Are the houses in this game similar to how they are in Game of Thrones were there are a few Great houses that have multiple small houses following them? Oh and could you tell us a little bit more about the RO’s? Like their appearance & personalities.
I find it sad that the youngest two siblings have some negative feelings toward the MC. I know it’s the second queen’s fault but they played with MC as young children. But I guess that’s what makes them neutral. LOL
I’m glad that we can get Olarion and Ilythis on our side. I would want more friends than enemies.
@Fawkes
In this game, is it possible to (re)conquer Ophaesia from your father/oldest brother by building a power base in your dukedom (as a king’s son, you would get a dukedom (correct me if I’m wrong), and as a king’s daughter, you could marry a duke) and other surrounding dukedoms and/or annexing another country and being the better ruler?
Also is it possible to conquer every country except Ophaesia?
Will we see the father again?
With such delicious drama prospect, I certainly hope so!
Yep. I have a feeling that the treatment of the MC will get worse as he or she ages.

You mean like traditional European feudalism? Because if I recall correctly, Robb had to seek the support of his vassals in his war against the Lannisters as his vassals had soldiers of their own and he needed their men to truly form an army. (I’m quite certain that’s a near-perfect example of feudalism, and it was this system that allowed for multiple armies to form within Westeros. It really undermines the power of the King, as Joffrey pointed out, which incidentally proved to, you know, be a good thing under his reign.)
In any case, no, Ophaesia doesn’t practice feudalism. Ophaesia is an absolute monarchy, and only the crown is permitted to have an army. Ophaesia hasn’t been involved in a war since the early years of King Eraven’s father’s reign so national interest has gravitated more towards the arts rather martial matters. Many noble sons are trained to fight, but that’s more for a masculine vanity and cultural, poetic glorification of war and victory than practicality.
There are houses that are older, wealthier, more influential than their peers, and they may be called Great Houses, but not like the Great Houses in Game of Thrones.

Oh and could you tell us a little bit more about the RO’s? Like their appearance & personalities.
There are nine ROs that the MC can potentially be involved with for the long-term (and some other characters you can be involved with temporarily before the relationship ultimately ends). I looked them over, trying to figure out how much information I can give away without spoiling anything. I should be good to list their first names, orientations, and a few other details.
So, the nine ROs:
- Kaedra - female, noble, bisexual. Fair skin, very dark red hair, grey eyes.
- Atheron - male, well-bred, straight. Tanned skin, black hair, black eyes.
- Senetha - male, bisexual. Sun-kissed skin, golden blond hair, blue-green eyes.
- Pythia - female, bisexual. Brown skin, dark brown hair, one blue eye & one green eye.
- Nethica - male, noble, straight. Deep olive skin, black hair, dark blue eyes.
- Mavrys - male, noble, gay. Sun-kissed skin, light brown hair, hazel eyes.
- Jasiphae - female, noble, straight. Pale skin, pale blonde hair, pale green eyes.
- Iseriah - female, noble, gay. Sun-kissed skin, black hair, brown eyes.
- Sebriel - male, bisexual. Brown skin, black hair, black eyes.

Ophaesia’s peerage isn’t the same as the peerage in England; it’s considerably more simple. If you’re a noble, you’re a lord or a lady. There are no other titles, which was a very deliberate decision made by Rithalus with the intention of keeping the nobles on equal footing and therein prevent any one house from potentially rivaling the crown’s power. (The nobles, as one would expect, found ways to circumvent this, though it has for the most part worked.) A house’s status isn’t determined by their power but by their wealth, their pedigree, their land, and their political influence.
Now, in regards to your character consolidating power within or without Ophaesia, I can only say so much without spoilers. One thing I can say for absolute certain is that Seven Heirs is not a game where the focus is on conquering countries. Not to mention that conquering countries is bloody and nigh impossible, especially when the countries are as well-established as the ones surrounding Ophaesia.

Will we see the father again?
Oh, absolutely. He’s a major character throughout the game. You’ll be seeing a lot of him, as well as a lot of your siblings and your mother.
In fact, most characters you meet at any point in the game will be seen again.
Awww…only 2 choices for gay guys.

