Shattered Blades: A Wish (WIP) (Chapter 1 Finished, 25K words, 21-FEB-2026)

Hello everyone. I would like to present my first demo. This will be a fantasy action game with some elements of mystery and horror. I will do my best to provide a good grammar as well. Hopefuly I don’t mess it up too much.

Synopsis

After getting your scholarship for the Royal Academy, things were supposed to get better for you. Yet fates proved to be a cruel mistress. Betrayed, you are forced to be a mercenary to escape execution. Since you are a lowborn, people were ready to put the blame on you. After the 10 years of war, you are the head of the mercenary band of Crimson Wolves.

With might and magic, you have to carve your way to the truth. You have to be careful in your mission. SpellSwords are rare and you don’t need too much attention. Many others moving behind the curtains. You need to strike at the right moment. Thankfully, you won’t be alone .

Your band of warriors and your friend Jackie will be with you on this journey .

Diffrence between mage, aura wielder and Spellswords

Mages uses mana to cast spells while aure wielders can only use it to boost their combat abilities. Aura can cause elemental effects but the range is short. As the game progress, you will notice the advantages and short comings of it as we ll.

For SpellSwords, they have the best of both worlds. In some tabletop games, multiclass characters need to either choose to cast spell or attack for their action, or they need to use a bonus action to add magical effect on their attack. SpellSwords only need to use an action. The shortcoming is that you need to have a mithrallium weapon. An ordinary sword won’t survive your full power outp ut.

What to expect

-Interactive combat: If your attack hits, you will have the opportunity to do a combo. In the same way if you fail, enemy will have the same chance. Your chances are limited. Your enemies will take the inititative from time to time and force you to stay on defensive. This will start after tutorial f ight.

PS: A basic attack feature will be added later. For now, please use the failsafe option if battle gets s tuck.

-Mercenary band: Your band is yours to shape. Investing in them is necessary to survive. There will be group battles as well where your companions will join in. (Will be added in the winte r arc )

-Interesting companions: Both people from your past and the ones you meet in your journey will interact with the story. Some for shared interest, some for their own benefit. Beware, not everyone is honest in this worl d .

-Chasing clues: You must find the truth of what happened in the Royal Academy. For this, you will work with a shadowy group. As long as both sides can trust each other and honor their p romis e s.

-Sanity: Your sanity meter has real consequences. Too low and you start seeing things that you are not meant to see. Unless, if that’s your goal all along. Some skills will use your sanity as cost and provide great aid. ( NOTE: I designed those skills to affect the endgame. It won’t lock you out but can make things di fficu l t.)

-Choices matters: Some choices will have short or long term consequences. Sometimes you can only pick one mission, sometimes you have to do them in the order you choose. For everything you do, someone else will take a different action in the backgr o und.

First missions Village and Ruin will showcase it after the winter arc. You can’t see all missions in one playth r ough.

-Romance: There will be romance for both hetero and homo o p tions.

-Extremely low info dump: The lore will be shown with dialogues in a natural way. I avoided the wall of texts as much as possible.

Will there be a part 2 (Short answer: No)

Long answer: I planned this to be a single game that ends with main quest’s conclusion. I want to write another game in the same universe with a different character but nothing is for certain. I need to finish this one first

ABOUT AI COVER ART: Once I finish the game, an artist friend of mine will do the arts. Current one is a placeholder.

Demo

I hope you all find the demo enjoyable. Please don’t hesitate to provide feedback since it’s very v aluable for me.

I wish you all a nice day

Note for the current demo: You can choose advanced necromancy since there won’t be much use for formations yet .
