The Sword of Rhivenia (Remake) (DEMO UPDATED 04/06)

I feel the opposite. An inferiority complex is far more difficult to handle because no matter what do it will be twisted in Ricard mind in the worst possible way. It will take years with help for Ricard to get over it. And until the point he willing to listen it’s a problem and it will get worse before it gets better. It will mostly take someone dying for that to happen now. At the very least Atheris listen to us and can be talked down. Ricard at this point not so much.

What is it with people pointing this out? It’s a smile. He doesn’t egg them on, he doesn’t escalate it. Meanwhile Atheris beats a writer, who made a silly little play into a bloody pulp.

That is so much worse, in every conceivable way.

Because it show to us and others he enjoys seeing us hurt and the royal family and not united. Enjoy seeing a family hurt seem pretty messed up to me.

You mean the older brother who decided to duel his youngest with real swords in a foreign country was good idea, who seems to decide to buy his people affections with the kings food and is possibly planning a rebellion.

Can you cool it with you hate boner for Atheris at this point? even in conversation that have nothing to do with her you bring her to say you hate her. Like why bring her up her talking about hand sr. lot to lena other than you hat her?

Yep and some people thinks he can do no wrong

He won’t do that.

Even as deluded as he is right now, he recognizes how fucked he would be if he staged a revolution and it failed and it has a very real chance of failing as (in my case at least), the people aren’t all on Richard.

He’s popular, not a genius. It wouldn’t be too hard to find out if he’s doing anything.

He does not need to be smart. Only need a smart people to help him. We have plente of enemeies and all the need ricard for is a puppet.

Which requires him to be smart as well. A dumb person would not know who is valuable and who is not.

Revolutions are a lot more complicated than just storming the castle and yelling “I’m the new ruler!”

It takes time, secrecy, discretion. All very hard to do when you live in the castle where your ruler lives, who you have already made suspicious of you and when you have to constantly look over your shoulder, fearing that said ruler has sent out spies to keep an eye on you.

You can’t get away with it if you have rocks for a brain.

Because when your sibling is surrounded by people actively trying to assault them, smiling is rather worrying. He’s either A) taking pleasure in your pain. Or B) (and more likely) enjoying the fact people are harming his sibling in his name rather than caring his sibling is being assaulted.

Atheris has issues, but hell, she lost her temper at the writer of play that more or less smeared her family. She was provoked and lashed out. She’s not trying harm you, her sibling. She doesn’t even enjoy suggesting harming Richard, only doing so out of concern for your safety.

The smart person comes to Richard. Offers him a deal. Ricard goes to the city monthly them meet then. All Richard has to to is give him information. Richard is a figure head. The smart person does the work outside the castle. There is no information network. Plenty of time to set up a rebellion in secret away from the castle.

Please refrain from arguing or insulting people. Flag or ignore and move on without engaging!

This incident was YEARS before both of the incidents with Richard. Years in which she has tried to moderate her behaviour, namely by listening to you more than to her mentor, who was the person encouraging her to act in such brutal ways.

All while guards are surrounding him. Yeah, because that’s possible. And yes, a smart MC would double the amount of them around Richard.

Where does the game say she is moderating herself?

The only thing I remember regarding Atheris when our MC is 18 is her telling us we should give commoners in the capital, who need food, poison and that I should organize Richard to be killed via accident (which is treason by the way since she’s telling me to get rid of a potential heir of Rhivenia, actively harming Rhivenia itself by limiting the amount of heirs that could take up the throne).

Her actions say it. She comes to you before she does things. When you tell her no, she listens. That is an example of her moderating her behaviour, rather than storming right ahead and doing it anyway. She is trying to improve. Richard is letting himself get worse.

Fair, she is trying to improve and I commend that. But that little “accident” thing made me look at her in such a worse light.

Gerard meanwhile in the background, sweating uncontrollably because my MC wrote an essay in the past about granting a vassal independence while plotting their doom.

That depends entirely if you need Xavier being a traitor to achieve your goals. I’m intrigued by the MC/Clara/Lena poly. So serving up Locke as King Charles V the torturer of Xavier that you had no responsibility to makes a perfect scapegoat