Awww…only 2 choices for gay guys.
Eh, we’re in the same boat, it beats only having 1 choice though…or none

we’re in the same boat
The S.S. fabulous, right?
Also I was planning on this mc not being exactly chaste or monogamous, so maybe all the flings will make up for it.
@idonotlikeusernames @Lizzy
You know… I knew that was the case, but seeing someone else say it really drives it home. Two choices for gay guys out of nine total (and only two for gay girls). Definitely too few.
Fortunately, there’s an easy fix: I can just change Senetha and Pythia to bisexual. It actually fits both their stories perfectly. I should’ve have thought of that sooner, to be honest. This is why it’s important to get feedback on your work while you’re working on it, haha.
(One would think I’d be more aware of how many options there are for gay characters given that I am super gay myself.)

Also I was planning on this mc not being exactly chaste or monogamous, so maybe all the flings will make up for it.
Oh, there will be a lot of flings to be had for everyone.

Any cute visiting foreign princes we can be extra hospitable to by any chance?

Well I think some slack can be given since you have a lot going on in your life

Who knows?
@Fawkes
Can you please tell us about the female ROs?
What’s the difference between being well bred & noble? I’m loving the diversity in the RO’s. Is there anything you can tell us about their personalities without it being too spoiler-y? The main thing I’m excited about is the romance & familial relationships in this game. Oh & is it possible for us to become friends/allies with the ones we can’t romance?
I think well-bred would be someone who’s wealthy like the more successful merchants were but not part of the nobility. Not sure, though.
Interesting ROs. Looking forward to meeting them!

I should be good to list their first names, orientations, and a few other details
Oh, you’re such a fox, with your teasing Can we find out just one little bit about them? Like which two have we known the longest?
Sorry it took me so long to reply. I’m house-/pet-sitting until the 26th, and there are ten cats (four of them kittens) and three dogs I’m looking after. At the moment I’m typing this, I have three cats and a dog in bed with me. I am in heaven.

I suppose I can give a bit more information.
- Kaedra - You’ll have known her the longest. You can meet her in chapter two, according to my outline, along with her twin brother Kyrisen. She’s smart, flirtatious, and a bit vain and materialistic, though there are some hidden depths to her.
- Atheron - He doesn’t really come into play until you’re eighteen, as he is a good bit older than the MC. He has spent a good portion of his life in the southern regions and at sea, as he’s with the navy and deals with the pirates who plague the coast. He’s a bit reserved and his height can be imposing, but he’s a good person.
- Senetha - You meet him as an adolescent. He’s friends with Terrisen, though you don’t need to have a good relationship with Terrisen to meet him. He can be somewhat austere at times, but he’s young, just a bit older than you.
- Pythia - I believe you meet her in your early adolescence, but this may vary depending on certain factors. She’s sweet-natured, serene, and has a very soothing presence.
- Nethica - You meet him in your mid- to late-adolescence. Like many nobles, he has an inflated opinion of himself, but he is also quite charming. He’s fairly hedonistic and quite the rake, and he tends to party with the demimonde (no, that word won’t be used in-game, for those who want to point out that it’s anachronistic) to excess. His behavior changes later in the game.
- Mavrys - You meet him not too long after you meet Kaedra and her brother. He’s athletic, playful, and a kind-hearted person. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, bless his heart, but he’s one of the most trustworthy.
- Jasiphae - You meet her in your early- to mid-adolescence. She’s demure and considered a paragon of beautiful, delicate Ophaesian noblewomen. Underneath she’s is exceedingly intelligent, with wits to match that of any Mytean priest.
- Iseriah - You’re an adolescent when you meet her. She’s a bit wild, openly questioning and rebelling against Ophaesian gender roles. She’s adventurous in many ways, quite the troublemaker, and utterly unpredictable.
- Sebriel - You’re either in late adolescence or early adulthood when you meet him. He’s charming, possesses a barbed wit, and is extremely hard to read. He’s one of the most intelligent characters in the game and one of the hardest to truly figure out.
I have my favorites, of course. I wonder if anyone can guess which male character and which female character are my favorites. First one to guess both right gets to play the first 5k words of chapter two.

What’s the difference between being well bred & noble?
@295Phoenix’s was 100% right: a well-bred person is wealthy, successful, and in possession of a good lineage but not part of the nobility.

Oh & is it possible for us to become friends/allies with the ones we can’t romance?
Absolutely! You will meet all of the ROs in the game regardless of your orientation, and you can become friends, allies, or enemies with any of them, whether you romance them or not. (Yes, you can romance them while having an antagonistic relationship! It might not last, though.)
