@Drazen
Oops, forgot about regnal numbers for first, will deal with that.
Just looked him up and Krum the Fearsome was knocking about at the start of the 9th century. I could bend history a tad and have him in there as he sounds like quite the character. Certainly you’ll have to deal with bulgars and slavs in the Balkans.
I imagine so. The Byzantines had about a 700 years long pain in the ass from that lot.
Loved the beggining can’t wait to see more!
Great idea, I applaud the idea of a Byzantine monarchy based game, but I hope you will continue to add in factions and things as you continue your work on this, I would really like to see the addition of religious factions into the game, it would add some conflicting sides and it would also be good if you could add in the possibility of your emperor changing their religion or creating a religiously tolerant climate.
Overall, good idea and great writing.
ohhh. it would be interesting if this became a text based story of the total war series. i feel this coming on :3
I am loving the idea of this game. I was wondering if we married into royalty if there was a status based on the rulers affection for my character. I feel that a lowly woman who married the emperor would have more affection that a high class person because the emperor gained nothing by marrying me, vs if he married someone from a higher class.
The Byzantines butted heads with other surrounding peoples throughout it’s entire existence, not just the peoples in the Baltic.
Sounds like fun! The Eastern Roman/Byzantine Empire has always been a pet interest area of mine.
@RagEgnite …Your point?
I’m just saying that there’s always some people that the Byzantines had trouble dealing with, not just the slavs.
@RagEgnite Right.
Added one more little decision to the first chapter. will have consequences later.
@Victoriya
Interesting suggestion, i’ll think about it. Then again, you could argue that the Emperor’s affection for his lowly wife might be balanced by an Emperor’s respect for/need to appease high-born family
yay for tiny update it was interesting event to decide upon
Will we get to reclaim Rome?
I think that will depend on whether or not this iis going to be a historical game or not, Although I would like to try where justinian failed…even though he didnt really fail acept on the homefront
What does it mean to be born purple? And how does it give u the right to rule?
Thats described in the game, And what gives anybody the rright to rule? This game takes back when absolute monarchies where accepted and favored by thhe people
Being born into the purple means that you are the child of the previous emperor, born during their rule. Youve been treated like a superstar from birth and have never known anything resembling a normal life.
it is a deliberate pun,
although i’m not saying you should listen to it will playing, its what some people might term a bad joke
