Really great story so far. Regarding potential copyright issues, Iām not a lawyer but I remember the Conan Doyle estate sued Netflix regarding the Enola Holmes movie over making Holmes warmer and caring arguing that Doyle created āsignificant new character traits for Holmes and Watsonā in the 10 stories still under copyright in the US, which were written between 1923 and 1927. IE made him more warmer and less aloof.
The case was dismissed and probably settled out of court.
So I would recommend when you finish the story that it would be best hosted on DashingDon since it could be considered fan fiction and you would not be making any money off of it.
If you decide to go through Choice of Games/Hosted Games then you probably would have to change the names of all the characters in order to get it published since you and CoG would be making a profit from it and it would no longer be considered fan Fiction.
However when you get closer to finishing the story it might be helpful to consult a copyright lawyer if you want to go the publishing for profit route. They could advice you on what you would need to do.

All I have said is I am going to try twine and see which one I prefer 
I like the idea of more programming and design possibilities. But I want it to work well too. So I suppose we will see. I have yet to try it despite saying so for months tho haha

Good to hear that copyright expires on Jan 1st for all his remaining works so yeah you should be good to go.
I just tend to err on the side of caution and didnāt want you to get into any potential legal trouble.

Currently I have Watson as a demisexual. I believe it is the excitement and variety that Sherlock adds to Watsonās life they appreciate most. Being so unique, and interestingābrains probably had something to do with it, but not the deciding factor.
H (Helena/Hamish), a future RO, could probably be described as Sapiosexual tho!

I have sadly found out I am way too random and impulsive in my creation to set a date My current plan is sometime this summer (so before September starts). Then I have planned to include chapter 3 and 4 
I am flattered tho that you want to mark it down on a calendar 
Would it help if I update this thread when I have sent off chapter 4 to beta readers? Then there would not be more than maybe 2 weeks till drop? Or some kind of progress report thing?

Okay so to begin with! This update gave me something I sorely needed, which was a way to tease Lestrade and be annoying yet endearing. I canāt handle fictional characters hating me okay?! I feel so guilty 
And before we did have some bold choices with L, but they didnāt feel like they fit a flirty and cheerful MC, you know? It was a serious kind of bold, very straight-forward. THIS UPDATE WAS LIKE A DLC BASICALLY. Here! A completely new way to interact with Lestrade that will fit even more MCs! BLESS YOU DORI.
For some weird reason, I think my favorite line from MC to L now is: āDear me, how ever are we supposed to make a proper detective of you now?ā The context is so playful and idk why but in my head the delivery of this line is extremely charming 
I always end up having weird favorite lines, like āI love your company. Have I told you that lately?ā from Watson. [IāM GONNA TRY TO REFRAIN MYSELF FROM GOING INTO WATSON TERRITORY YET BUT OHBOY]
The story of the first case!!! 
It was such a good scene, like Lestrade was talking but it felt like we as readers were there with them as they remembered it. And it REALLY felt like seeing MC through Lās eyes, how frustrating it must be to work so hard and have someone naturally talented come and fix in 5 minutes what you couldnāt in 5 days. Frustrating but admirable, IDK THIS SCENE HELPS TO BUILD BOTH LāS CHARACTER AND MC, SO FREAKING GOOD!!!
Donāt get me started on the sandwich lol. The true, correct option is to drop yours in solidarity and IāM NOT HEARING ANY OTHER OPINION. Itās the superior choice. Drop. It. /j
okay enough of Lestrade like since chapter 2 dropped there has been a star in this show and that star is WATSON OBVIOUSLY and IāM HERE ONCE AGAIN READY TO FIGHT FOR THE SWEETEST ROS WHO ARE HEAD OVER HEELS FOR MC. In a world of rude, sarcastic, cold ROs, Watson is EVERYTHING I needed 
And MC is literally everything to Watson like??? HELLO??? THAT LINE??? Who gave you the right to write W saying āYou are everything to meā??? How am I supposed to move on from that line??? HOW IS MC SUPPOSED TO MOVE ON??? Answer: there is no moving on, there is only Watson now. As it should be.
Iām so happy we got a new prize for more shy MCs who wouldnāt be so bold as to ask for a kiss! Iām of the opinion that if a general scene [not locked behind a bold/shy/etc choice] has the option to flirt or have a romantic moment, we should get those options for all MCs that the game allows, not just a particular type. Because then Iād feel like I should choose it anyway to not pass the scene without the possibility of romance, even if it would totally contradict who MC was until that point. AND YOU DELIVERED DORIANA 
Shy MCs and teasing MCs were WELL FED this update!!!
Iām weirdly excited about the bird lol. I really canāt wait for chapter 3&4 (I can and will wait)

The fact that I can now be gently annoying towards Lestrade pleases me greatly. Itās very much my vibe. I dunno, only when Iām fully comfortable with someone I can bring myself to push their buttons and be mischievous.
I canāt help but imagining a scene where we steal a sandwich bite from Lestrade then either make a new one for them/buy a new one/buy them breakfast? because it just āfelt like the right thing to do since they were so annoyed about itā.
May or may not be a convoluted plan just to have an excuse to gift him free food ha.

Yes and no, you canāt end the game in a poly type relationship, but you can build something romantic with both of them at the same time until very close to the end, and get LT type content about that. Quite like wayhaven book 1

@LiliArch You can call them idiots! (tho it was Lestrade who bought, or at the very least ordered extra sandwiches according to MCs preferences, so you are technically calling L an idiot. And then they get very hurt
