I got to romance Ax. Get the promotion and then he’ll eventually go on a trip and invite you along. Agree, then there was this choice afterwards to come to a realization.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Just completed my first playthrough. I tried to befriend Ax and romance Felicity. I got the promotion and somehow made Ax lose the will to have money and no real options presented themselves to romance Felicity. I also became interested in MJ later in the story, but she didn’t give me any opportunities to flirt with her either. Really, the only three people that I DID have an opportunity to flirt with were the three that had no appeal to me, Gabriella, Ax, and Platt.
Also, on a note for bugs, the company went down at the end, I went to work for a mega-yacht planning company, and when it asked me what I wanted to do, one of my options was improving Platinum.
How do you romance MJ or felicity?
I’d also love some form of guide on how to pursue any of the romances.
Well, I managed to romance Felicity. One thing I did differently was not asking her what her future plans were if she got the job.
As for MJ, I saw an option to flirt with her when we were working on her travel plans and she asked if Felicity and I were dating (we were). I don’t know how it proceeds from there, because I’m loyal to my partner. However, I don’t know how to start a relationship with her without starting one with Felicity first. Maybe on my third playthrough.
did you have to fail the promotion?
No, if you do everything correctly, you can romance her in Chapter 1.
She’ll talk about how it could be awkward that you’re both going for the promotion and dating.
Oh yeah, something else I remember. Another thing I did differently was tell her that I thrive under stress after the event.
Are there any physical descriptions of the characters?
Pretty new to using this website lol so not sure if I’m doing this right but- I’m only on chapter 3 and wanted to know can a male Mc romance Platt I’ve seen people saying the things about who can romance Gabrielle so just wanted to make sure I could before I keep going.
All the ROs except Gabriella are playersexual.
I was able to romance Platt as an older guy in the demo. Got the promotion, had a good relationship with him, then directly asked him out after getting the promotion. (Might have helped that I chose to notice that he’s attractive in a previous choice.)
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this as a gameplay strategy, but when I was clicking through the game as fast as possible with the first option on every page selected to check some stuff for QA, Felix and I ended up married. A little surprised to hear it’s harder if you’re actually playing
After some code-diving, I think I found an unavailable path in Chapter 9:
You cannot choose the option *if ((painting_destroyed = false) and (you_have_painting)) #“I think you should return the painting with conditions of immunity.” because the variable you_have_painting always leads to the path where you get arrested.
I believe the option is only meant to check if the painting is destroyed, since when you are on Angela’s jet, it doesn’t matter who is holding the painting.)
Play for the romance but the romance Elude me. Hopefully there would be guides soon
I’ve played through most of the romances. I wouldn’t particularly recommend this game if romance is top priority for you.
Alright thanks for the heads up.
Okay. I freaking loved this. Based on the comments, it’s clear that there is A LOT of variety in the paths you can take. What an interesting world. I played through my first round as myself, and I certainly have some reflection to do on my career-driven goals in life. I kept thinking MJ would come back, but I don’t think I saw them again after Ch. 4. But I’m very excited to do more playthroughs. Next, I will play as anti-me and will probably end up fired. Really great storytelling here! Well done!
This game was solid and lovely. Let’s see…
Got promoted? Check.
Become CEO? Check.
Romance Felixity? Even after exposing their Maverick actions? Check. Check. Check.
Be a martial pacifist? Of course. A practical, mostly loyal and somewhat populist, with relatively lawful and good reputation and personal attunement, with alright brand awareness, but mostly emotional and can’t keep his cool. Just what I expected from a game by Emily Short.
A nice balance between slice of life and action. However, despite the wordcount, it is indeed a little on the small side, probably because of the vastly different branches at the end, leading to a huge scope. No wonder it was said to be a very ambitious project. Here’s what I would do: MJ → Ax → Felixity → Endgame, with different stages that may not be mutually exclusive. Also, have an intro stage so that the Falter gala can be one of the main stages.
I’ll probably adapt this later, for a new Maverick Hunter project, maybe?
