The MC’s family dynamics are super fun to write, and I’m looking forward to sprinkling in more gender nuances as I go in refards to this. I’m glad you enjoyed them. I completely understand the hesitancy about a mandatory single RO, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But, as you mentioned, I’m doing my best to present Lux as a viable option for different MCs without sacrificing their personality/character traits. Thank you for playing!

On the Next Update
Hi everyone, how are y’all doing? I’m just making this post to announce that the next update for The Brightest Stars will be coming out on October 27th, at 1pm EST. It will be a relatively small update, ~20k words, and consist of Chapter 3 Pt. 1.
I would like to apologize to you all for the fact that this update is coming so late, I would have loved to get it out earlier. But I’ve been struggling a lot with my mental health recently, and the side effects of new medication, and it took a lot of wind out of my sails writing-wise. Nevertheless, judging by the progress I’ve made so far, this will be an attainable update date. I look forward to you all reading what I have to share.

Hello! Really interested in the concept and story, but I really hope you can offer some tips to have Lux be friendly at the start or atleast not uninterested when with the mc, I’m really struggling as a big romance fan :')
It depends on the gender of lux and mc. Female Lux is always hostile towards mc of every gender, at least for now, it’ll change with continuation of the story. Male Lux is always friendly towards male mc and more „boyish” female mc.

I just read this and am hyped for the update tommorow. But I am also sad to hear that you struggle with your mental health. I can’t help you but I hope you have people with you that care. Know that we who love your story do care about you. The medication side effects can be problematic but I hope it will be better soon and that someday you can live without them unless they are required of course.

Hello! I’m glad that you find the game interesting so far. As @wenus mentioned, Lux’s opinion of the MC depends on the gender combination you’re playing with. If you’re playing with f!MC and m!Lux, as it sounds like you are, then have your MC attend the sacrifice of the cows, and he will like her immediately and want to be her friend.
Thank you for these kind words, it truly means a lot. I have a support system, luckily, and people in my life who care. Still, it’s a great feeling to know that other people, including fans of my game, care.
This is on a break right now because I got an unexpected new internship. It’s fantastic for my future career opportunities, but juggling college, work, and this new internship is a lot. Had I not gotten the new internship, I probably would have been able to update in time. I apologize for forgetting to make a post here about it.
With that being said, the hiatus is only lasting until mid December at the very latest, I suspect that I’ll be back before then. I just need to learn the ropes of my internship, and then juggling these different things should be much easier.
I said it on tumblr but I’ll say it again here: I have no intentions of abandoning The Brightest Stars, and this hiatus is not an abandonment.

Mini Update is Up
Hi everyone! I’m not finished with Chapter 3 Pt. 1 yet, but I’m aware that it’s been a hot minute since the last update, and I wanted to give you guys at least a little something in thanks for the patience and understanding that you’ve shown me. This is why I’ve uploaded the first 10k words of Chapter 3 to the demo. You can play it here. And if you have thoughts abt the demo, you can post here of course, or you can send me an ask on my tumblr.
It’s a mini update, but I hope that y’all enjoy it all the same. I’ve run the game through randomtest so there shouldn’t be any errors, but if you find them, please report them back to me. And if you find typos – of which I’m sure there will be more than I’d like rip – please feel free to report those too.

You know I wasn’t quite sure about this story. Though my mind has changed after reading the characters, especially Lux. They could be a nice person but their situation drags themr down. Though I will say the other characters help out the story with their situation which in turn adds to Lux’s.
All and I especially like the one person romance. No offense to other writers here but when you have one romantic choice you can make it more in depth like I’m seeing here, which I will say is your greatest strength of this story beyond the theme. Good luck

Hi everybody! After careful consideration and debate, I’ve decided to establish a Patreon. It’s something I’ve been considering for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on. As a writer, I love working on The Brightest Stars. From both a creative and pragmatic perspective, I thought that it made sense to establish a patreon.
While I would appreciate any money donated through Patreon, I also have absolutely no hard feelings if that’s something y’all choose not to do

I’m pretty sure that this is a joke, but I’ll give a genuine answer. I’m tracking a corruption stat in the code that tracks both the MC and Lux’s corruption levels. This will have serious ramifications later on in the game, and influence the way other characters treat them and the way that they themselves act.
