Great pacing, great description of battles, pretty good characters so far.
I literally slammed my desk when I saw the ‘play again’ message that marks the end of the demo.
She can be, yes. But… let’s just say its difficult.
I’ll be honest, the secrets I have planned revolve more around the Enemy than humanity.
This is kind of what I’m hoping will happen. Additionally, I’m hesitant to rework systems until I at least see how the systems I already have in place fully function. A reminder that I have a functional outline (it just doesn’t have any flavor text) so totally reworking systems involves scrapping quite a bit of stuff. That is not to say I won’t if its necessary nor is it to say I’m not appreciative of the suggestion, it just means I’d like to see how the “rep buying” stuff works before changing it entirely.
I don’t plan to have an heirloom necessarily, but you will be meeting dear ol’ Dad at the start of Chapter Three if you chose the Admiral background. As for your last question… maybe…
That’s a good idea, though achievements are probably going to be one of the last things I implement just so I don’t oversaturate any one pathway, Chapter, or location. Also, thank you for your kind words. Happy you enjoyed it!
Great catch, thank you! I’ll add it to the list for the update.
That makes me very happy lol. I’ve been blown away by the incredible reception of the game so far and all of your kindness and willingness to engage with the work. It has been amazing, so thank you!
Only if the MC is a high enough rank and reputation, because awarding medals to subordinates who didn’t do much is frowned on according to Guns of Infinity
A few people have asked for this and I think it’s a great idea. So yes… I just need to figure out what kind of medals exist in universe. Thanks for the support!
It’s important to remember that acceptance into the Academy is based off an assessment that applicants must pass that primarily measures aptitude. The way I see it the MC has the same innate abilities whether they’re 8 or 18, but the negative mods applied to younger starts represent the fact that even though they’re brilliant they still don’t have the life experience or education of an older MC.
Suggestion: what if some of the medals are named after admirals or high ranking officers in the fleet like “The Cross of Admiral Williams” or something like that?, it would make much more sense since the people look up to Officers if i am not mistaken
of course there needs to be a german sounding genius officer , I absolutely love it I will be keeping track on updates.
I’m not sure if it’s mentioned but I hope you can also customize your fleet to a extend or ship and the type I know that probably will cost a lot of time but even if not maybe I thrown in a idea for you I could see some synergy with it with x stat how it works with different type of ships and specializitation.
I agree, and think this is already in mind. For example, a char with high adaptability could probably be more effective with multiple fighter squads, a ton of fast, agile swarm fighters. Whereas a char with low adaptability would likely be better off with higher quality, low quantity deployments.
That’s in the plan. But are you sure you want that? Are you ready to order him somewhere he might not come back from?
You’ll see a little of this in Chapter 4. I might expand on it more seeing as a few people have asked for similar things. And thank you for your interest!
Alright folks, I just pushed another update. This one changed a few things and will likely be the last update before I get to work on Chapter 3 (barring any errors of course). Here’s a quick summary of the changes…
Added more unique text for eight year old starts
Added a reputation consideration before the final battle
Slightly lowered the intelligence gain of a Admiral upbringing
Added a “Supplemental Materials” section in the stats menu. It includes information on the structure of the United Fleet, the ranks of Officers in the Fleet, in universe technologies (including artificial gravity), and descriptions of vessel classes
Minor typo fixes
Minor coding mistakes
The effectiveness of practicing with your fleet in the lead up to the Wagner fight is now determined by intelligence rather than adaptability. While this is a minor narrative and coding change it could easily change the effectiveness of any current “build”. This will effect the difficulty of the last battle so any new feedback in that regard would be a great help.
Other stuff I’ve probably forgotten about
Hope you all enjoy the changes! I’d of course welcome any new feedback, thank you once again for the continued support, and I hope to get you all Chapter 3 as soon as possible!
