Mind Blind (01/31 Demo Update. A Story Where You Are NOT The Chosen One!)

Well, if me and my MC have something in common its that we know that we’ll never really know anybody, even the ones we love and nor they us, because we haven’t lived their lives nor have they ours. It’s just a leap of faith.
(P.S.- Sorry if I’m being too philosophical and shit😅)

Noh being responsible for Nick having a blast does seem too “easy.”

Suspiciously so.

After that last update, it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the intention.

We obviously don’t know who’s really responsible for the fireworks yet, but of course we’ll all automatically blame Noh first, since they are the only person introduced with the capabilities or at least the motive of putting on that grand of a show.

In the end we might just be playing into Jo’s hands and overthinking this entire debacle.

I just wanted to know: is the first exercise a supposed to lose fight? Where, no matter what we pick Sally is unable to win against Nox?

No, there are ways to win! Not in the straight-up sense though. Sally can never really beat Nox “fair and square”: the only ways to do it are either to 1) convince Glitch to throw the match, 2) fake Nox out with a vision of Annie and Cass, or 3) block Nox from ever entering the room. These are all dependent on choices you make prior, and occasionally the stats that you have going in.

Just as you typed that did I manage to get the first victory condition: convince Glitch to throw the match. Now onto the others! Any tips (not spoilers) on what I should look out for in order to get the other two routes?

mm well, to win the second way, you’ll have to go the puppy route on the way to Aeon. that’s a spoiler in itself, sorry.

to win via the third, there are two ways to go about it! you have to either raise up one particular “I” stat or do a certain action when inside the room (unfortunately you’ll have to forgo socializing with Glitch to do this ).

You can also “pepper-spray” poor K, but only if you’re just, like, spiteful enough. :stuck_out_tongue:

…right. I forgot about that. :grimacing: yikes, sorry, K.

Same. But in this case… Someone that nearly got best brother Nicky-Mouse killed?! (I’m sticking with this version! Since I refuse to believe that he is… dead. :sob:) That’s a hard pass for me.

I really hope so, the last update had more then enough angst for my liking. If in the next few chapters I will discover that any of them (Gray :two_hearts:) is secretly the “big bad wolf” of the story… I… Just no. :see_no_evil:

Honestly tho, for now I think it was all Noh’s doing in one way or another. Even if it might seem a bit convenient.

we stan Nick too much to stand for this disrespect.

fingers crossed! :crossed_fingers:t4:

Maybe it’s a different party all together, like the cultist uncle?

This implication just suddenly hit me and I apologise if it’s already been said, but-

Speculation#1

Considering we don’t know the reasoning for it yet, it’s possible for Noh to simply cause the attack to show that people aren’t safe no matter who or where they are (It’s clearly been hinted at by both Satan and Rosy+Button) Terrorist Noh is truly thriving.

Speculation#2

This one I’m a bit iffy about, considering Button can already be taken over easily. But the explosion was meant to create a situation that causes Button to be fully emotionally vulnerable (reactions to it will of course be different) making it easier for Noh to control them without any complications. Eliminating Nick-knack could just be a 2 birds with 1 stone situation, getting rid of one of the biggest barriers in their plan.

Not related to the current discussion, but a question for the author: Will we actually get a chance to dump coffee over K’s head? (Or at least water. Ice-cold water, preferably.) Not that I don’t like them, but still…

On the other hand it will make for some awesome angst and a route I haven’t really played in many CoG games, being the one with unrequited affections and having to deal with it. Interesting drama!

I probably need to replay but is there some romance content with K already in the demo? When I played through I was more focused on Sam and also becoming acquainted with the game and setting.

Yes, they can drive you to school in the morning, you have to go check after the dogs in the beginning instead of walking or the subway. That’s it so far.

Yeah tried to go the puppy route but couldn’t even make it to the exercise scene before quitting the attempt. That’s a line too far for me.
@SourPeachesWhere can I find the pepper spray?

For the pepper spray, choose the eggs and hot sauce option when Nick offers you food in the morning. When choosing your plan for the assignment, there is an option where you can use the hot sauce as a weapon

Wow I LITERALLY would’ve never come across that because I would’ve never expected that to actually be an option.

Adding to what @Skillzerk said, having high Innovative (>24) is also necessary, otherwise it will just blow up in Sally’s face.
