Just curious, but how much of this IF is inspired of Bram Stoker’s Dracula (the novel) and the Film with the same name???
And why did u name this the lost bride?? Is it becuz Mina was the only one of Dracula’s potential Brides to ever escape him or is it becuz elisabeta dracula’s og wife in the 1st movie adaption was his lost love and Mina is her reincarnation??

This is still a first draft and is missing the endings for now, cuz also there some bugs that I cannot yet fix and I’m about to crash out on my laptop right now lol So I will look at it with a clear head in the morning.
Expect this chapter to be also updated this week with more scenes since I do think a lot of the stuff there can be expanded.
The plans for this month.
Change the pov of chapter 1 and 2 and add more scenes to them. Like being able to pick your body type and height and yes they will be used for the game.
Get chapter 3 out of first draft and make sure there is no bugs.
Add the stat screen.
See which of the ROs will be picked for this month art.

Look, I know good WIPs always crush you when they end, but damnit I am so friggin’ invested! Phenomenal update! I love how protective we can be of Lucy and how much aura Quincey Morris continues to have in every story he’s in.
Also, Dracula interactions continue to be tied for 1st place with Lucy. I can’t help but wonder how much the ante will be upped if/when we get to London. Still, I can’t help but worry about Lucy cause us Dracula fans all know what usually happens

I can’t wait to show you the new scenes that will be added to it in the coming week (More drac and Lucy and Van, and also kitty scenes lol) Along with more scenes for chapter 1 and 2 that I was just done with. I also got the stat screen working now which is yay.
Now the hard part of changing the pov of the first 2 chapters before moving to chapter 4. Should take only few days.

So the entire story is now in second person? Can’t say I’m not a little disappointed. I always prefer first person, especially when the protagonist is very much her own person. Helps with the immersion.
Feels like a bit of a waste to redo everything.

There a reason why second person is more popular with IFs, since it allows the readers to self insert better.
More so that my game is a fem locked game, which barely get any engagement at all. So, I kinda need every advantage I can get. Besides, I did find that writing in second pov is just as fun as first while writing chapter 3.
As for the waste to redo everything, I’m already done with chapter 1 and it didn’t take me even a day, so the same goes for chapter 2.
While I do think second person is a good call, mostly as it’s more or less the soft standard for IF. Don’t hold engagement that high, make what you want to make how you want to make it. Forum engagement will always be smaller than if or when it’s listed on sale. You have a great story with amazing writing and prose on the basis of a legendary novel. It’s a good fit. If you really wanted to push engagement, details in titles get me. “Vampire IF” “Dracula adaptation” “Last updated x/x/xx” Etc, lets people know what it is at a glance other than the tags. That and art, which you have and are working on, seem to be how a lot of IF’s get popular outside the BIG names
I love fem locked games. I also like it more if the gender matters. Life is different for men and women so I dont like how many IF writers just write the same stuff for both. I will give this a read!

I am definitely in the minority here, but I prefer first person in games where I can’t create my own character. I am not looking to self insert in a story like this.
Plus, the way you wrote this was beautiful. It felt like I was reading something like Mina’s diary. Her own experiences, her inner thoughts, her fears, her nightmares, her desires. I know I’m NOT Mina. It was something unique.
Either way, enough complaining on my end. Vox populi, vox dei, and the people have spoken.

This was not about the ppl tho. I was never told to change pov and no one ever asked me about povs in the thread at all.
It is something that I been thinking about before I even posted the game. And now felt it would fit the game better, so I made the change.
The change is now done btw. Only took me 2 days. Now to add the missing scenes to chapter 3 and then start working on chapter 4.
I changed the game from first person to second person.
May I know what exactly is changed? I didnt follow up on the current state of things here. Something with first person and second person?

I’m an absolute sucker for gothic horror, so I can’t express how excited I am for this game! I did notice that on the page where you choose the MC’s hair colour, if you choose chestnut brown, the stats page will list it as blonde. None of the other colours seem to have this problem. I hope this helps in some way, I really love this so far <3
