Skill Issue lmao
So! I was messing around with the developer tools in Chrome and I thought to myself âYo what if I remove my MCâs weakness.â, so I searched the console for that variable and found âbadatâ. What would happen if I change the badat variable to ânoneâ? Also, yay an update.
Edit: I changed it to ânoneâ. It works, my Sherlock is now the perfect detective.
Yay, new chapter!!!

Thereâs a hiccup in the code somewhere. If you skip to chapter 4 at the start thereâs an image splah page, like with all other chapters, but if youâre playing normally there is not.
âfrom hisâ what?
Fine. Fine. Everything is fine (except that you missed a space in âin frontâ.
So, either âdetailsâ refers to Hâs, in which case it should be âher detailsâ in my playthrough, or tot he tailorâs, in which case you canât have âhisâ before mentioning the tailor.
Absolute lol.
The game is, indeed, afoot. Or, sometimes, a hand, but that makes the game too easy because of fingerprints. So a foot, indeed!
@Erized was that with a fresh playthrough?
IM SORRY JOHN, IT REALLY ISNT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKEâ
ahem, anyways⌠i have to say that i really love how you write characters and dialogue. it just feels so real and natural?? an example that stands out to me is the banter between watson and mrs. hudson about names. it was funny of course, but it also felt âimmersiveâ, i would say. it reminds us that these people exist in the world outside of holmes; conversations happen in the background that dont necessarily involve them. to me, it feels more like im actually there and experiencing the environment instead of just reading⌠though i have to say that reading it was a great way to spend the morning of my birthday haha. youâre doing so great, and i look forward to more!
i also laughed when watson said âiâm not just their writer â iâm also their companion in solving crimes!â it caught me off-guard because i expected him to say something not connected to holmes; like that heâs a doctor xD he really is kenough⌠(iâm sure i make it very obvious who my favourite character is)
I tried the option to skipping to chapter 4 instead of replaying the whole thing just because I was impatient on meeting H. I barely remember what my Sherlockâs personality was from my prior save but I think I got her close enough. And now I regret playing it because it was so short but so good!
my thoughts
Iâm kinda confused about whoâs simping who here, but I got Mrs Hudson serving me tea. So Iâm not sure if thatâs good or bad. But I do like when Watson appears just at the right time when Sherlock is falling into someone elseâs hand. Curse you long dresses!
My impression so far on H is alright. I havenât tried the obvious options that would make Sherlock fall for him yet. But he was nice to my Sherlock and called her a roseâs thorn. I think thatâs a compliment. Maybe
Hello! Just something I noticed after playing. Mrs Hudson says she doesnât know what the H in Watsonâs name stands for despite her saying it the previous chapter:
Chapter 4 after meeting H:
Chapter 3 after catching the bird:
You sure she isnât just âhaving him onâ, pretending she doesnât oh so conveniently? Much of the scene is driven by her quirky attitude up to then. I do agree that the tone could use a little refining specifically in that spot if her âsudden amnesiaâ is a case of teasing her boarding resident, since the usual cues werenât âclued inâ in the spots that show sheâs teasing.
No clue which one itâs supposed to be. Her genuinely not knowing was just how I inferred it rather than completely teasing. I can still see it being the latter though but it does need a bit of rewording if thatâs the case.
I must say I donât trust our new RO one bit! Heâs sus but maybe heâs at disadvantage bc the other two ROs have years of story with Sherlock. I think my favourite so far is Watson, I just have a soft spot for how caring he is and his loyalty
I love the classification of simpness without noticing it in my first playthrough I got full simp.
I enjoyed the chapter a lot despite missing Watsoooon. I think it would be nice to have more options to present him to H, I think there is potential for funny interactions there, but obviously itâs easier said than done
Thank you for sharing this with us @Doriana-Gray! Always a pleasure to read your work
Yes, it was with a fresh playthrough.
you can always do the long slow burn seduction / wear down their held high walls with promiscuous proposals
Poor Mrs Hudson will never stop trying! Sheâs not often correct, but she is steadfast
There was a bug like that a while ago if one started on an old save but other than that I donât know
It is possible to get half simp stillâI can guide you on how to get it if you would like?
more teasing optionsâI shall see what I can do!
This one is on purposeâbut the other one isnât, thank you! <3
Lolol, I wonât promise that wonât break the game but other than that good luck with op Sherry
Ohh nice! thx!
Aww thatâs one of the nicest thing Iâve ever heard Thank you for playing the update!
OMG THEY SO ARE!
Then H was not on simp route / u didnât get the simp scenes Iâm afraid.
Fun factâthat happens if wearing a dress and have low strength and Hamish! Otherwise you get a different version.
Ahhh haha I didnât notice! For a long while I only had it as John/Jane H Watsonâbut changed it and forgot I did so
One option is to either return to only saying H as the middle name in the previous chapter â or â change Mrs Hudsonâs line to something like âOh, youâre right, I somehow forgot you existed in all this excitement â
Iâll keep that in mind!
Sus u say? Never! Not dear old H!
(They are my gothic romance novel RO, my Rochester if u will, so that is rather fitting )
I also realised I forgot to write in the guide!
To get half simp route H â you need to decline!
So sorry, I only noticed this today! The choice makes total sense for the scene, but I had simply forgot that is a choice I had made
I also wanted to ask:
Was H anything like you expected?
What would you like to see from them in the future?
From the people who tried both simp and non simp, which was your favourite?
- Simp H
- Non-simp H
I would like to hear all your feedback around H
They are incredibly, ridiculously polite and diplomatic. A perfect image of an aristocrat. And perfect target to poke, shock and push their buttons. Maybe that will be even more fun than with Lestrade.
You knowâI should add in more poking and pricking itâs too fun to prick H
YESS
To be completely honest, my favourite so far is the half simp route. I like how H can start out glaring daggers at Sherlock, but then completely change his tune when we turn them down. Him begging is more like sucking up to us imo and itâs hilarious.
I think my planned Sherlock is going to be too chaotic for them (Adler may be the most ideal if they end up being like theyâre like any other adaption of Adler), but definitely intrigued to see more of the dynamics with H. Simp was my favorite lol, but I am curious of how non-simp goes down later if my Sherlock didnât give the best impression. Not sure if anything specific I want yet until we see more. I realize I didnât actually turn them down though, I should do that next.
I just realized that I donât know what H route I got I was just choosing options that matched my MCâs personality and didnât think about H.
Personally prefer the latter if you would ask me. The power of Mrs Hudson calling out Watson by saying his entire name canât be recreated haha~
By the way, forgot to ask. Is the simp route only available for new saves? I replayed the game with a female MC, but I have a previous save file with a male MC that chose the same options. Simp route only appeared during my female MC though.
Thank you; after you confirmed that itâs possible, I tried fiddling around with different choices and finally got a half-simp version! I enjoyed this version even more, their conversations were delightful. And, of course, I loved seeing H beg after being turned down, it feels oddly in-character for them to react this way. Itâs as if their pride had been wounded by rejection, and in retaliation⌠they decided to wound it some more.
I also enjoyed the sight of Watsonâs jealousy, omg, the drama!
Oops, I suspected it might be on purpose, but I wasnât sure, so I decided to mention it just in case. My bad! The other one was clearly Lestradeâs doing: they bugged the game because they donât want to be yelled at by Sherlock.
