You know, I donāt think Iāve seen season 2 yet. Hmmm, Iāll have to do something about that. 
There will be a lot of achievements, and yes, there will be some in-jokes there too. Iād like to make this one absolutely FILLED with hidden achievements. So yes, if a series of things fits a famous fictional captain, that would be fun.
Youāre absolutely right. Iāve combined these two shows in my head for years, although I knew they were different.
I like that. I hope to find the perfect balance between giving a lore-filled game, but not letting it feel like itās an info-dump. I donāt want anyone to feel that they have to read a manual before playing, but at the same time, I want people to be able to search out and submerse themselves in a fully developed world at their leisure. Ya, thatās all. No biggie.
Iāll have this, for sure. :). Iāve been trying hard to put several big choices through the game. Itās so important for both replayability and for being able to do as you want. Our poor hero can have a very tragic life with lots of loss.
Well, my kids love Animal Crossing. Itās nice that you canāt rush ahead. Hopefully itāll give them a little something to look forward to each day during these extended isolation days. Lets them run around, catch bugs, and fish, so far. Hopefully the real weather catches up and we can do it in the real soon enough.
Now comes the real trouble. I canāt let myself play it too much. Must keep writing!

The main attraction of season 2 discovery for me was this guy. I mean I donāt really like those slang terms but damn heās hot even if he isnāt exactly 20 anymore.
Which brings me to my point, instead of romancing crew members I guess Iād rather have a super hot fellow star ship captain.

Other than that discovery was never my favourite because I never connected quite well with its lead character and the show was less of an ensemble than the Next Generation that I grew up with (Yes, Picard was the lead of the Next Generation but to me it never felt as forced as Burnham and I likely connected more with Picard too).
Good point, given this authorās previous games I simply assumed that, but it doesnāt hurt to ask.

I mean one can occasionally debate the morality of a space captain dating any of the crew under their commandā¦ but then that never stopped James Kirk or Jean Luc Picard or Commander Shepard.

Thatās a good choice. IIRC, transporters were a way to move characters around in The Old Series without having to spend a lot of money. But later on they always had to come up with a reason that transporters wouldnāt be a solution to certain plot problems. āLock onto their signatures and transport them into deep space. Yes, you have my permission to remove the safety interlocks.ā
On the other hand, the holo-deck seemed like a way to change up the genre but keep the same show. If a player wants that then they can just go play a different hosted game. Heck, maybe you want to subtly steer them via VR to your other games.

Absolutely. There are 6 main friends/RO, and Iāve wrote their intros in a special way to organically allow the 6 characters to have multiple genders. It might need a little tweaking so that it looks good, but Iām trying and I have a good start.

Yes, although I donāt have a good/evil stat. I hope to have some choices that will be pretty evil, but it has to fit within the scope of the game. So, evil actions, but either getting away with them or not being bad enough to get fired. So, weāll have to see how it goes.
Okay, Iāll mention it, just because you nailed it. A popular VR game in the future is Heroes of Daria. Itās an optional storyline, but it has a lot of VERY familiar situations in it.
Now, back to work with me. Iāve reread/edited chapters 8 and 9, and now Iām back to writing chapter 10. I see this being either 12 or 13 chapters in total at this point. I just havenāt decided whether to split up the last two or keep them together. Iāll have to see once theyāre written and then decide if I put a chapter break in there or not.

Sci Fi often has macguffins which were designed to move the plot around. See the sonic screwdriver in Doctor Who.

- Getting zapped to unknown bit of space and āvoyagingā home
- Evil parallel universe!
- Clones or doubles
- Time travel mishaps of the week (probably with some references to Paradox Factor)
- Implication that the Daria games are on an as yet undiscovered planet!
- Misunderstood aliens who are actually nice, the humans are the bad guys in this case!
- Super secret underground organisation that does all the dubious stuff the squeaky clean guys wonāt!

So tealāc is like an enhanced human how has a like a parasite like aline living in him that grants him a long life and slightly enhanced strength. But the aliens are more in control basically the human is just the vasel for them. But some live in harmony together and switch out control. Their is alot more to it but it would be alot to explain so ill leave a link.

Wow, itās practically a To-Do list for any respectable space-faring game. I have to admit, I think I have a little over half of these things occuring.
I kind of remember that now. I think I watched a half-season, or maybe a full one or two, way WAY back.

Iām a big fan of Mass Effect and anything similar to that type of story.
