I was pleasantly surprised when I found this game on Itch.Io. Wasn’t sure if it was going to be as complex as it was here, given this one uses ChoiceScript and on Itch it uses… HTML, I believe? But the story remains the same, the personality stats are still there and there is a save system to booth. A little bad for CoG’s business but a good alternative for authors all around, I believe.

Superstition’s released version is coded in Twine, “an open-source tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories”.

I also think Twine’s been around longer than ChoiceScript, but because it’s just an open source tool and that’s it, many authors will still swing towards ChoiceScript since they market your game. So it’s a great alternative, especially for authors who want to add more to the game but I don’t think it can compete with CG/HG in terms of community and marketing.

I just started reading this and am loving everything so far. Could you tell me all the characters you can romance?
In Season One there’s only Sydero and Chris. In Season Two (which isn’t out) two male romances are added and one female.

Or is it a slowburn and have to wait for season 2 to break those walls of hers?

It’s a scene when your in a bar or diner, I don’t remember it was a while ago.
@Bahamuht I honestly don’t remember when, but I do remember the make out kiss, that might be it although my character probably wasn’t drunk.
Then I guess I gotta go through the game again, since none of my saves go back that far and I do remember a scene where we go to a bar with Sydero, but I always end up drunk(probably because I choose something strong).
It’s the scene you’re thinking of, where you go to the bar. Getting drunk doesn’t effect the kiss, just making sure you pick the romantic choice when it prompts it. As for the slowburn, her romance officially kicks in season 3 because of ‘her issue’ in season 2.
