You caught most the clues! (And one writing issue on my part. The dog names were meant to be a spoken question, but I was still figuring out how to differentiate between speech and thoughts when I wrote Kās route. Iāll fix it to make it clearer in the rewrite, since Button probably would have noticed preemptive answering of their question.)
Also (and this is to everyone) PLEASE never hesitate to bring anything that bothers you to my attention. Iām incredibly opinionated. I will never change something in my writing if I feel itās importantābut reader feedback is essential to improving! Especially in regards to the humor.
Humor can be tricky to write, and I have absolutely no objection to tweaking a joke here and there to make sure that everyone chuckles. (Except Scientologists. I will never stop making jokes about Scientology, sorry.) I strongly believe that no one should ever have to just ārelax and take a jokeā. Jokes are meant to be gifts, not something forced upon people. Culture can also shape how things come across, so itās important for you guys to tell me since my perspective may not match yours. Againādoesnāt meant that Iāll change anything, but Iād rather make informed decisions than oblivious ones.
I reviewed the part about Nick and Gray, and will be leaving it in for now (unless I think of something better, or it arises as an issue again during beta testing). I really appreciate your feedback, though, and hope youāll continue to provide it in the future!
Iāll try to be short, donāt want to blow out things, but i feel like it needs to be said.
Do not send authors hate, do not send people hate. Do not send people hate for liking characters. These are fictional characters in fictional world. If you are incapable of constructive critique, maybe take a step back from the internet to cool off.
I though it might need to be said, because i feel like people sometimes forget themselves and incapable of distinguishing fiction from reality.
If this comment is wrong to leave in this thread, iāll delete it of course, if asked.
Just finished the demo, and I can say without a doubt in my non-ment mind that I will buy this game the minute it comes out. I love the premise. I love the characters. I love your writing. Keep up the good work.
Since I wasnāt sleeping anyway, I decided to go on a Photoshop binge and make some neat things.
Neat Things!
My Gray and Button, from Artbreeder. Gray started as Chris Evans but somehow ended up looking more like Zac Efron. Button is model Viviane Marmelstein.
I had previously played the Dog and Metro Routes and now i just played the walking route. I thought I was fine with my one playthrough whoās going to romance Kent but after meeting Gray in chapter three I decided to experiment and then was unexpected to meet gray in the walking scene and that flashback with him and the cookies was adorable <3. I think this and the wayhaven chronicles are the only books on here where I like so many of the ROās. Ambrose also really intrigues me.
Mkay, so ignore the fact that I havenāt replied yet since I promised I would but I would just like to sayā
DONāT.
I havenāt played the update yet, but as someone who loves angst :'D I loved the snot-filled reaction I had to reading Buttonās tragic backstory and Iām even more excited to see how youāve come to torture us with this update.
Hey, Iām not sure if youāre aware of this, but there seem to be some issues with saves disappearing whenever Mind Blind updates. I thiiiink this is because youāve been changing the identification name in the *sm_init command, which is how Dashingdon tracks where saves get stored.
Regarding the update itself: The suppressor thing seemsā¦interesting. Not sure what to think about that just yetāthe first (and so far only) MC Iāve played through the update with isnāt especially interested in meeting Hope again either way (maybe one of the others will be?), but the point about it potentially being useful for Sally mightāve piqued her interest. Will have to see how that subplot develops, I suppose.
Based on the comments youāve made about Nickās future role in the story and possible fates for the character, I think itās pretty obvious that he isnāt dead, butā¦the fact that he didnāt respond does suggest that something mightāve happened to him. Maybe that hypothetical scenario about Nick needing a kidney donor wonāt be so hypothetical after all.
Yeah, the save issue is me changing the name. I play around a lot with the stats trying to perfect the balance of which flavor dialogue triggers (itās a work in progress). Carrying over saves between updates would break the game, and makes it hard to tell me which is an update issue and what is an actual bug from player feedback.
I never believed reading something would cause me as big of a headache as this did. Also I donāt know if I should be concerned by the fact the relationship stat page broke me more than the event itself.
