The Sword of Rhivenia (Remake) (DEMO UPDATED 04/06)

That’s less because of one person and more because that’s simply how the system works and breaking it means you’re fair game for a lot of nasty stuff from everyone.

Do we even really know that? Even her brother says nobody has any clue what she’s thinking.

I mean…her father was killed (deserved and she didn’t really care about that I think), her brother is under hostage (someone she clearly cares about) and she is kept under constant surveillance by the man who made it all happen.

Pretty sure she ain’t exactly in despair over Rhivenia getting invaded.

For all we know she’s just happy her dad is dead and she gets to reign unopposed.

Maybe, maybe not. But it’s just a theory.

I fell like she would easily fall for traps other tatcians do she is too short tempered to see the whole picture

That is my concern as well.

Would she be a good warrior? Most likely.

But a person with known bloodlust and anger issues? Leading soldiers? Yeah, hell no. If I gave Atheris a regiment, they would be lost faster than I could blink.

So who else would think it would be hilarious to see Lena and everyone else’s shocked expressions if we do give Lena her brother back and grant her kingdom’s independence?

Oh me definitely. She just tries to make such outrageous demands all we say is

“Alright, you got it.” and then followed by Lena growing paranoid as all hells

I think I’m going to be more amused that since she’s an LI, at some point we’ll have the chance to hit on her. So we may have the chance to give back her brother, serve up the knight who tortured him, and offer her not just to rule her kingdom, but Rhivenia as well

Definitely late to this, but the reason I personally don’t hold a grudge against Richard is because he’s clearly been conditioned to have his sense of self-worth and his parents’ love tied to his worthiness of the throne. He’s basically been weaponized by his mother against MC. While that’s definitely a problem in the long term, at least that’s directed at one person and you can likely address it by being civil with him.

Atheris is a whole other level of crazy. Her response to someone mildly insulting her and her family is to have that guy attacked, and there’s no chance that guy would’ve survived if she hadn’t been made to stop. She’s a massive liability, more so than even Richard, since she’s not only just as weaponized as him, but she’s able and willing to do whatever underhanded and downright evil actions she can think of to “protect her family.” Keep in mind, her response to Richard giving food to the needy was to sabotage it by knowingly giving everyone mild food poisoning! That is not only sociopathic behavior, but will absolutely cause major problems when she inevitably jumps the gun and has someone assassinated or brutalized in the streets for having the audacity to respectfully disagree with you. The main difference is unlike Richard, she seemingly sees absolutely nothing wrong with what she’s doing; she’s the worst kind of loyal, a fanatic with her own ideas of what must be done, and that makes her just as problematic to your rule as Richard.

It feels so good to be Clara’s ultimate green flag boyfriend. It feels so cute and loving. I love her so much. Thank you author for such an amazing romance.

But what makes you think that you can’t do the same with Atheris? That’s what I don’t understand. Why are some people so willing to abandon Atheris while claiming they won’t give up on Richard?

And while I don’t agree with what she did, you can’t insult the royal family and expect to get away with it eveytime. If you want to do it, you have to acknowledge the fact that you can be heard by someone who will not react positively.

I won’t talk too much about that event because I don’t remember much of it. I’ll have to reread it. But I do think that what Richard did (challenge his younger sibling to a duel in a foreign kingdom) can be far more damaging for your rule.

What if he did this in your own kingdom? What if you lost too? Also his smile at the end when they threw rocks at you. Dude couldn’t even pretend to be concerned for you.

Anyway I’m not sure that I’m all that coherent. I don’t necessarily think your totally wrong, but I can’t agree with the fact that Richard is less of a liability for your rule than Atheris. At least for now he did everything to make me think the opposite.

WHY? WHY HAS IT ALREADY ENDED? THIS WAS SOOOO CINEMA, I ALMOST SLAMMED MY HEAD ON THE WALL AFTER I NOTICED IT WAS OVER!!!

Jesus Christ man, this is so good. I didn’t play the original, but this one… it’s hard to top. Dare I say, it’s my favorite IF, ever. I can’t wait for more updates, I desperately need to see how the situation with Richard develops.

Man, I cannot wait to meet Lena and see how it goes our “alliance”.

Oh don’t misunderstand, Richard is a major liability, he borders on “send him off to a foreign country to die valiantly” territory, I just think that he’s less problematic since:

  1. it wouldn’t be the first time a rebellious member of the royal family got executed (Not that I want to, but just saying the option is on the table)
  2. he’s shown on some level that (assuming you aren’t a total jerk to him) he does regret what he’s done and would rather not hurt his sibling.
  3. his actions don’t harm random people. Richard’s grudge against you is a problem that could destroy your reign, but at least he’s not to the point of executing peasants because they like you more or something.

The single reason I’m wary around Atheris is because she’s not only totally fine with the stuff she’s doing, but she seemingly likes doing it. If Richard challenges your claim to the throne, then you’ve got a civil war on your hands, but if Atheris keeps taking drastic action that tanks your royal family’s reputation, suddenly you have an uprising on your hands where everyone wants your whole family’s heads on pikes.

It’s like Richard is “I’m sorry, but I have to do what I feel is necessary even if it hurts me” vs “I’ll do what’s necessary and enjoy it” and I just feel personally the latter is harder to manage than one guy’s inferiority complex.

People keep saying this and and the only time she does anything on her own is when she punches the other performers making fun of her family, personally would do the same. Literally every single time she thinks about doing something after she goes and asks you first, she never done anything without getting your permission. Not to mention if you tell her not to she’s like okay and doesn’t fight you on it.

That does not sound as good as you may think. If you cannot deal with simple mockery from the peasantry, something that will surely come your way as a royal then what can you deal with?

Clearly not something that requires you doing anything that represents our family in any way, shape or form. Just keep Atheris away from Rhivenia and things are a bit better.

Hey! It’s been a long time since I’ve worked on it; don’t worry, I’m not going to abandon it or anything; I’ve just been struggling with my depression lately (it comes back every now and then with 10x intensity), so I haven’t been doing anything at all. But I’m getting better, and soon I’ll get to work on it again. I’ll probably make a post on my thread once I’ve got my feet on the ground.

Richard at this point has done more to damage the family reputation.

  • Challenging the youngest and future heir in a foreign nation.
  • Get drunk at the coronation
  • Smiling at us getting hurt
Stop acting like Ricards action are not causing any damage but the most damage to the family reputation.
