I suppose it’s only right that I show my own detective moodboard

Detective SpongeBob ScaredyPants had a rebellious youth, getting arrested for shoplifting and dealing recreational drugs. He lost his job at the local fast food restaurant after an unfortunate incident in which he stabbed his manager in retaliation for confiscating contraband one fateful night. His mother, Rebecca, finally put her foot down and gave Spongebob a choice: enter the police force or spend the rest of his life in prison. Spongebob, realising he had no choice, accepted the offer.
In present times, he’s known for his creative wit, likeability, and disrespect for all authority… not to mention how easily startled he is. Spongebob is instantly drawn to Nate as soon as their eyes lock together from across the room. Will the handsome stranger be enough to rein in Spongebob’s chaotic nature; or will the young detective win out, corrupting Nate forever? Only time will tell…

I love this team Ravi or team Krieger thing going on! I’ve seen both shows and both seem perfect for Verda but I have to say Ravi fits for me more personally. SpongeBob, best of our detectives I’d say!

Go team German clone krieger

I mean… everyone else is doing moodboards so… hops on the bandwagon
keep in mind this is my first one and i’m clearly awful at these

Summary

They like baking, wood carving, camping and crystals (among other things) Their apartment always seems to smell like fresh baked goods and coffee. Likes to read and explore. They’re especially fond of old fairytales, myths and legends. A habit of zoning out. They have a cat that likes to go on hikes and camping trips with them. Is 1000% likely to turn up at your door with soup and a movie if they found out you’re unwell.

Both moodboards I did for my detectives were the first ones I had ever created, and I just slapped something together in Canva. I’d say this board is an improvement because it looks like you actually put time and effort into it.

Okay, last one from me, I promise.

Summary

Background:

Summary
  • Name: Samir “Sam” Parker
  • Age: Early-Mid Twenties
  • Height: 5’ 7"
  • Samir is a people person. He enjoys meeting new people and getting to know them and has a generally kind and soothing presence.
  • Sam is, well, a geek. He likes fantasy movies, video games and, yes, he plays Dungeons and Dragons. What a dork.
  • His relationship with his mother is a warm one, not because Rebecca’s absence didn’t hurt Sam growing up but because he was just not the type to hold a grudge against his own mother. He’s just happy to see her whenever he can.
  • Sam likes Frank Sinatra songs, dancing, sweets, video games, and fantasy movies from the 80’s (Labyrinth is his personal favorite).
  • Sam took a job as a police officer so he could help people. His way with people seemed to fit really well with the job and he enjoyed making people feel safe.
  • He is an optimist and very empathetic person, preferring to lead with his heart over his mind, but he isn’t a push-over either. He likes to work with other people.
  • His mother’s inconsistent presence and father’s complete lack might have left him a bit starved for affection, so he falls for people easily and hard… Including Bobby, a relationship he has trouble not regretting.
  • I’m honestly torn on who is “canon” boyfriend is, but its between Adam and Mason. He can admire Adam’s stoic strength and leadership skills. And Mason… Well, Samir has a bad taste is men, he did date Bobby.

I rarely post on public, but seeing a lot of awesome aesthetic boards everyone makes, I want to have a go at this:

Background/Personality

Young Lucas Greene couldn’t decide what he wanted to do with his life, so he just decided to joined the police force. But if he had it his way, he would party all night, and sleep all day. But he can’t. Which is why being an adult sucks.

If Lucas can be described in a one word, it’ll be flippant. You only have one life - why waste time on being serious and boring? He’s playful and light hearted, and to the surprise to many who later get to know him, is also fiercely intelligent. When feeling bored, (which is often when he gets stuck doing desk jobs), he’ll entertain himself by either making jokes or pulling pranks on his colleagues. Yet despite his flaws, he genuinely does want to help the community, and works hard to make sure Wayhaven is safe for everyone.

His favourite pastimes are drinking whiskey with Diet Coke, playing video games, hanging out with friends, and casual hook-ups.

However, underneath the cheery façade lays a broken man who craves for a deep connection with someone. When dealing with his mother’s absences as a child, he used his sense of humour to quell the loneliness in his heart. Cracking jokes was a coping mechanism, and when he grew up, it was the only way to talk with people. He doesn’t know how to be serious, because he was so used to being a joker it was really difficult to be anything else; thus he couldn’t open up his heart to anyone.

Relationships

Mother - Lucas doesn’t hate his mother; after all, he understand why she wasn’t often there for him like all the other mothers. They do have a loving relationship, but there are times when Lucas wondered had Rebecca put in more effort of being a parent, he may have a much happier childhood.

It wasn’t all bad - in school everyone was jealous of me because you wouldn’t show up for parents meetings. That was my first taste of being a cool kid!

Bobby - Lucas was pretty sure he was drunk the entire relationship - otherwise he couldn’t imagine for the life of him of how he was with her in the beginning. Must be the Beer Goggles effect.

Better eat that makeup to be pretty in the inside as well, darling!

Ava - Well, they do say opposite attract. Lucas does believe that if she shakes off a bit of her sternness and smile more often, she’ll be way more hotter than his celebrity crush Blake Lively. Thus he made it his mission to do whatever it takes to make Ava smile.

Ugh, there are times when I don’t think you’re even human… Pffft! What’s up with that funny reaction!? Hahaha!

Nat - Lucas admires and respects Nat - it’s been a while since he met someone who is so sincere and friendly like her. But he can’t help but worry that she may not be cut out for her work. Well, either way, he wants to help her.

