Tale of Two Cranes (Out March 7)

It’s somewhat a deal breaker for me cause I love animals, especially mythical ones like Dragons. So more of a dragon lover.

I mean, I get it, dragons are cool but they’re also in like 99% of the fantasy novels on here so a break from them isn’t earth shattering for me lol and if it’s any consolation, I’m suffering right alongside you, having been forced to use my ancient enemy, the spear :joy:

I think this last question might help me decide on whether I refund this or not (though I might change my mind in the future). I saw earlier in the comments that classes are limited to one weapon type. What weapons are they limited to?

I forget what they’re called in game and what’s delegated to what but the four options are basically a quarter staff, a straight sword, a spear, and a falchion

Is it set for you to lose to Zhang Bohai during the test? Was wondering, cause I restarted three times to see if different choices allow me to beat him, yet get same outcome.

Do you mean at the end of chapter 2? Cause I chose militant, chose to be honorable, and went to the west area and got named number one so it is possible

Yeah, strange. Cause I’m also honorable, choose to go west and got ‘trapped by his arrow’.

If you mean you fell into his pit, I did as well and it didn’t tell me that I beat him until a little ways into chapter 3, I was also on good terms with him at like 42 relations but I don’t know if that changes anything

I don’t think you can fail against him. I think its instawin.

Oh, I see thanks. Lol I didn’t proceed through chapter 3 to be told that information, as I thought that chapter 2 ending was a failure on my part and i thought I did everything right with my characters aligned personality and states.:joy:

Does anyone know how to get Liu Yuan on the throne? I’ve been trying for hours but Liu Bang always gives it to the youngest :sob:

So like to become the emperor is it necessary to have good relationship with everyone like we have max 100 stats and evrything it makes the roll pass in that case you wouldn’t need t have friendly terms with everyone ? Unless ofcourse if it’s necessary for Major choices and all to make us emperor am gonna go for the emperor path YEAH BOIIII,

@Jesse_Collins The end of the test with Zhang Bohai is fade to black with you always winning.

@Liza_P Certain tasks need to be accomplished for any heir other than the default (in this case Liu Bang’s youngest). For Liu Yuan you need any two of the emperor tasks, kill the consort and blackmail the empress, any two court related tasks, and all three of the army related tasks. You need to do these within eleven turns.

Also, I’m going to add what you need to become heir for all three emperors:

First you have to succeed in all the below tasks within nine turns. There are eight tasks so you only get one extra.
With Emperor Liu Bang/Xiang Yu: Basically there are a few ways to make this happen:

  1. Emperor support, empress support and court support
  2. Emperor support, empress support and army support
  3. Emperor support, court support and army support

You’ll need to succeed at all three Emperor’s tasks no matter what to become heir yourself. For Liu Bang’s Empress tasks you can marry Liu Yuan, Liu Fei, or the Dai family heir and then either blackmail or kill the consort OR you can blackmail the Empress and kill the consort. For Xiang Yu’s Empress then you marry any of the previously mentioned options and acquire the orphan or succeed in the ploy OR acquire the orphan and succeed in the ploy. Finally you need to have full support of either the court or the army (to do that complete all three tasks for them).

With Ying Quliang: You’ll need to successfully complete all three tasks for the court, army, and two of three of the Emperor tasks. To be heir you’ll also need to marry her and break up with your RO/arranged marriage if you have one.

@Lordking If you have max stats you don’t need any help from anyone else. Having good relationships with your companions is so they want to help you succeed in various tasks. They are meant to help you if your stats aren’t suitable or high enough.

@TwoSharp Omg thank you so much! I never would have figured that out for myself because I absolutely refused to kill a child. Well, I guess I might have to become heir myself now to avoid that. Maybe on another playthrough, though, when Han Xin isn’t my character’s father :smiling_face_with_tear:

Wait… so there isn’t a female romance option for evil characters? Fang Lan, Liu Yuan, and Lin Ninghong seemed very goody goody in the demo.

How do you marry Ying? The option to win her hand is always grayed out for me

There’s a post above explaining exactly that

From what I can tell, you just don’t need to screw them over personally

Nah it doesn’t really, also how does one screw her over? And how do you avoid uhhh doing so
