Lost in your eyes (WIP) [February 4 2026 Update] [6 Ch, 260K words] [Vampires/Romance/Modern Dark Fantasy]

Update time!

This week hasn’t been that productive unfortunately.

I was able to write around 6K words, out of which around 3K words were deleted. I’m kind of struggling to get my creative juices flowing Idk why.

Some coding changes here and there, but nothing too game breaking (Hopefully XD)

That’s pretty much it! I know it isn’t much but slow and steady wins the race! I am gonna try to pump out a chapter the week after the next. Also, I was questioned if I would divide the book into 2 parts, and I’ve decided that I rather not.

Update time!

This week was somewhat productive, I was able to write in around 5K words, bringing this chapter to a total of 7K words.

I don’t know if I’d be able to post an update on next week’s monday because the MC can choose an ending on this chapter. So that brings an additional 4-5K words to what that entails and even glimpses far into the future of what will happen in the book.

I would say the update would be around 5-7th of feb. Thanks for sticking with me you guys!

Can’t see pendant stats design despite getting notified that I should b able to?

pendant stats design? Oh, you mean how long till you get to the next stage of power level?

Update time!

Alright, chapter 6.1 is coming in quite nicely, if not slowly.

I was busy this week unfortunately, so I was only able to write around 4K words. Bringing chapter 6.1 into 11K words.

Changes to pendant stats have been made, I realized that I hadn’t put that in so it should show you the MC’s power level on the stat page on the next update.

Will be updating Public chapter on the 4th and then the Patron update (Hopefully) between 7th and 11th. The Patron update got a bit pushed back due to irl issues (work :sob:)

That’s mostly it! Thanks for sticking with me you guys and see you all next week! <3

Oh my god, I love Melissa so much. She’s so cute and sweet. And, along with Elisabeth… ah, I’m melting with love.

Hi! I found a pronoun error at the beginning of chapter 2. Edit:The second one is a little later in the chapter.

Yeah… I wish she were male. I’ve noticed this a few times with the character living inside MC’s pendant/A. while reading. Got my hopes up thinking I had been misgendering her the whole time.

I don’t want to say anything bad about the writer, because I’m sure that coding is a complicated thing. I would probably make a lot more mistakes if I were her. Nevertheless, it is very disturbing that characters set as women are regularly addressed as men, and after many of these, I unfortunately have a hard time seeing them as women. Which, unfortunately, makes it quite difficult to romance them.I’m curious, does it happen the other way around? Are ROs set as male treated as female?

It’s most likely just a coding issue. It might not be something that needs to be taken too seriously.

The issue with A is, until a few months ago, they were basically a male and weren’t going to be a romanceable option. Then I was convinced that the were a romanceable option, same with Solathis. Which kinda opened a can of worms cause Solathis is now a female and Adrian who was a male can now be a female. Of course I changed Adrian’s behavior and a lot of his/her dialogues to fit the character and give each character it’s own way of handling things but it did leave behind the dreaded pronoun issues.

It’s not a complicated thing, it’s more of an issue that, when you’ve read something millions of times, my brain kinda glosses over these things. Most beta readers that have helped me out chose a male RO which is why there aren’t a lot of female pronoun issues.

Ngl I have been taking it seriously but honestly it’s mostly an inability from my end

So the character we interact with through the pendant has been rewritten and is now female only, disabled for gay paths and force-set to female? I’m playing the gay route and they have always been female for me. I haven’t looked into the code; never beta tested the game. Whichever it is, oh my, this will take time fixing. Well, that’s what the beta is for anyway.

