@RFKramer SITFU ,errr ,boot .semper gumby grand old man of the marine corp ,and much more i mean its just a small detail and at the end of the day its your choice since you write the game you can do it or not its your choice not mine you can choose

Ay its your choice to inculde it or not just a suggestion and i wouldn’t mind if it doesn’t get in the game

@RFKramer Since you added new types of ideologies like Very Liberal and Very Conservative, will the game calculate if someone is, for example, economically Very Conservative and socially Very Liberal and vice versa?

Also, will scandals and other events be stuff that could realistically happen in real life, or they’re gonna be gamey? I’d prefer the former.

Potentially very troubling:

If the Secret Service is no longer fit for purpose it will have to be replaced, perhaps with special Marshals instead? Or back to the old days of having the Marines perform all guard and security duties?

How about Bill Clinton era kind of scandal? Adultery with the possibility of impeachment if you loose the midterm elections and your kids or spouse accused of embezzling money or abuse of power…I think that if we want to take an example of scandals in a presidential administration, Bill Clinton administration is the perfect one to take

As of right now, no. It will be lumped all into one general ideology stat, which is mainly to simplify my math in all honesty. This stat might be used to determine whether or not you face a primary challenger, so splitting it into two stats would make those calculations more difficult to figure out.

This same thing will go into how I calculate the election process. Right now, I’m planning on individually calculating the results of each state and adding them up. I’m not sure how doable this is, but that’s the plan for right now.

Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean by gamey?

Clinton and Nixon have both been huge sources of inspiration into the scandals and corruption that are being written into the story.

I do go back and forth over when I want to include a potential impeachment, though. On the one hand, putting it earlier makes more sense (it’s almost a guarentee that if you win re-election, you’ll also win control of congress) and impeaching a President during the last two years of an eight year term is unlikely (though not impossible). On the other hand, putting it earlier on means I can’t really re-use that impeachment story element again.

If a character gets away with not being impeached, there wouldn’t really be another check to stop them from chosing every corrupt option after that impeachment trial. While, in real life, there would just be another trial if they had the votes, I feel like this could get very repetative for a player to read through.

Slightly updated map with some demographic and climate shift, no Puerto Rico though…which meant I had to give my mc Hawaii to get that nice close result with late counting battleground states. So, yeah, my mc really effective in mobilising the Asian-American vote.
Manual recounts in Alaska, Hawaii and Oregon. Digital recount in Texas.

Now I just gotta learn how to make wikiboxes or a fake HOI4 focus tree.

And Blue Alaska and both close battleground states.

Red Hawaii? I’ll say. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you really wanna get wild, you could include a possible invocation of the 25th amendment, although there’s not really much historical reference because it’s only been used 6 times…

You could have a particular politician who as an ideological opponent (democrat or republican, basically the opposite of the MC) is dead-set against the potential changes of your presidency and will occasionally threaten impeachment but the effort is swept away by the party leadership or they go to press with lies and the occasional verbal attack on your family or character with a short or long storyline centered around uncovering their shady past

Due to sheer luck, I stumbled around the demo for this game. And I must admit that, after playing it, I thoroughly enjoyed it in its entirety. I really like the good writing, the way the politics are being handled as the centerpiece of the story (instead of romance, for example) and the diverse opportunities you have in the demo.

As a slight suggestion, something that I’d find interesting to see in the game would be the ability to make promises and the obligation/pressure to accomplish them. For example, to be elected in the first place, you may have promised to implement some policies or improve/fix an specific problem, which you could choose and would later be brought up in the game.

Regardless, I loved the game. Can’t wait to see how the rest of the development continues, and I wish you the best with it.

I love when that happens!

This is kinda implemented through your first major piece of legislation, where you pledge to address a certain issue within your first 100 days, but I get what you’re saying. This is definitely going to be something that comes up again in later chapters when it’s time for your character to run for re-election (or not).

@RFKramer you know i actually wonder if at some point we can further militarize the police by giving them machine guns or heck bazookas. we can do that by either expanding the 1033 program or just a executive order. i think expanding the 1033 program is the most likely. And as why i want millitaryized police because why not if the police is millitaryized why not millitaryize them further. And also because i want to be known as the president who gave the police machine guns and dam bazookas and if “possible” bloody attack helicopters.

Now this is not militarized enough only thing missing is dam mortars and I intended if available in future updates in game give the police. Mortars, Armored personnel carriers, and MBTs (Main Battle Tanks)

And maybe for SWAT military training and newly made military equipment and for regular cops the same

You want to turn your America into a fascist police state? Interesting. I, personally, will also be increasing their funding…for better, universally-standardized training oversought by a brand new committee. But no, not the kind of training you’re thinking of.

To each their own, but I’ll be playing out a fantasy in which we actually attempt to fix our police forces nationwide.

The c4i system and air support And various other high-tech equipment are also indispensable for the modern military. It wouldn’t make much sense to just give the tank without it.

Ok i respect your decision to fix the police. The only thing i want to do is make america a fascist police state thats basically what im trying to accomplish
