LOL i was gonna say!
I actually haven’t played this in a while and i’m just checking the thread hoping the secret RO was finally confirmed to be Callum but it’s someone else? (i saw ppl saying it was a joke so i’m kinda confused tbh). When i first played i was so sure Callum would be a RO, the history, dynamic, the betrayal and all the angst would make it way too delicious of a route…
Everyone is pinning for Charlotte or Callum, meanwhile my PC is busy being starstruck by the prince.
Wait Vals a RO??? All the times I’ve played this I swear I don’t remember her being one lmao.
I’m smiling so big now, that it hurts.
HALT!! Who is this Merrow person hmmm, is he new? He sounds interesting. I read his description and I think I like him already.
Let me play this update because Obviously I either forgot or i’m late a ton of stuff lol.
Saw this pop up long ago, but never tried it cause I wanted to wait till it had a more substantial demo. Now that I played it and read some of the comments, my thoughts seem to be pretty common.
Personally I like the past portion more cause I find it more intriguing and cause of how I’m rp my Mc(which is someone who doesn’t let things go). In terms of RO’s, Val honestly not sure how I got such high Fondness when I treat her more like a bodyguard does to his charge, but she cool I like how hard she’s trying. As for Farah, hopefully her time comes after our trip, cause I don’t really have an opinion of someone without an actual interaction. Then everyone’s favorite maybe-maybe not RO Charlotte… Yeah, if possible she’d be a #1 pick and with how my playthrough ended, either Callum killed me for winning over Charl or because he had a one sided love for me and failed to get the rivals to lovers ending.
I’m going to try not to say or reveal too much here, but one thing that I do think is worth reminding people is that Charlotte’s relationship with the MC can vary dramatically depending on your choices, and unless you make a concerted effort to strengthen your relationship with her over the course of the first two flashbacks, the most likely outcome is actually for her to continue disliking the MC, or even hate them more than she did before.
In these timelines in particular—which are actually the norm, not the exception—she most certainly will never fall for the MC, and Callum would have to be pretty delusional to ever think otherwise.
Remember, we still have the majority of the flashbacks ahead of us—plenty of time for Callum to find new and exciting reasons to stab you in the back, some of which may not even have anything to do with Charlotte!
You can’t stop me because I can’t read.
Which is why I said “with how my playthrough ended”, I can tell that it wasn’t easy but somehow I got through to Charlotte with minimal effort. I was rather surprised how big of a jump her stats went. Though I’m impressed with how you’re doing the romance since it’s not the usual “press the options”
I choose callum as a brother at the start… Coz I didn’t want to start directly as lovers but if he’s the secret RO I hope we can still date him later on, like we had a secret crush or sum I rlly like him lol
(pls make him the secret RO or I’ll cry fr)
Fair enough! I just wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page re: the theory of Callum’s betrayal being jealousy-based, and the fact that the hypothetical catalyst for that wouldn’t apply to most playthroughs, since a few other people had also independently brought up that possibility.
Valerie has always been an RO, yeah—my list in the OP hasn’t changed since I first posted this game.
It’s possible you didn’t realize because I don’t currently have that many romance flags or chances to express attraction in this game in general. I’m hoping to have that change a little as the game progresses, you get to know the characters better, and you have more downtime with them, but so far it just hasn’t felt right to include in a lot of scenes. We’ll see!
Merrow hasn’t actually been introduced in the demo yet; he’ll show up in Chapter IV. Hopefully when that happens, you’ll like the character as much as you like the descriptios!
…Or, you know, more, ideally, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
If Calllum is the secret RO, he won’t be romanceable if you’re on the brother route, because he actually does think of you as a sibling in that scenario.
Think I’ve got a pretty good guess as to what direction the story is headed and what the bombings and talisman are for. It’s ambitious to be sure. Puts the variable start states of Callum and the PC’s origins into a new light.
A bit worried it won’t all fit into one story.
How do you strengthen the relationship with Charlotte in the flashbacks? I’ve been trying to get this “Charlotte falls for MC” thing but she hates my guts lmfao
You need to get enough friendship and/or respect with her that she’ll talk with you after the whole cabin incident. Then, you need to pick choices that help her.
Is there any kinda dialogue that shows you are on the right path? Something that she says maybe?
I had to look at the code to know the right answers for her. Wanted to put a guide up for it too but honestly I got a bit let down by the RO talk cause I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be Callum. If she turns out to be at least a fling I’ll put something up, otherwise I’ll sulk in my corner forever lol
Maybe like someone said it will depend on who has the highest liking between callum and her and it will decide who survived?
Either way I’m on callum’s side xd
From what I could tell, not really, the turning point is right at the of the flashback. So after the cabin either she opens up to you or not.
Callum storyline isn’t bad, I rather like the tropes used for his character if he was to be an RO, but the problem is that he’s a dude so that’s a no for me. If he was gender selectable would be my go-to, so I understand why people like him. Unfortunately, female characters rarely get those, so when I see a character that is bare minimum enemy-to-lover I go full on high hopes as it happened with Charlotte. There are some in games here but most of those got abandoned, unfortunately.
Kind of funny because for me I instead see a girl as that trope and I cry lol
Considering that none of the other ROs are gender selectable, I wouldn’t dismiss Callum as a potential RO. I rather hope it’s him and he’s still around in one way or another, because it would be a nice narrative arc for the MC as all ghosts of the past (ba-dum tss) tend to be. It works with Callum being a brother and a rival too, of course, but romantic history is just too deliciously angsty. Callum has a devastating gravity to him and he frames so much of MC’s life and death from what we’ve been shown so far, just… just let me have it, please. It’s so unhealthy and raw. Yum.
I mean, I’m confidently trying and failing to romance Cortez here, but still (I haven’t flirted with him once because it wasn’t really the time or place, but hey, he, like, half-respects me now! I… I’ve friendzoned myself, didn’t I?..)
My MC meeting Cortez and realising he has a type and that type is “an arrogant asshole wizard who loves nothing more than to needle me for a reaction and constantly dismisses me the second he doesn’t actively need me”: shit.
