stares blankly for a moment and then bursts out laughing

:joy::joy::joy: Oh, Christ… You have completely destroyed my imaginary image of sweet, pretty pigeon :weary:

What it is on their beak? It looks like brain

I had to make a meme about it

That’s the most evil thing the author has ever done. Bait and switch…

It does, it really does.

This keeps coming up—did no one read the birds description or did y’all block it our of memory? :joy:

The neck of the bird stretches far longer than typical. The gaunt shoulders and body give it a sickly appearance. But it is the beak that is the most unusual. Around the brim and a little around the eyes, there is a strange growth. Like flesh and fungus. A crusted tumour of pink matter.

People keep telling me I promised cute bird—BUT I WAS VERY CARFUL WITH THAT—I NEVER PROMISED CUTE!!!

Proof:

This is the ugliest bird I’ve ever seen  but actually, this creature suits my MC. He likes collecting weird things.

I actually looked up what an English carrier pigeon looked like right after reading the description, and was thoroughly amazed by how accurate it was. Why would anyone purposefully breed a bird to look like that? I don’t know but I love my nasty little girl.

I think that Mrs Hudson is a boss of some illegal organization - one minute she’s so happy that we have a pet and the next she goes and cook one of the same species? That’s cold. But this bird scares me. What can i do to pressure John to take her in his apartment?

And now for my dear Watson. I love when my MC can be this sarcastic arrogant jerk, but John would still bend over backward for him. This is John’s biggest flaw and i can’t wait how it will be played in the future. (If there will be some heartbreaking moment which will wake him from it?) And is there some reason why John doesn’t use his walking cane? I know what’s like when your leg constantly hurt, so i believe the cane would make his walking little more managable?

I hope we will meet Mycroft in the future, the fact that he (in my MC case) gave Sherlock a ring with poison for self deffence is creepy but sweet.

Also i didn’t let my Sherlock sniff that letter. Some people in that time made their own ink and who knows what this X put into this.

y’all be shocked at the bird and I actually think its cute LMAO
Then again, I do have a hobby at researching about unusual animals :joy:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

A H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H

UDSNYUDHSNH CSCNJd IM screamING AHH THI S IS SO GOOD YOUR WRITING IS IMMACULATE THIS IS…

aghk. I love this IF so much… JUST. THE WAY YOU’VE CAPTURED THE QUINTESSENTIAL OBSESSION OVER CASES AND TROUBLE WITH BOREDOM THAT HOLMES HAS… YES. YES. AHHH. JUST. YES.

I LOVE the little jokey choices we can choose I’m in heaven right now… My Holmes is trying to emulate the energy of Herlock Sholmes from Great Ace Attorney, so the fact we can be petty and teasy like that means everything to me.

ALSO. WHO IS X. I HAVEN’T READ THE BOOKS AND I AM VERY INTRIGUED. why was that letter so :flushed: … Like in most cases I wouldn’t but the fact that its specifically geared towards what this person KNOWS Sherlock would be interested in (I also love that the MC can be utterly uninterested that’s the letter thats just so funny to me-)

I was also wondering where Lestrade and Watson were going as Romance routes? Because like… I can’t choose… (normally I would despise playing an oblivious MC but Sherlock just has THE ENERGYTM…) (I was… wondering about possibilities for a poly route? Tho I understand if it wouldn’t be accurate for the time or something, haha… Just… I wanna see more of Lestrade and Watson interacting because they seem so sweet together ahg… LIKE. FORREAL-)

I honestly had a double take on that option, new letter comes and you immediately have the option of inhaling it lmao.

I think pigeon companion was fits though, weird pigeon for weird detective.

I’m guessing they bred it to be a good carrier pigeon, not for the appearance. Unless they just wanted a dragon bird, of course.

I get that it’s likely due to breeding, but I’m going to go with “make them so ugly that nobody wants to touch them and the letters remain safe.” Like, my thirst for curiosity would be severely outweighed by how… unique the bird looks, and I would turn the other way if it was having a drink or something mid-journey, lol.

I loved the demo, it was very interesting and fun to play :slightly_smiling_face:

So I come to this from @Anna_B 's reccomendation. If I am not disappointed, then I shall not have to have her… disappeared. :face_with_monocle: Your work holds her fate in its hands. We shall see how… apt to the task it proves. :face_with_monocle:

Forewarning: I’ll be headcanoning F Watson as Joan, not Jane, just so I can play a game with Lucy Liu in it.

The driver’s smile WIDENS.

The “you” after “Miss Cotter” shouldn’t be capitalised.

“When” should be capitalised.

“One of her hands BRUSHES”

I like it that you allow us to avoid being the utter contemptuous dick Holmes canonically acts as while still maintaining the narcissism that he is. “I didn’t notice Watson approaching? Preposterous! Something must be afoot, nay, an entire millipede!”

