Their Majesties' Pleasure—Revel with royals, rogues, and Fae!

Weird quiestion: is there any way to get hi-res version of cover art? It gets cropped everywhere I look, so I can’t get a good look for Edenia and Galen

If you tap the titled cover art in the Heart’s Choice app it will show you the full cover art. Don’t know if it’s the full resolution though.

This works in the COG and HG omnibuses as well.

I bought it in Steam.

Thank you very much!

I’ve done all the routes, and everyone one of them is really good. You will enjoy the Edenia/Galen route

Good to know! Thank you!

Yep, I absolutely enjoyed it. I loved how they have their very distinct personalities, and you are getting to know one, then another, then both of them.

But you can have sex with them both very quickly. Sex is it’s own thing!

List of “gosh, they could be RO” characters so far: Bera, Mia, Jesme  Dale?

Okay, first of all, feedback on the game. Very much enjoyed this one. Personally I find it very hard to romance the royals (I think its kinda unprofessional) but once I got over that I was very much a fan of the poly route with the Prince and the Rogue.

Second, why does Heart’s Choice seem to be kind of the dirty little secret of CoG? It might just be because I’m the only one who goes to the actual website to check for newly released games, but besides the blog posts there is very little mention of Heart’s Choice games. CoG and HG each get their own category tab on the main website with every game released, why not Heart’s Choice? Or am I just missing some very obvious link somewhere?

I got back into ChoiceScript games after several years away and it took me a couple months to realize they’d started a new imprint. I agree Heart’s Choice needs more visibility. I assume some of that’s going to come naturally as HC comes into its own after a shaky start during the pandemic, but I agree they should add a tab on the website, at least. Honestly, although I understand why the subsidiaries are separate, I think it would be beneficial all around for there to be more cross-promotion among them.

Heart’s Choice has its own website rather than a link on the Choice of Games site: https://www.heartschoice.com/

That’s fine, but it’s very easy to visit the CoG website and never even know that Heart’s Choice exists. I’m surprised there’s not a prominent link, at least.

Honestly, I have to echo Aletheia and Lance. I was pretty curious when the imprint was announced back in 2019 I think, but honestly at one point I assumed it was quietly shuttered until someone here recommended Brimstone Manor and I was surprised to learn that the company had been releasing games under HC this whole time. I’m not sure if there’s different rules or regulations with promoting this sort of content compared to content found in Hosted or main-line games, but it is surprising to me that there appears to be very little to point people towards the label.

As far as I am able to tell, there’s no link to Heart’s Choice through the main website. I don’t have social media, so I’m not sure if that’s true on the socials either. It just seems a little odd to have such little public connection to Heart’s Choice, is all.

I don’t know if there’s a reason why the HC site isn’t linked on the COG one, it’s something I can ask about. But HC games do get the same promotion as COG ones in terms of our mailing list and social media - Heart’s Choice has its own social media profiles, but I believe the COG accounts generally also share the announcements. But if you’re not on social media or the mailing list and you’re mainly checking the website directly, I can see why that would be an issue. yeah.

Greetings fellow fantasy lovers! I’m the humble author of Their Majesties’ Pleasure.

Huge thanks to everyone who has taken the time to try out the game and comment here! Let me see if I can reply to a few of you…

Same! I wish we could all meet at the market and talk about the game over some scrumptious food, or maybe at a revel with some cherrywine or spring water.

Thank you so much!

I’m so glad you feel that way! I wanted the relationships to have depth, as well as plenty of spice for those who like that sort of thing.

This art is spectacular. It really captures the essence of the characters. Gorgeous work!

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the game!

Thanks so much!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! More fae shenanigans. Noted.

First, I’m so glad you enjoyed the game! Second, I wanted to acknowledge the feedback to select pronouns and anatomy separately. This was my first game and writing m/f/nb options was as much as I was comfortable with logistics-wise. The more variables, the more complicated the code gets. It isn’t perfect, but I did my best to make the nonbinary descriptions to work for most anyone, and hope players can use their imaginations to adapt any descriptions necessary to fit their personal preferences. Thank you for playing! I hope you feel heard.

This makes me smile so big. Thank you! So glad you had fun!

I’m so glad you feel the poly/monogamous choices were handled well. It was super important to me that the relationships felt natural and communication was clear when it came to the romance options.

Also THANK YOU SO MUCH for being a beta tester! I received so much valuable feedback from betas. I’m immensely grateful to everyone who participated!

This makes my writer’s heart happy. These characters are so much fun and I really wanted the friendships to feel genuine. Very glad to hear that was your experience when you played!

I can totally see that initial impression. I’m glad you got into the fun-loving spirit of the game and enjoyed the poly route with Julian and Javier. I find their relationship so dynamic!

I’m positively beaming from this review. Thank you so much!

YAY! This is so fabulous to hear. Thanks for sharing!

Yep. All of those. But Mia and Jesme… Is it wrong to fangirl my own characters?

Whew! I hope I did that right. I don’t know how active I’ll be in the forum, but I’ve been working on some worldbuilding blog posts I’ll share soon with maps and character details, and everyone has been so nice in the comments that I had to acknowledge how much I appreciate you! :raised_hands: :sparkling_heart: :raised_hands:

Welcome to the forum! It’s always nice to have authors among us, and I know I’m excited to hear what you have to say about your worldbuilding, your characters, and your journey writing for Heart’s Choice.

Pass the chocolate pastries, Mother Serena!

I liked the game quite a bit, but I wish there was a bit more with the fae. Doing the fae paths feels kind of like “do plot with royals, booty call, go back to plot with royals”, while the paths for the royals feel like they’re more of a part of the story just because you’re around them all the time. Still liked the game, but I wish the fae romances felt like more of part of the story.

Does anyone get the “Befriend the Hunter” achievement? My MC hangs out with the fae as much as possible, but still fails to get it. Any help will be appreciated.

I got it, but I’m not a code diver, so can’t tell you what the trigger is. Did you talk alone with Jesme at the revel? I think that’s what got that achievement for me.

I didnt hang out too much with fae, but I did talk with Jesme alone at the revel, like @AnneWest, and I too have the achievement!

(No code-diver either)

Thanks! I guess this’s the part I do wrong. How can I talk to him at the revel? I keep failing after choosing to dance with the prince, the princess, Galen or even just talk with Galen.

I stayed off on my own and didn’t participate in it. At that point (well, all throughout) in the game I was concentrating more on guarding the heirs than on any of the romance aspects.
