Not to mention OS already has bits that read like the MC wants to get in JKs pants while simultaneously controlling every aspect of her life.

Well when you devote your life to someone and you don’t have anyone else it can warp your perspective but even if my MC had those feelings it would be wrong for them to act on them. Mostly I just figured they never really had time for sexual interest. First it was all JK. Then it was the redemption project for JK then it was becoming a Crime Lord. Then it was surviving then it was taking over. If she wasn’t an anipowered she’d probably collect cats. And start drinking

I’ve been informed due to the mess with apple the copyedit/reworking wasn’t fully finished and Sergi is currently rewording the whole thing apparently. So, truth be told, on the grand total I’m waiting for that patch before judging fully.

As far as i understood it, the entire game.
I can only speculate, but seeing there are some very drawn out sentences (like “verdict speaks above you but you also hear him in yozr mecomm” (paraphrased) when ‘verdict says’ would have done) or phrasing that makes it sound ani-powereds are violent to meet society’s expectations, or how you didn’t romance anyone BECAUSE you don’t care for someone’s gender…

I haven’t personally seen the depression bit as of yet. However, from what I gathered, it is very VERY disturbing. When a scene goes into trying to use arguments that have been known to be counterproductive, it no longer holds any value for the group that scene is about.
I have depression and have attempted suicide. For that reason, I plan on trying to avoid that particular choice entirely…even though it may mess up my character.
Has no stat effect, to avoid it when you’re at magnuspiral under house arrest pick enthusiastic options when asked about how you feel
The first option (the one ending with helpless and the second to last (i think, need to check) are leading to the “overcome depression with happy thoughts” bit.

I actually thought it had been removed following beta feedback and was horrified to see it hadn’t. Because yes, it’s disturbing. I have depression and anxiety, and while I haven’t attempted suicide, that scene gave me two back-to-back panic attacks while beta-ing.
But yes, as LifeWithoutMind and MeltingPenguins said, you can avoid it through those choices.
I didn’t pick those because they were obviously depressed ones. My character was just ready to get back to work for the Underrepresented.
I’m still baffled why the scene was there to begin with.
To be fair, it is a common misconception about depression. Depression isn’t feeling sad or thinking negative thoughts. At least not entirely. However, to the outside world, that’s what it looks like. It would take far too long to explain to everyone exactly what chronic depression is actually like, so I don’t even try anymore.
