The Aether: Life as a God is a 60,000 word interactive fantasy novel by A. Reddwolf, where your choices control the story. It’s entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

• Create a custom mortal race.
• Engage in mortal affairs.
• Travel the Aether and steal power from lesser beings.
• Dabble in political affairs at The Court of Gods.
• Battle other gods in epic one one one conflicts.
• Complete unique quests and events with impactful outcomes.

A. Reddwolf developed this game using ChoiceScript, a simple programming language for writing multiple-choice interactive novels like these. Writing games with ChoiceScript is easy and fun, even for authors with no programming experience. Write your own game and Hosted Games will publish it for you, giving you a share of the revenue your game produces.

Really like this game. I had high hopes for it and it did deliver exactly what I desired. I believe this will be a great year for Hosted games which will score on every front.

Wow! The demo for this game was really interesting–it’s the first time I’ve been sorely tempted to pay money to get a full CoG. I especially enjoyed interacting with my mortals and influencing things with them.

This sounds fun, I’ll have to check it out. Hope there’s an option to play a God where they aren’t sure you did anything at all (those Gods are my favorite).

Nvm I see what happened now.

I’m reading this right now and it seems quite interesting. I think I encountered a bug, though. I chose for my planet to be a peaceful one comprised of herbivores, but now one of my worshippers is saying that he’s being mocked by the hunters for being a weak gatherer.

Maybe they just have some really vicious tomatoes on that planet.

will be out on steam?

My bet would be no. They get a limited number of Steam releases a year and have mentioned before that the Steam community tends to be down on shorter titles.
