Polls about COG, HG, and IF games

Already mentioned how much I’m not a fan of humor in fiction (unless written well), fourth wall breaks just come across as cheap humor to me and references… I could do without :sleepy:

I dont think humor means breaking the 4th wall…and i am an improv actor…

When the writer or rather the narrator/speaker interacts with the player directly, for example by commenting on your choices. Basically the narrator acknowledges that you’re in a game/story/play/etc

it is breaching the buy-in to the fictional world created in the story by real life things and events.

Do you think there should be descriptions of characters included in CoGs?

  • Yeah, and they should be detailed.
  • Yes, they should.
  • No, I prefer to leave it vague.

That’s two options for yes and one for no, with biased commentary baked into each answer.

I like it when there are descriptions of characters - assuming you mean their physical characteristics - but not in an info dump form i.e. one big paragraph or more. I can appreciate a character’s physical description even more when whatever is being described (in small bites) is tied to their personality in some way i.e. rough looking finger nails indicate nervousness.

What bit do you think is biased?

It is possible that someone might have another reason for saying yes or no.

Just wondering what the median age of people who play CoG is.

I like medium spot romances. I don’t want them smashing in the beginning, but I also hate prolonging them getting together until the very end.

As of 7:41 EST I have been awake for a little over 26 hours and in my sleep deprived state the idea of cats and dogs enslaving humanity has been tormenting me for the past two to three hours now… sooooooo,

If mankind were to be enslaved by our furry companions which would you rather it be?

Asking for science of course!
Edit: also for game development purposes :innocent: maybe? Hopefully? Yes? Don’t judge me :sob:

  • Cat
  • Dog
  • Both
  • Why even…?

I think cats might be already halfway there.

They are just reclaiming the throne, they know what’s up :upside_down_face:

If it’s both it could maybe be interesting to like… make cat & dog clans and each claim different parts of the world but there’s tension or maybe even full on war between the clans. Of course though there’s also an underground rebellion of cats and dogs wanting to live alongside each other with no war and also maybe let the humans go but they don’t know for sure.

was Thinking about that as well

It would also be great if part of the cast were animals who couldn’t fit in with either dogs or cats…pets of the main party of course :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

For our purposes, all characters are human and look their age. If I didn’t include an option, it’s probably because “would you play a romance between two characters around the same age?” seems like a superfluous question. I also assume that age differences matter more not just if they’re larger, but depending on how young the younger character is.

It goes without saying that “if I like the RO” and “if the writing is good” are in full effect, always.
