Yea I could see the elderly not wanting it to interfere with their lives. Conversely a hotel needs people to work there and would likely become a large potential source of employment. Secondly the traffic from a resort would actually have beneficial spillover to all the surrounding businesses. People who go to a resort hotel usually unless the country is considered unsafe wander around. This would create traffic for the coffee shops, restaurants, beach stores etc. It would likely multiple the business’ revenue and the whole town would be wealthier.

I am Greek and in semi close proximity to Zakynthos (Peloponnesus ) so it was an amazing read! Also as a fellow Stefanos ’ Add a joke here about our name always being the bad guys in Greek series/movies ’ .
Some comments about locals:
People of Zakynthos have the nickname ’ Shaken ’ ( positively not negatively ) because of how often there are earthquakes there, their personality ( Jason and L are perfect representatives lmao . They certainly don’t beat the Zakynthian stereotypes. ) and their singing accent. If you don’t pay attention to what they are saying, you may actually mistake it for foreign ( I think the second easiest to make that mistake, after Cyprus. ) I liked trying to gaslight the Piraeutic Taxi Driver.
For Slender build option, old people here often call people with that build to be ’ Like Saint Onuphrius ’ ( Σαν τον Άγιο Ονούφριο) .
The funniest combo is being an athlete, very tall and with the surname Diamantidi… . One of the best Greek Basketball players have that name ( Dimitris Diamantidis ) though he is from Kastoria rather than Zakynthos ( Though every Zakynthinos I know is a fan of the team he was a legend of, Panathinaikos. ) .

I love this WIP. Slices of life are fun and I’m a big fan of the cultural exploration. I’m mostly familiar with ancient and medieval Greek, but I’d love to learn more about comtemporary Greek culture. Please add me to the list of folks who want more emphasis on the Greek elements. It makes this WIP more unique.
Plus I designed an MC who would be interested in reconnecting with their Greek heritage so that all plays into it.
