Yes, there is some overlap at times, but I do think they’re different enough to keep. Someone who is peaceful might also be stoic, while vengeful choices don’t necessarily mean someone is stoic, in fact they might be more passionate, but someone might also be passionate and peaceful. Getting rid of the vengeful stat would mean I don’t have a stat that fits the responses that are sarcastic and, well, vengeful.
Both might choose a calm response, but generally they’re for different reasons. The peaceful responses are intentionally peaceful, while the stoic options are more sober, pragmatic, or not caring so much either way, just living the moment and pressing onward no matter what.
Basically, I’ve assigned each option the stat that makes the most sense to me as I’m writing.
This game is not stat heavy in the sense that stats make or break the way it plays out. There are very few testing choices where you get into a pass/fail situation based on stats, and even those are quite forgiving. The stats are more for flavor text and responses in the moment to reflect your MC’s personality. Other choices (whether you attempt diplomacy or advocate for specific actions) will affect the outcome and secondary stats as much or more than the primary stat scores.

Absolutely love it so far after my first playthrough, trying to be peaceful, diplomatic and trust faith. I’ll play through it once more tomorrow. It really captivated me right from the start. The slowwwwburn with Prince Collin is great!
Wow I just finished playing and the update was surprisingly long ??!?!? I kept feeling sad thinking that it was going to end, but it kept goingggg. Maybe I lost a past update, I don’t know, but thank you for sharing it with us!! My thoughts on the update:
I liked the realism post fight, with the clean up, the chaos, the giving orders, etc. It felt really natural, as in an actual kingdom (well, I wouldn’t know for sure lol) but certainly more real than most fantasy tales.
As always, I love Collin’s kindness, and I also spotted some points in which he reacted “bad” to something and it was kinda refreshing so as to not make him too-perfect. I’m only sad that we didn’t get more scenes alone with Collin, but I’m probably being greedy ALSO I can’t stop imagining him as Collin Bridgerton and I hate it I have to make a mental effort to not do it.
Idk why but the scene where the MC reveals her new forged soul to Collin, it reminded me of Twilight. -I know what you are. -Say it. Out loud. Say it! . -A forged soul. (I’m sorry if I’m being too unserious)
I feels nice for Collin to have friends (? oftentimes protagonists and coprotagonists are kind of alienated from the world. Their dynamic also feels natural.
AAHHHHHH THE ROMANCE BETWEEN Tempesta and Leonz?!?!?! THE DRAMA?!?! THE “IS IT MINE?” !?!?! Chef kiss.
Rip the king and his shitty firstborn, nobody will miss u guys. (Though I expected from Collin to ugly-cry his deaths, crying about what never was and now never will be, especially with his father) well, maybe I’m projecting my own feelings in the situation lol
I’m pretty sure I wanted to comment something else, but my mind is foggy and I’m sleepy so that’s all for now
Edit: also, it’s worth mentioning that I only played Collin-related choices so I’m sure I’m losing a good chunk of scenes with other characters, I’m specially looking forward to Dorian scenes

If this is the first time you played chapter four, yes you missed an update and you got A LOT of content in this one, but that’s fabulous because then you get so much at once! Really enjoying your reactions here.
It’s funny because I haven’t watched Bridgerton, nor have I read or watched Twilight, so I don’t know the references you’re mentioning. When I first wrote Collin I grabbed his name from Colin O’Donoghue, who played Captain Hook in Once Upon a Time. I don’t imagine Collin looking like Hook, really, but he has a degree of that swagger and rebellious nature, so that’s how I came up with his name. The “forged soul” wording I hadn’t heard before at all, it just felt like the right term for what happens in the Eternal Library.
I’m so glad this came across! I tried to imagine what it would be like and write it from a realistic perspective, both from the descriptive and logistics side and also with Collin’s reactions. He doesn’t know how to deal with everything. He’s just doing his best in the moment, fighting with his emotions and struggling with the massive amount of responsibility that suddenly rests on his shoulders.
I love this. Others are tired of all the Collin scenes and you want more. I’m so glad! Don’t worry, more scenes with Collin are coming when I get back to that side of chapter five.
Right now I’m working through the rescue side of chapter five, which gives you way more time with Dorian. I’m really enjoying how it’s coming along and I can’t wait to share it with you when it’s ready!
Collin is alienated from his father’s world, so I needed to give him friends so he wasn’t so alone. Also, I really like writing stories filled with camaraderie, so there’s that.
It makes me happy to hear that you like this subplot. It’s one of my favorites!
