Oh I must have missed some questions from your post. Sorry about that. From reading the original thread, there hasn’t been any info on how the sequel will pan out but if it’s any other sequels, I do hope it will have choices that carry over. For those who follow the thread religiously, feel free to correct me since I might have missed a post or two.
Just finished my first play through and I made it till the very very end without ever dying or reloading till I foolishly decided to go hero mode one Vs three. Was probably drunk on my previous successes. Really great game btw. One of its kind. Hope to see more from you in the future
No. You can’t save them
Is there no way to win the tournament? I keep losing to the rapist knight.
You can, but it probably takes a decently high combat stat. Be sure to choose options that makes sense with your gear in the fight.
No. Lord Dulsen and other ladies their will always die
If your MC dies at the Summit and has either Knowledge > 60 or Social >= 50, using the Sight your MC goes back in time to the summons to the Summit and can change the outcome of the Summit saving everyone except Lord Dulsen so far as I know. I am not aware of any path that involved going to the Summit where Lord Dulsen survives.
So far as I know: If your MC in this game is still alive and in charge, it will be the same MC in the sequel. If your MC died but had a legitimate heir, then it will be your heir as the MC in the next game. I’m not sure who is the MC in the sequel if your current MC is imprisoned but with your heir free.
You need at least 10 of your knights still alive at that point to catch him.
The highest combat check in that fight requires combat > 55 but as @Hakumei88 mentioned, some of that depends on picking tactics that suit your gear so lower may be possible with optimal tactics.
Thanks for the helpful post. (Now I need to replay and purposely die at the Summit.)
Anyway about the tournament. Is the only way to win if I declare myself winner? The judges always decided that noone should be winner, tho that didn’t happen when MC didn’t take part. That I find weird, they named the third best winner even tho they got beaten either by the knight or Sister Myra (don’t remember which one exactly, but they don’t name MC winner even if they beat everyone.
EDIT: Nevermind, @Kalpana was correct that there is a way for the jury to declare the MC winner by the MC reaching the semi-finals.
Oh did not realize that. Thanks
There is a way to win the tournament. You actually have to lose before final i think. There is also an achievement for this i think.
@Kalpana You are correct.
My Mistake, I went and doublechecked the Source Code and just missed that. You have to make it to the semi-final. Thank you for the correction.
*label juryDecideWinner
They argue for quite some time, but in the end, they settle on the winner:
*if enrolled = false
*set winner "Sir Avran"
Sir Avran, the Knight of the Broken Chord.
*goto overallDecisions
*if lostFirstBattle = true
*set winner "Tashana"
Tashana, the Mad Frog from Boglan.
*goto overallDecisions
*if lostSecondFight = true
*set winner "Sir Avran"
Sir Avran, the Knight of the Broken Chord.
*goto overallDecisions
*if foughtAtSemiFinals = true
*set winner "yourself"
you.
While I’m at corrections:
In answer to a different question I missed and then initially answered incorrectly in case others also have this question:
Your MC needs Social >= 30 to pretend to join Noyedas. (I suppose you could join him for real, but it won’t end well.) If you are only pretending to join Noyedas, then feel free to warn Dulsen. Let Sir Brendell take your MC’s spouse captive if you have one. Just play along with Noyedas while he meets Dulsen trying unsuccessfully to get Dulsen to surrender. Jenneth will visit your MC’s tent in the army camp that night. Your MC telling Jenneth that the MC needs her is the first romance opportunity.
Thank you, because of my high social i managed to see the sight! But know i need to choose a word so i can be assisted. I chose king and it was wrong. Do you know what the word is?
Well what I did was I went to the summit, I lost in combat, but then I resisted death then I chose the social choice and I got sent back to the past. I don’t know what the word that you are talking about is
How can you get the thirsty ruler achievment
I believe I chose the third option
In my opinion, conspiracy, allegedly: 2/10
(I don’t like saying this often, but it’s just not worth the five dollars I paid for it.)
Three things that doomed the game for me was:
-
Bugs, bugs, bugs, and more bugs. Maybe it’s just me, but there were a lot of bugs when the game got released. After I updated the game, I thought everything would be fixed, but I still have some bugs. For example, when I go into the cheat menu, and I max out combat, knowledge, and social, some choices in the game are still grey out, and I can’t choose them.
-
The random events when I hold court are a hot mess, mostly, it is because some events require another event to happen first, yet in my gameplays, they never happen in order.
-
The third has to be that when playing a female, I can sleep with anything under the sun, but when playing as a male, it’s all females, females, and more females. Male romances for the male are like bread crumbs. (If the excuse for this is going to be related to the olden times, then I don’t want to hear it.)
I wished the same energy for the romances were kept the same for female and males.
It’s a shame because this could have easily been an 8/9 out of 10 for me, but as it is now, it’s a 2/10.
