The Sword of Rhivenia: Book One (CHECK #3830)

Just finish two runs and… I was so excited to play this game!

In my first run Richard is the king, we have a good relationship and all. And Revna and I are in love etc, etc.

But, I hate Isabelle and love my momma, so, I MUST BE THE KING. In my second run I was choosen, and I found some… Oddities(?) during the choices I made. I still had a good relationship with Richard, but he got angry that I was choosen. And, doens’t talk to me when the girls come, don’t even hug me when I survive the poison. Does that mean when I become king he automatically hates me? (he is a fucking asshole, just like his father) Also, I still try my luck with Revna, and we’re fooling around, but I accepted to marry Lena, and didn’t have the chance to confess my feelings for her? I’m aware theres no chance of poly with Revna, but we just fall apart without even talk? I mean, I was expected some drama but was dissapointed. She she didn’t even come to see me after I survived the poison! I love Revna, but I must do whats best for the kingdom. But I didn’t have the chance to say this? It was like I finish the book without a romance interest. That was a bummer.

Also the people of Rhivenia need to chill.

Richard still likes my MC after she became queen. I didn’t marry him off so that might have affected his opinion.

Edit:

Hmm okay, did you kill Matteo when he confessed to being the poisoner? Not sure why Richard would hate you otherwise if you tried to be friendly.

I didn’t marry him off either. I didn’t even pay attention to Clara, nothing but friendship. But he ends up kinda hating me.

Well, I killed Matteo. Still, I think the timing is wrong. He doesn’t know that Matteo died when I come back cured of the poison. And the text I got was like " ‘I’m glad you’re okay’ Richard says, but his words feel forced." When I wasn’t king and I come back from the poison, we hugged even if I killed Matteo too. And like I said, he doesn’t come to greet me when I become king.

still I don’t really care about Richard, he is annoying and a poor king. Now the Revna part got me really upset.

Can someone tell me who caused the black arrow poison incident

So how does we make atheris a queen? Always support her but still no coronation for her, hope someone can explain in detail

From my understanding if you’re confrontational towards Richard she’ll be picked by the sword.

Sorry to ask, but how can I marry someone? My ROs are Astryn and Revna, but the game stopped when Astryn decided not to kill me and Revna stayed in Rhivenia with me. I cannot marry anyone.

What happens if you let Prince Xavier escape does he become your ally

I am kind of surprised that the game doesn’t do anything distinctive if you name your horse Clara. I figured that Clara and Richard would mention it but it might not have occurred to the author that might happen.

If I’m correct, the second book will focus on family and relationships, so you’ll be able to marry your LI. Specially considering some alliances made through marriage for the upcoming war :grinning:

I loved this game and have played through it several times already.

It’s really great to see how multi-faceted the main characters are. For example, Richard is a good person whose heart is in the right place, but he’s a bad leader. Atheris is ruthless, but is pragmatic instead of a sociopath. She’s also a really good leader.

I ended up liking characters I thought I wasn’t going to like and ended up disliking characters I started out sympathizing with.

But I didn’t really like how fickle and bloodthirsty the Rhevenians were; they just get pissed off and plot rebellion no matter what you do or who the ruler is.

And if they’re never going to be happy with what you say or do, you might as well disregard any consideration for them when making choices.

It’s determined by how high you Leadership stat is as well as your relationship with Richard.

If your Leadership stat is high (65% or 67%), the sword will choose you no matter what.

If your Leadership stat is too low and you’re nice to Richard, the sword will choose him.

If your Leadership stat is too low and you’re Richard’s rival (hidden stat determined by how many times you antagonize him and if you’re trying to make Clara your RO), the sword will choose Atheris.

I think this needs some fixing. For Richard the term “queen” isn’t quite right. I suppose the code only checked the MCs gender or the new rulers gender and it wasn’t considered that maybe the MCs or the new rulers gender isn’t the same as Richards.

(This is my third playthrough where I purposely aimed for not being choosen by the sword.)

Sorry for double posting.

A little bit about my MC:

Summary

This is close to how I imagine my MC to look like (this picture was created by someone else, I can’t use Artbreeder).

And her stats during the end of this part of the game.

Also this is one of the few games where I liked one of the names offered by the author so her name is Leonora.

As for romance: She entered a relationship with Carla and accepted Lenas offer of a political marriage with Lena, and I suppose I will see in the sequel if my MC falls in love with Lena or this will be just purely political (tho I find Lena interesting, she didn’t have enough screen time in this game to actually make up my mind about her).

The heck is wrong with richard.

Anyone have a link to post where all the leadership options were? I remember it was in this thread.

I think Richard is kind of set up to be really disliked from the get go even though I honestly liked him, he was kind to me the whole story(almost), was happy I got the throne, got my back, was always there, the same as Atheris except she was more of the protective type.

But his obsession with Clara is clearly made to be off putting to most Player characters, I wasn’t even interested in Clara at all but he was always kinda mean whenever I interrupted their “conversations” and it was only to talk to him. I was relieved when I finally put not interested in women or her cus it got pretty annoying lol I could see how he could get antagonizing if you’d be interested in her.

His mother is also Isabelle, supposedly making backhanded plans about us to make him the king, or maybe start a rebellion in his name. Some could dislike him for that

The people are always cheering for him even when it doesn’t make sense at all. They want merciful, the PC can be merciful. They want merciless or cold hearted the PC can also be that. It just doesn’t make sense how they always want him no matter what, it’s like we’re made to dislike/hate him for it. For me I didn’t mind them cheering for him honestly but it was weird.

There’s also the forced marriage alliance. I didn’t agree to it, but such an important decision to get an ally is tied to him alone when we know how much he’s in love & obsessed with Clara.

His reactions all the time, seeing if we’re being genuine or not as if we’re being tested… there are probably a few other things too that I forgot…

Can’t marry anyone yet, also you can’t romance Astryn and Revna at the same time, they both don’t do poly so you can only romance one of them.
