Have a typo, no matter how much Leon maybe waifu material, I dont think that was meant

You stumble along and pretend everything is fine, when none of this is fine. Your dreams had lied to you so sweetly—had given you ten years of happiness with your friends and family. Happiness with Leon as your wife

I just confused about how the game still states the MC’s parent still alive while in fact they were killed by Julian

P.S: Oh nevermind it seems MC forget about that because of Nessa’s magic (damn I hate her so much)…

Honestly the mc needs to learn that spell and do it back on Nessa, except turn it from paradise to hell.

Wouldn’t be worth it. Judging from how the spell works, once the victim knows how it works and what’s happening, all they need to do is figure out the trigger to break it and once the MC got to that point, it wasn’t that hard

Just read the new update. so there’s a possibility of Asteria still been active, and the fact that she was and still is a raging scumbag. There’s also the possibility of the sun and moon artifacts been the key to a possible reincarnation or body snatching

Well, played through the new update.

And now, more than ever, I feel compelled to play a very skeptical MC. Cressida and Cyrus do NOT deserve that.

Did you say compelled?

But seriously, these people, jeez, it’s like reality is contorting just to make this specific group of people as miserable as humanly possible and as inhumanly possible

Perhaps not the best word to use.

My personal theory is that the Mc is actually Asteria reincarnated, just as Cressida and Cyrus were the sacrificed twins in previous lives. This would also be a connection to Mc being called the Second Coming of Asteria in the dream world.

Hello, is it possible to not kill the goons in the beginning of the demo? They always die idk why

Nah, the mc does it by accident they never planned to. How you respond to it is your only choice

Hey I was replaying the demo and noticed that in chapter 5 when i grab the artifact my character just passes out rather than leading to the scene with the frostbite girl and Dominic. What stats am I missing that forces this choice?

You can trick Dominic by keeping him talking if you have 40+ cunning, that’s one of the guaranteed ways to do it

So I’ve played the beta twice now and the first 5 chapters are really good, about on par with the quality of the first two books. However everything after that starts to dip with each subsequent chapter, though this may be put this down due to still being in development as with a lot of this. I do have a few comments about it and questions about future updates.

Questions:

Summary
  1. What stats are needed to not lose control when you take the sun Artifact? I’d assume Willpower but how much? Can you not kill anyone at all or is it either blow up the entire palace or toast a few people?

  2. Will the full release take into account everything you did in past books? I ask as choosing to set stats directly does not provide every choice you can do in the previous books. Things it misses are stuff like what secrets you learned, the stories for the race you choose (such as kitsune being trained by one in the woods, who is quite important) etc. And if so will they play any effect into the story especially after the secrets where quite hard to get if you didn’t stat into getting them or make the ‘Right’ choices.

  3. Is it possible NOT to kill anyone? At every chance I try to make the choices not to kill anyone but no matter what someone will die.

Summary

I hope the stuff with the artifact, Nessa’s dream and the possible hallucinations of your Parent(s) gets tightened up more on full release. At the moment it feels very confusing and hard to follow, at times it feels like control is taken away from the player and you only get to choose approved responses that fit a character rather than the players character. It also feels very weird to go from being a Keeper and trying to get used to that to suddenly having people/your character think you’re a god when you haven’t even done anything to show that.

There seems to be very few chances to improve your mental health, every choice either seems to make a negative impact or none at all even when it seems like it should. I cannot stop having a mental breakdown.

There are times where the friends don’t feel like friends, more like caretakers or owners. For example Seraphina takes you to Egypt to find Asteria’s tomb but never tells you that until she’s found out to have hidden the real reason. You’d think that as friends and increasing her emotions she would tell you the true reason for the trip as she would trust that you’d do it, especially considering you did all this other stuff with her that she didn’t lie about. A few of the other friends take a backseat too if you’re not in a relationship with them, the most obvious being Kol, Altair and Thalia (to a lesser degree) all of whom become background characters. Kol doesn’t say much until meeting him at the museum to look at Asteria art, while Altair doesn’t say anything. The main focus seems to be on Sera, Astrid, Yakov and Leon as they seem quite involved with the story.

Regardless of any of these comments or how I feel about some parts I am still looking forward to this, I don’t know if this will be finished this year or next but I can’t wait

Answers to your questions, no, yes, and no

Was it me maybe? I did post a complaint about the angst and forced mental breakdowns feeling out of character starting from book 1 when killing Reyna is always treated like something that traumatizes you even if you pick you don’t care. Same with killing Dominic giving you nightmares regardless of how you felt about him. It feels very railroady and while the 3rd book has a much more ‘epic’ scope I lost quite a lot of interest when it turned out I was forced to act like a mentally unstable teenager with personality stats doing almost nothing to prevent that. You can say YOUR Keeper was just a normal kid, but “normal” in this case seems to only mean what I’d consider totally out of character for how I was playing my char. This railroading started from the forced “intervention” event that I can’t remember if it was on book 2 or this one and just kept escalating with more and more control being taken away from the player in regards to how to actually react to events without getting told but thou must go insane. You could say this is a story mechanic meant to show how the Keeper is losing their marbles and getting swept away by the artifact and the background plot but it doesn’t feel good for the player. I don’t like the woobie destroyer of worlds trope which this seems to be heavily pushing the Keeper towards becoming, it feels like the game is trying to force a failure state where you only have 3 horrible irrational choices and 1 “good” choice that is locked away.

I say this a shit ton, but absolutely everything depends on how well the recovery process is handled on the authors part. The most recent update starts something for that, but at this point, it’s gotten to the point where the player should not be at railroaded into any more of this stuff. I’m happy with how it’s gone so far, but we’ve hit rock bottom, The player should have the option to start pulling their character up, and it shouldn’t be locked behind anything mechanically complicated. I’m tentatively optimistic we’re going to start seeing that now more

Also I’d prefer the option to kill the empath who was involved in the Astrid incident, the one that seems to have gotten away scot free and is teaching her magic now for some reason, in the most weird way I’ve seen that sort of trauma handwaved away. I forgot her name since it’s been ages since I replayed this, but there was no option to will her bullshit away when you’re meeting her again.

Viewing scene files also seems disabled on the new site… Given how often saves get invalidated that will make it much harder to see the new content and I’d consider this a massive negative compared to Dashingdon. Is this author or site specific?