The “fighting the system” bit is decided when you choose to create a new religion. It’s a long term “social engineering” plan that will only bear true consequences in the future.
The difference between Jenneth and Vradnir is mostly that she is less willing(and thus in need of more convincing), whereas Vradnir himself is the one who at some point says that he is “willing to fight those who oppose his love”. It has to do with the personality of both characters; Jenneth is deceptive, Vradnir likes to take his problems head on.
You have to agree with him to destroy the body of the monster instead of keeping it, and then spend some time with him in the woods afterward.
Yup! On Steam and on the App Store and on Amazon as well.
This option should appear if you speak with the Archpriest and/or the Archpriestess on the local temple IIRC.
EDIT: I just checked the code and it seems there’s a problem with the variable for this, I’ll fix it asap.
I thnk it is either a bug or I need to clarify better the meaning of the “mend things” prompt during the timeksip.
@Norilinde might be right once again. I’ll check it out, thanks for the report.
Mostly political reasons, as he doesn’t want to give up his claim to the northern throne, and I assume the player doesn’t want to give their claim to their land either. Granted, as someone said in the other thread, there are likely historical examples of something like that happening, so it is something that I might add in the future.
I’m planning the sequel to have many different beginnings. I’ll be explaining this in detail sometime in the future, as soon as everything is properly organized. I think the “Act 1” of the next part is going to be really interesting.
IIRC choosing the “Lie” is the easier way to don’t die.
Thank you! People probably have already answered your question, but you can romance Jenneth either by pretending to join Noyedas or by speaking to her during a few of the endings to the game. Most options here require high Social, though.
Female MCs rulers can, of course, deny his marriage proposal and choose to fight him. The battle is difficult, but the likely of success can depend on whether you are suffering a siege or meeting him in the field, as well as the number of troops you have. Recruiting and training troops is a very important element here.
Yes, you have to “go back” after seeing their deaths.
No, you go back to right before you took off to the Summit.
The choices will be carried over, one way or another. If people don’t want to replay the game after the automated “carrying over” is implemented(or if they want to play 2 without playing 1), I’ll add something similar to the Dragon Age Keep feature, where you answer questions to set the game world state. Pillars of Eternity 2 had it as well.
They do have the same background, but they are very different from one another I think they are more fleshed out then the male ROs. And there’s also Danna for male MCs.
The right gear and high Combat are important here, but there should be some options that help you along the way regardless of stats. Not drinking the water on the way up, for example.
You have to “shake on it” with Daedros after going to the Summit a second time. He will invite you if you have prevented his plans from happening. He’ll consider himself defeated and will try to add you to the secret society he belongs.
That’s an interesting outcome. I’ll add it to my annotations.
I might only have checked if the MC was married, not if she had sex before. Seems like a good opportunity for a joke indeed.
Also makes sense. I’ll add it as well, thank you.
It can happens sometimes, as the date to Noyedas invasion is randomized between 150 to 200 days. The game should have content for more than 200 days, but some of that content might be consequentional to a few decisions, and it doesn’t appear in all playthroughs. It’s something I want to fix in the future by adding more “vanilla” events. I do want to keep the date for the invasion randomized because the season can affect the battle in the open field in a lot of ways.
It is revealed in one of the epilogues, in which you have a vision of her interacting with your father before he died.
This should happen by the end of the battle as long as he is alive and you are winning. What happened during that part of your playthrough?
It is as @Hakumei88 and @Norilinde said, good gear, good stats and the right tactics.
I might be crazy, but I think you can win the tournament both ways.
There are two files with similar content regarding the end of the tourney, so that’s probably why me and some of the people who looked at the code are having some confusion with the possible outcomes, hehe.
It’s a reference to the Cardeed cards and their “symbolic power”. The strongest card is a Lie, and it is a Lie that you need here in order to tell yourself that you haven’t died.
Complaint 1:
Can you give some examples of the bugs you experienced? I only got a couple of reports so far, and one was by someone using the cheat system, which(as warned by the game) can give unexpected bugs.
Which choices did you have greyed out, for example? It might be that they required something other than stats.
Complaint 2:
Also, can you give more details about what’s the problem with the hold court events? Some only happen after certain conditionals are met, yes, but I didn’t get exactly what went wrong during your gameplay. Did something appear when it shouldn’t? If so, what was it?
Complaint 3:
There is a similar number of RO for both males and females. As for same-sex interactions, males can have Vradnir and Kenrir, females can have Nada and Jenneth.
It’s okay to don’t like the game for any particular reason, but I would really appreciate if you could be more specific with some of your complaints. If there’s anything wrong with the game, I want to fix it.
Sorry for bothering you with more questions after you answered so many, but any news about the loading option upon MCs death?
(Can’t wait to being able to experiment with the game more freely without having to restart the whole game every time I reach a bad end.)
