Mh I forgot you have to allow code diving! I think I’ll turn it on after I’ve fixed some little bugs that got reported overnight. Although I have to say, my code is more like some shameful secret I would be naturally inclined to hide lol it’s the height of inelegance

Thanks for saying so, that was actually one of the sore spots for me while writing because like… How are you supposed to write a high in a way that makes readers feel it, ya know?
Yeah Maddox blew you off hard didn’t he… And you’re right, after the pool-scene, it doesn’t resurface (pun intended) very much again, probably because it felt like it didn’t fit right in after what happened… Though maybe I’ll write sth extra there in the future, though I don’t think I can revisit this right away (need some time to clear my head, updating the game is always super emotional for some reason)

That’s totally understandable. If you’d prefer not to share your code that’s valid. I was working on my own game a while back and I had mixed feelings about sharing my code.
As a reader, I love looking at code. It allows me to get an understanding of how a game is set up. I can also see scenes that I’d never play through myself to experience in the game, or get a glimpse of scenes I had never realized were possible.
Personally, I can’t imagine anyone being judgmental about code. Code needs to be functional, it’s the story that matters and yours is fantastic

Something that’s clear to me is just how often my MC is basically told. “The band needs you, you don’t need the band.”
Right now, we’re all starting up and while I’m sure it stings our friends to keep hearing that they can stomach it because they want to just succeed in this so badly.
But I suspect it’ll stop being tolerable to keep getting passively-aggressively told that they’re sub-par in the coming years once we start to really get big.
These are cracks in the foundation of our friendships with our bandmates that can lead to larger issues.
Especially if we do launch a solo album and it blows up.

Hiya, I believe there’s a pronoun error when Zima saves male MC from the pool- they tell the boys that they almost killed “her.”
Otherwise, this is a banger ass chapter that I am enjoying very much!! Thankie for the food

I fixed it. Turns out I had accidentally typed Zima’s chosen pronoun instead of the MC’s, so since Zima was fem in your instance, she said “her”. Sorry, this kind of thing has happened thrice now in this chapter (that I know of). I must be getting old

Oh I love seeing this take on Lincoln! Don’t get me wrong, the MCs who are creeped out and want nothing to do with them are perfectly within their rights as they (Lin) are supremely off-putting. They are, however, not a downright bad person. They have never been held accountable for any wrongdoings, never been told no, never had to want for anything… that, paired with a warped view of romantic relationships, which Lin-mancers will find out where it comes from etc., resulted in the Lin we are either blessed or cursed with today. And by today I mean 2014/2015

Yep! I think you just have to fall in the pool after asking her/being rejected. There was a choice as to who could save you and I chose Zima.

going with maddox to do drugs at the party, and taking the random pill you’re offered had mc fall into the pool. just doing a line though they stumble but get caught before falling in

Wow! This update was awesome love Lin even more now!
Now that the gushing is out of the way on to the more substantial stuff this update really helped me fill in some headcanon for my socially anxious and likely autistic mc. In light of that I also want to give a shout out to one of your npc’s with a small role but big impact on my mc Marcia Simmons for taking mc into her popular clique and making highschool not hell for him anymore. I also headcanon that is where my mc developed his habit of playing with other people’s hair to calm his social anxiety and as a quid-pro quo I think he got more than decent at styling it too to the point where I think most of his new highschool clique would have expected him to become a barber, hairdresser or maybe even a makeup artist, not a rockstar, later on. I’d also like to think my mc and Marcia have kept somewhat in touch, not in the same way he’s friends with his band members obviously and it is a more shallow friendship but I’d still like to think it transitioned into that kind of adult friendship where you’re on each other’s birthday and xmas cards list and see each other once or twice per year.
Same except I am romancing Lincoln with my male mc. Fortunately for Link my mc always was and probably still is a weird kid himself so he doesn’t much care if Lin fits the expected social norms, as he never did himself either. I will say that one similarity the mc and Lin both share as certified weirdos is that they are extremely good looking. Lin, of course, is loaded too on top of that but if there is anything negative that may have come from my mc suddenly hanging out with the popular clique after getting his issues under control is finding out just how much people like his looks and how much shit that allows him to get away with. 
Yep, sometimes mc can be a needy little bastard, love that too. Even though real 'Merican men are probably not supposed to ask for hugs but screw that, right. 
While the kiss with Lin was great I think my favourite scene of the update may indeed be one where mc can be a needy little bastard and get Lin and Stevie to hug him
Yeah this update ends on such a high point…right before the foreshadowing of how it is all gonna end. 
He may get one later on, assuming he’s not dead in the present day of the interview portions of the game.
Fatima Shah, if I recall correctly, Leland’s foglight band drummer. Note that she also hasn’t been interviewed yet and likely won’t be until she officialy joins the band, which naturally is after whatever the heck is gonna happen to Maddox has happened.
I don’t really follow social media, so thanks for the update. You know Leland actually is the other guy my mc would be interested in back in the 2014/15 of the gameworld apart from Lin. Less of a looker than Lin, or Paul, but I always headcanon-ed he has the cutest Texan drawl.

There’s also the fact that in the present interview segments, Maddox doesn’t have one at all and I think it was either Angel or one of the Grahams that said that something happened to him.
I suspect that he’s going to die from a overdose and that’ll be Sophie’s fault 100%. It would also explain why we get a new drummer at some point in the future chapters

I think that was the name too. And speaking of Leland, if you haven’t seen Tumblr yet, he’ll make an appearance again by the word of the author.
But yeah, it could explain Leland’s future appearance. He knows exactly what it feels like to fight a drug addiction so I’m guessing he may try to reach out to the band after Maddox and tries to help to find a suitable replacement as respectfully as he can be.
