Romance wise Amari or Zillah are my favorites (though I haven’t done a full run through with Amari yet). Amari especially because I recall in one of my first playthroughs Zillah caused MC to kill her …dad? I think. Even so, I remember her being a little wary of MC but she still forgave us, treated us like a person and wanted to be near us a lot. She was smitten with MC quite fast; simply the sweetest thing ever 
. Also, when you choose to beat Zillah’s face in; he was still okay with us afterwards. Bro respected it, didn’t simmer over it and even kinda liked it with his Freak self 
. These two characters hold nothing against MC.
While if you try to romance Chris or Rahim, they both find reasons to be upset at us or keep us at a distance. If you’re Playing a Male MC, Yeah Chris struggles, I get that but what about outside of that. His multiple thoughts about us as a person in general are crraazzyy coming from a friend. Wrong for liking men. Wrong for adapting. Wrong for not being human. and a Monster because we don’t know what we are. Rahim, is affectionate one second but then the very next scene is him being cold asf; outright rude. All due to a broken heart and whatever secret he’s hiding. But once more, it’s not MCs fault.