Hey, Nate, serious question: if a snake bits you, would you assume it’s just giving you a friendly kiss?

Farah - Meeting Farah is like reconnecting with a long lost sister. He never met anyone who share so much in common with him! However, he does make sure their relationship is strictly platonic despite all that mock flirting - dating her would be like dating a sister, and incest is a huge turnoff.

I like to think that if we were twins, I’ll be more well liked.

Morgan - Last time Lucas checked, he wasn’t a masochist. But he can’t help but dig the way she ignores him or make disparaging comments about him. Lucas may have the hots for Ava, but he can’t just ignore the sexual tension between him and Morgan. He’s going to do something about that.

You need to get laid. Fast. And I can help you with that…

Only if I get to play too!

Fun Fact: I actually do have a DnD version of Samir who is a good-two-shoes Paladin.

If only it were easy to organise a game and force someone to DM. would be a fun thing

RPoL.net is a pretty good site for that.

Everyone’s invited. the more the merrier~

and ayyy, nice! Same hat, actually. The two characters I’ve shared here, Val and Keiji, are both adapted DnD characters. Val’s a wild magic sorcerer, though they tend to mostly use their magic to aid them in their work as a spy (bless disguise self and charm person), and Keiji’s a chaotic neutral monk

ah yes, the unfortunate player to DM ratio. the eternal curse of DnD

Kay, actually going to talk about the girl, now that I’ve shown her art off a few times.

synopsis

Talia Reynard, who would prefer you call her Tal or just Reynard, thanks, is an academic to an extreme degree. Dangerously intelligent and voracious in the acquisition of knowledge, she epitomizes the idea of a walking encyclopedia. There are few subjects, if any, about which she knows nothing, and she dabbles in a myriad of skills. Literature and linguistics have always fascinated her, and she is often quick to become an early adopter of new technology. She makes a point of researching just about anything that crosses her focus and lingers too long and tries to stay on top of new developments in most STEM fields, even fancying herself something of an amateur programmer.

Despite this, however, school was a struggle for Tal. Her early years were riddled with social problems, as no child likes a teacher’s pet, and the student who always has the answers and aces every test can rarely be seen as anything else. Puberty is, of course, by definition torture, and by highschool, Tal had realized that, with her mother largely absent, there was no consequence to not bothering to try in her classes. After all, without trying, she still maintained a B average. What was the point in putting in enough effort to get As?

College was where she finally began to excel. There, the material was (at least more frequently than it had been) engaging enough to hold her attention. Her instructors more frequently treated her like a peer rather than a child, a superior performance actually provided her enough meaningful benefit to inspire her to put in a little effort, and she genuinely felt like she was learning, something that had not been the case in a very long time.

Tal is, aside from her technological indulgences, largely a practical woman, direct and austere, and her heavy reliance on logic and the ability to detach that comes with that has enabled her to deal with the uglier side of police work. However, while she has gone through the necessary training and is reasonably fit and a passable shot, she is only that; the physical is not and has never been her forte. An introvert by nature, she has largely through experience mastered at least enough social grace to move through most situations reasonably well, enough to garner little complaint but never enough to be called a master. However, her actions tend to illicit unusually strong reactions from people, as she is on the decidedly forceful side, with a loud and fairly commanding presence.

It isn’t so much that Tal likes being bossy. It’s just that someone has to do it, and since nobody else (capable) seems to be stepping up…

And for good measure…

relationships

Mother: Tal understands why her mother was gone. She really does, and she at least attempts to be understanding about the matter. Nonetheless, their relationship is strained and formal, at best. Tal doesn’t like her mother because, quite frankly, she doesn’t really think she knows her mother.

Bobby: Exists. Preferably over there. Not talking to her.

Adam: Adam is difficult for Tal. (LBR, Adam is just difficult.) On the one hand, she respects his capability, efficiency, and willingness to step up when it needs to happen, rather than simply sitting on his hands and waiting for someone else to do it. On the other hand, his attitude toward her smacks of derision and assumptions of ineptitude, both of which get under her skin. She may be inexperienced, but she is capable, intelligent, and hard working, and his attitude gets under her skin to a distracting degree.

Nate: Nate is a genuinely nice person, and Tal appreciates him for his ability to keep peace with the others. Of all of them, he is the one she is most comfortable having a simple conversation with. However, there is an element of softness to him that worries her, not because she doubts his capability of dealing with the ugliness they keep finding (he has proven there is no need for that), but because it seems to almost beg to get hurt. It’s enough to keep Tal leery and at arm’s length.

Farah: Farah is amusing, and most of the time, Tal manages at least a good chuckle out of her interactions with the woman. However, she is also a little too light-hearted and flippant about everything for the (relatively somber) detective to feel like she can connect with meaningfully.

Morgan: Sometimes, Morgan manages to be snarky in a way that Tal can’t not smirk at. Between the stench of cigarettes and the bad attitude, however, most of the time, she just fantasizes about shoving her in a river wearing stone shoes. She wouldn’t do it, of course, but she definitely fantasizes.

Ash, her cat: Everyone’s life is improved by a ball of hair bossing it around. Tal’s is feline, but she will totally vehemently deny that she perpetually feels compelled to coo and fawn over just about anything with fur.

In my experience DMs either genuinely like DMing or they tried it once and got stuck with it. I’m currently in the second camp with my group, but the best part is forcing my OCs on my poor friends.
