of Gévaudan

Normally really picky about gender locked because, well am not simply “girl”, but the concept and shit of this too good to pass up just because can’t be trans or any of my other gender shenanigans, and like “girl” is close enough can deal with it for a good cool story

Thank you for giving it a chance, seriously it wasn’t just a thoughtless whim that I made MC a woman, so thanks and enjoy :green_heart:

This was fantastic. No notes. Need more before I can try to begin doing a breakdown.

Such a great start! The transformation scene was gross  but really greatly written!

The MC is graceful and cute. Bad things happen to good people. But I hope she will overcome this nightmare.

This was so fun and intriguing to play!!! Thx so much! And you’re writing style is so good!! I

love how you added some moon/winter symbolism (And pls correct me if I’m wrong abt this) to the MC in your descriptions as a way to build up to MC’s transformation. Thx!!

Thank you some much guys, I’m really happy my story has been to your liking as it has been to me :green_heart::sparkles:

Sadly it is true, but we will see her journey trough this together, I’ll try to not make her suffer much…

This is really great so far, I’m certainly saving this one to my all time favorite.

I especially like how you describe the process of the change, and it happens every full moon? time to just out myself to Sebastien and get this whole thing over as soon as possible at this point.

And you can be a semi serial-killer-against-your-will thing in this game? If I had a nickel for every time that happened in choice of games, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

A wonderful terrifying story and the description of the transmutation was horrorfying amazing to read (I’m still shuddering ) I love the story about the Wolf and that we even can be the one. Your writing style is amazing and I love to be a locked-female in it

I wish you the most fun and the greatest ideas to continue your beautiful horror-romance story. I’m looking forward to more :hugs::pink_heart:

Thank you for your interest in my story :green_heart::sparkles:

Well yes and no…strong emotions can trigger the transformation, also if you just tell Sébastien her might think MC is way too cray cray and mock us, even worse thinking of MC as another fool that believes in curses and magic…

Whaaat which is the other one, I would love to know! Also I can’t really say much about that…you’ll need to discover it for yourself.

Aww thank you :green_heart::sparkles: that was my favourite scene to write even I felt that as it had been me ad that’s when I thought well it is well enough to get a reaction out of someone reading it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: And I had to use a my trusty thesaurus to get this out lol

You’re too sweeet, thank you I really hope to get ch1 as soon as I can, I want it toooo

There used to be a WIP called “mass mother murderer” where you are straight up an evil serial killer, but I was thinking “A Study in Steampunk: Choice by Gaslight”.

It’s mostly a side plot from what I remember, where you can use blood magic to heal others or drain people of life, but if you do that a lot to kill people it became addictive, so something similar to vampire I guess, spoiler below for the plot.

Summary

In one route you pretty much became Jake the Ripper and starts to do vigilante killing all over London, and either gets kill by your best friend/RO after they found out to protect your reputation and the city, or kill them in self defense instead and lose control over your power, and starts killing randomly and in turn gets killed and framed by the actual Jack the Ripper, who’s a better blood mage than you.

Going down that route pretty much locks you out of the final acts of the game since you die an early death either way, the only way to avoid it is to cure your addiction earlier if you start using blood magic to kill liberally. I do like the game progression of using magic to heal → use it for self defense → drain someone else and use it to heal another → vigilante killer → serial killer progression, even if it’s not a fully realized route.

Still a classic if a bit unfocused and predictable, I like the start of your story much better if anything.

If you guys wonder about the serial killer IF called Mass Mother Murderer: It’s called Pernicious Panacea now and it fully released in the Tales App. I enjoyed it but didn’t enjoy the Tales App itself.

Right, it’s pretty much a finished game even when it was on here as a demo, so I was lucky enough to play through it to the end.

But didn’t Tales went under and the App isn’t even available now? maybe now it’s a lost media of sort. Hopefully Samuel can port it over to Twine, but the chances are low when The Nascent Necromancer is already a spiritual rewrite of that work anyways.

One Knight Stand has a serial killer background, but it’s more of a targeted vigilante killer from what I understand, still a great work and everyone should try it out.

So yeah, this game is still the most promising currently if you are looking for that sub theme, if not ever, on here.

As a fun fact, did you know that in the original Dracula Novel by Bram Stoker, Dracula could turn into a wolf? I think thats really cool and also very ironic at the same time. Just wanted to share this cool fact! Thx!

Well thank you for catching on those lil details which you are correct about, as I said there are some slight details I enjoyed to sprinkle in about and I hope to continue for the rest of the story

Yeaaaah that’s so cool! also he can turn into mist, which is not scary if you think about it but the implications of it are scary, like you couln’t hide because he would come in anyway, I have read the novel and other bunch of gothic horror novels lol thank you for sharing :sparkles::green_heart:

Maybe the original Dracula had a lot of extra abilities and powers becuz of him knowing magic??

In the novel Van Helsing theorized that Dracula may have learned magic and been a sorcerer when he was human at a school of magic before becoming a vampire and that he also was most likely a very strong warrior.

So I guess maybe Bram Stoker had something of a backstory for Dracula that he never fully finalized. Becuz we never learn how Dracula became a vampire, and he’s clearly much stronger than the other vampires in the novel.

Srry for the long comment.

Btw I love how your writing style is so interesting to read. Each option is very intriguing and makes each different type of mc’s personality fit in so well with the setting.

Thx! :heart::heart:

This is an amazing start and I am very much looking forward to every update. Also enjoying the focus that a set female mc allows, which would be hard to navigate otherwise. My introduction to the story of the beast of gevaudan was actually an episode of Puppet History, which has shall we say quite a different tone. But it was a fun starting place for a wiki walk that made this WIP catch my eye.

Also I normally have my female mc’s romance other women but I decided to roll back a save to check out the guard romance scene and I’ll just say I’m looking forward to meeting the good doctor and our rival noble!

Oh right! Magic could be a really good explanation, black magic! I would have loved to read something of Dracula’s origins

I don’t mind, I loved reading it! actually even made me want to reread the book lol

Awww thank you so much:sparkles::green_heart:, I really appreciate you guys saying that of my writing, I’m a little self conscious about it, I also love to maybe abuse of purple prose but it’s so beautiful!
