Ahh, feels so nice to think that the demo is not really that far way (though no need to hurry, Sera, take all the time you need!) I will probably cry tears of joy when I’ll get to read more about my detectives and UB and Tina and Verda and everyone again.

It means you get to create a new character without the need to load up your old save. Usually, there are some decisions you need to setup that will be needed to be transfer over Book Two. These are most probably your stats and a new RO if you want to. XD

so if we pick that option, we wouldn’t be able to import our character and transfer our stats?? I’m sorry, I’m really confused 
A pre-made character (I believe) would be a character whose stats and choices (including RO) you would choose in a quick character creator. You wouldn’t import a character, you would be making a new one without playing Book One.

And it probably will be the option we have to choose until the game is complete and published so we can load our saves

This is very important to point out.
Save files are associated with CoG servers via your email.
Sera does not have access to save files.
During the demo process, pre-made characters will be all that’s available, as the import option will not work until the game is officially released via CoG.

Well, I mean, you won’t, but that’s only for the demo.
The full game, once released by CoG, will have importing capabilities.

Sorry if I was clear enough but like the rest said, we will be able to import our saves once Book Two is officially released.
Pre-made characters are primarily made if you are lazy enough to do another perfect run or for those who don’t want to start another playthrough just to pick another RO. XD

I do remember Sera said that although she wouldn’t include breaking up in story you will be able to change your ro at the beginning so if she does include that you can change ro when you load and continue to the next book

Yup, she did!
But of course, it won’t act like breaking up. All the characters, including the RO, will act like you’ve been romancing them the whole time.
The option is literally just to change the RO flag, nothing else.