“carrying ill-defined intentions to uphold the non-verbal vow” is semantical GOLD!

I commend you for managing to make the Holmes/Lestrade awkwardness more entertaining than second-hand embarassing. Hard needle to thread.

“The case is unconfirmed. That’s fine! fine fine, couldn’t be more fine…”

“He says the birds are attacking. The skies are crowded with them. They have come for revenge, for war, he warns.”
Alfred Hitchcock has entered the chat

“she picks up HER brass pocket watch”

No option to be interested in a museum unveiling makes me sad. :frowning:

Watson’s way of getting the carriage to show up at the right time is a very Holmesian solution to a problem - throw every hypothesis at a problem, see which one fits. “Once you have eliminated the impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”

OMG, Watson gets HANGRY, I love her!

“BIRD’S back to you”

I’m not ENTIRELY sure, but it’s possible that you meant “wavers” in “It never waivers, never stops.”, so I thought I’d mention it. Also, you have an extra ‘r’ at the end of manoeuvre.

“Gosh, I have no idea why the name Mary would pop into my mind”, says Watson.

reads letter Oh, look, I found the musical’d version:
Eminem - Stan (Long Version) ft. Dido - YouTube

“And the doctor at THE table”, I believe.

Curious about the dream choice: earlier on, in the coach ride with Watson, there’s a mention of both Watson and Lestrad beingg Sherlocks’s"… friends", but no similar-hinting option appears on the dream choices. On purpose?

I’m liking it. Much like Sherlock, I’m hoping for a more murderous morning. Puzzles, woman, gimme my puzzles!

EDIT: Ok, I read some of the initial posts (this thread is 816 posts long, I’m not going through all of them), and I see comments about saves all being reset to the start of the chapter. Since, again, I’m not goign to read 816 posts, in case it hasn’t been said, whenever you push a game update, all saves get reset to the start of the chapter they were made in. There is, to my knowledge, no way around this; it’s just how dash saves work.

So far the relationships with Watson and Lestrade are so cute and interesting, I can’t wait for more!

Flustering Lestrade should be an international sport!

The costumization for mc’s clothes are quite good are you planning on also adding gloves?
Also when you say remove combat speciality you mean they were meant to have been specialising on boxing, fencing or musket and now will just be overall fighting or will the fighting skill be removed im a little confused
(Also sorry for any misspellings english is not my first language)

 :+1: :+1: :+1: Then all is good, nice

I suppose it’s the typical “breed for a single purpose and lose sight of all other” :smiling_face_with_tear: But im glad you approve of her haha!

Thankfully–I don’t think Pheasant and pigeon are the same species, so it’s not quite so bad! But yes, mrs Hudson is quite hardcore  Watson draws the line at keeping the bird in their room. Especially when Sherlock has the biggest apartment.
There are multiple reasons why Watson avoids using the cane. One big one is pride, but mainly it’s that victorian society was quite… harsh. Same reason they don’t wear their glasses too often (usually only reading and surgery). They would be judged, and dismissed more easily. But usually Watson is fine without their cane nowadays. Just some days, or a day like the in-game day where there was a lot of standing, quick walking and explosive strange movements.

I’m glad you liked it

@Mistyleaf123 :heart: :heart: :heart:

@Graceful-Not :face_holding_back_tears: :heart: :heart:
Awww, your comment made me smile so so much. Thank you

X is not a name in the books :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

There is no poly—but you can LT with all the ROs! :sparkles: So a conversation can def happen sometime in the future :kissing:

The choice was basically there to meet the letter with… the same energy lol… + a little gothic romance ~is it meant to be~ vibe

@LiliArch Dragon bird :eyes: that would be a good line for MC in defence of the bird… damn.

@potter321 :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Alex_Parker_Roberts Same!

ahh—totally get that—love her as Watson! (Tho! It might get some game conflict with eye colour and build sadly)

Thank you so much for the fixes and feedback!!! I love that type of stuff!

I’ll try and add one!

I think I was going for a victorian vibe, but tbh it just gets the flow stuck for most readers, so im changing it to your suggestion :+1:

Yes :upside_down_face:

They’re definitely coming! There will be letter mysteries for small puzzles and larger detective investigations—we are still in the tutorial and introduction mechanics stage (continues till chapter 7), so that’s why the player is very hand held throughout it. I’m glad to hear you like it

:smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: There’s a lot more coming!

Wait till chapter 5 and 7 :smirk:

I was going to but it… its a little complicated because the MC already does things with their bare hands in the earlier chapters  and it also makes it a little complex in some scene with the writing and coding. My current idea is for the MC to be able to decide on a type of glove perhaps, and then it will be off or on deepening on if it makes sense for the scene (and the taking them on and off happens off screen maybe?)

I’ve removed the fighting skill, and it will be more based on the skill you have and the choices you make in a scene (if there is fighting in it).
