I’ve never actually seen the Underworld movies, so I don’t know for that one But, it’s not much like Twilight (they don’t live in family groups or anything). I’ve seen a lot of vampire movies and read a lot of books, so I think the vampire side of things in Wayhaven will be a mish-mash of familiar things, as well a few fresh ideas of my own! (Supernaturals are a lot more mixed in The Wayhaven Chronicles, and vampires aren’t as common as they would be in other vampire stories, I think).
As for the question about the team and the mother, I’ll let you discover that throughout the story
Vampires can eat human food. As long as they drink blood, they function like a human- a superhuman, but basically human. If they were low on blood, then they might have issues digesting ‘real’ food.
Though, some vamps don’t like the taste of food after turning, because of refined senses and things. So it’s more on preference than trying to look human in some cases
Quick Update whilst I’m here!
I finished writing Chapter 6- it’s not up in the demo yet, demo is still only up to Chapter 3. I’ve just finished writing it, and all the variation scenes are done. Yay! Writing Felix/Farah was nice, they’re more loose to write than the others, so it was a change again in writing, which flexes my skills!
Onto Chapter 7 next, then that will be it for the full demo. I’ll just have to edit and test it, then I can release it. Chapter 7 should be more linear, so not as long to write. Hopefully not too long away now
Adam is really too much but I love Nate even though I act professional. Hopefully I can made him as a significant other or something. I love the story and can’t wait for more!
Forreal? Underworld is pretty good… well the first one is? Your ever seen Queen of the damned, with Aaliyah?
And yeah!! That’s one thing that made me like The Wayhaven Chronicles more than just the plot because normally the vampires are normally the same, I think that’s why I like Queen of the Damned so much (plus it had Aaliyah lol) because they weren’t so I thought that was real cool.
And does that mean the vampire world and their politics, more open like where say a vampire hanging out with another supernatural or so, would that still be a taboo, like in their world are vampire S only suppose to be seen with another vampires?
Oooh, cool. So if I’m out on a date with N or on a "not so date with” A instead of ordering the steak and champagne, my mc ( when he finds out) should just order them steak and a drink of the finest blood the restaurant has, than follow it up with some champagne, right? Lol
Cool I really enjoy your writing! @Seraphinite you the best!
I have seen Queen of the Damned! Quite a few years ago now, but I really enjoyed it
Vampires and supernaturals hang out together all the time, even more so at the Agency.(The Agency Christmas parties can get pretty wild! Especially when half the supernatural agents don’t know what Christmas is!)
There’s no real issues with supernaturals disliking certain other kinds of supernaturals or anything. Some individuals may take issues with certain types of supernaturals, but that’s personal opinions for a character, not a general rule
There won’t be an evil path. I don’t think it would work for the MC in this series, plus I don’t like writing evil MCs. I tend to like karma in my writing, so bad guys end up with bad things happening to them And, that wouldn’t really work for how I want the series to go.
There will be times when the MC can make morally…interesting choices if they want, because not all choices are simple, or even ‘good or bad’.
Speaking of other Agents, can we get any hints on what other supernaturals we might see? More importantly, is there a wolf-man in our future or a swamp-thing?
I am such a sucker for vampires and romances, so the idea of the love triangle is so intriguing. I really enjoyed this WIP. As someone who usually chooses an MC to be gay, I really enjoy reading interactive novels that change the gender based on sexuality (I know it’s not realistic but it’s nice to nice to be immersed in something that gives you more choices).
I also liked how you wrote events that would eventually intertwine with MC (Such as the murder, the aftershock of when MC meets the shadowed figures, etc). I am looking forward to reading more, keep up the good work!
@jaybay99 - It depends on which vamp we’re talking about. M doesn’t like many people in general A (as @idonotlikeusernames has rightly guessed!) also has a rather anti-social view, though they do have some people they highly respect. N gets on pretty well with anyone, as does F. I know that was a rather vague answer, but hopefully it will be answered more fully throughout the books
@Summerbones - Oh man, Book Two is going to focus on a supernatural race I’ve been wanting to write for soooo long. But, I won’t spoil The world of Wayhaven includes familiar supernaturals, such as werewolves, witches, and fae. But, although I will add familiar elements to them, I hope to add new ideas about them at times too (And, maybe throw in a couple of unexpected races along the way…) Vague answer again sorry, I know, but I’m really trying to get better at not just spoiling everything in my excitement to talk about the series!
@InternetGhoul - I’m so glad you enjoyed it I’m glad you like the genders matching the MC preference. The gender switching isn’t very realistic, as you say, but I’m hoping to make this series of books more about enjoyment on a personal level- an immersive experience that people can just have fun with and get away from the real world for a while
@Ekaterina - Thank you so much for trying it out! I’m really glad you enjoyed it
I chose my characters background to be the rebel one where it was either police work or jail, then made him lawful for his stats. Since I think it is a huge development, will any character acknowledge that?
Thank you so much for your support, guys It really means so much to me you have confidence in the series already!
@lightdrago3 - I haven’t got any plans in Book 1 for any kind of conversation talking of the backgrounds, but it’s something that might crop up in discussions in later books. Not sure yet If it does happen, I would hope to add little differences, as you say, such as someone maybe noting how by the book the MC is, considering how they got started in their career (if rebellious).
Quick Update whilst I’m here
Chapter 7 is coming along well. A bit slower than I’d like as I’ve had a lot of stuff going on, but my plate’s cleared a little now so I can get back to it in earnest Hoping to get nearly all of it written this week! (That’s the hope anyways…)
Jeez, I was so into it that I actually got mad when the demo ended It’s really good! The game flows smoothly and it’s a lot of fun.
I normally play as a more calm, friendly and calculated person, but I had so much fun being brash and easily frustrated XD Which is weird since I usually feel extremely uncomfortable picking those choices, (afraid that it’s bad or wrong) yet in this game they came to me so naturally. Probably because I actually felt his frustration and It was hilarious!
It may sound like nothing but to me it means everything. This freedom of personality.
I do not really care about the romances. The characters are very fun to interact with, though. So much frustration on both sides of the team XD
In short: I’m greatly enjoying it! Please keep up the good work~