I was just trying to keep my response non-inflammatory. What I meant is I’m not particularly sensitive and don’t see any major issue here. Sure, it’s something to be fixed, but not worth feeling taken-aback over. I understand some might find it, quote “disturbing” but I struggle to follow that perspective. I just did not want to invalidate the commenter in any way. The first time the issue popped up, I second-guessed myself; the second time around, I found it funny how she switched genders willy-nilly. I mean, she is a (non)god, soooo…

Adrian is straight, so they’re basically male for a Female MC and Female for Male MC (mostly cause they’re old school centuries old soooo yeah, it was either that or going down Vale/Vivian’s route except Vale/Vivian can be convinced, I just didn’t want to break any one’s heart (Plus also it’s cause it’s hard for me to do different kind of coding for different genders since fem and male Adrian have their own distinct personality, add a specific gender-chosen reaction to MC’s specific gender which is 4 different lines, on top of romance reactions then friends reaction… you get the point)

That is true XD and no worries, it’s non-inflammatory so you’re good ^-^ if anything, you basically hyped me up to do better so be proud <3

Thanks! I actually genuinely enjoy gender/orientation-coded characters. If anything, it lets you write and flesh out details, arc related interactions and intimate scenes in a more coherent way. I just hadn’t anticipated that here.
I’ve gotten so used to writers trying to accommodate every possible route that I didn’t see it coming. And this is coming from a guy who internally eye rolls so hard at most trigger warnings, especially when they’re for something as minor as hugs or touch aversion. I loved Field of Asphodel but the constant asking for permission to hug was so cringe. It was coded so poorly that it kept asking even after you’d already given permission. I was cringing hard throughout the entire game. They asked like 50 times throughout my play. I was like, sure, protect me from everyday stuff I will inevitably see people doing out in town if you really want to, but, oh boy, it was so cringe.
You didn’t mention the gender-lock in your plot summary, did you? Or maybe I missed it. Anyway, this definitely makes sense now.

How far are we into the story, anyway? Are we still at the start, in the middle or is this already the end? It feels like there’s still so much potential for further story development. I’m not sure how long you imagine your story going.

Wait I came to express my amazement at this beautiful story, gorgeous dialogue plots for personalities; gender choice and the chef’s-kiss writing, as well as point out a few mistakes I thought were worth mentioning but now I’m shocked, has it ended as in finished type of ended as this? I really hope not because I have to assume we died or something, as well as failed in practically every aspect, awfully depressing ending. Very intrigued to see how this unfolds if not, so I’m clasping my hands together and wishing upon a star this isn’t the true ending.

As for the mistakes:

(SPOILER FOR ANY NEW PEOPLE TO THE STORY) my spoiler blur seems not be be working when I send the reply so just a warning

Alex’s chosen gender was a male for me yet at the very end lines the genders seemed to be mixed up, also happened with Solathis as well, A LOT more often, left me wondering what exactly their gender was supposed to be? Started of as male, went to female, went back to male then ended of as female if I remember correctly from my playthrough? Not sure if it’s a bug or purposeful.I never replied to Marcus in my choices, even though I scrolled through the emails but still got this piece of dialogue.

Thought I’d let you know, hopefully they help! Massive, massive props to you for creating this masterpiece. Hope all is well; much love <3 P.S (this is purely for my own satisfaction) IS JOHN ROMANCABLE? PLEASEEEEEEE, MY GODDDD

Solathis is supposed to be only female, but that was a recent decision on the author’s part to balance the ROs. It’s because Vigil is a “secret” option, and he’s only male, so to prevent skewing toward a more masculine RO cast, Solathis was updated. If you find those instances, it would probably help Kathy quite a bit to have those sent in as screenshots, too.

Of course John’s an RO, too. It’d be rather atypical for a non-RO to be gender-selectable, not that it hasn’t happened before with sibling characters and the like. It’s usually only ROs with that treatment, though.

Just re-read this for the first time in a while and I loved it!!

Ran into a few things such as pronouns errors etc which I’m sure you already aware of, also the last two images wouldn’t display + The power level tab never got unlocked for me so I’m guessing the lorepowerlevels stat never got set to true? idk though but I really enjoyed reading and can’t wait for chapter 6!
