Oh before the month ends I just want to say I HATE STACKED CHOICES. I decided to try it out for fun during my character creation bc I’d seen it a few times before and then four hundred lines of sunk cost coding later I realized I’m never touching it again.
You are making me want to write a character who just randomly starts speaking in verse.
Pentameter iambic I can speak,
Like Shakespeare in the modern century.
In adolescence, for the heck of it,
Or to show off, I’d really talk like this.
(That may be why nobody liked me much.)
Haha. I’m partial to trochaic tetrameter myself (although I like regular rhyming too), but sadly poetry is one of the things I have never learnt to reliably do in English (so I can’t even show off).
(Now, let me use Finnish, on the other hand…)
Time for the end-of-the-month’s recap:
I almost made it; I fought and clawed my way to the finish line, but a big brute by the name: Writer’s Block thumped me for about a week, and I ended up falling short.
I hope everyone has made their goals for the month; I am selfish and desire the agonies of defeat all for myself…
Uh huh … no.
I posted the support thread for February already, so see everyone there
Ahahahahaha. I really overestimated how much editing I’d get done. I’m… midway through Chapter Three. But, honestly, looking at my changelog, it does feel like I’ve done quite a bit, even if it’s not, yanno, half the game by any stretch.
I also managed to finish my parts of Diaspora, so waiting on cowriter to finish his, and then to do a bunch of code testing and so on before that goes out. Here’s hoping it’ll be soon. Goodness knows that game needs some editing, too.
I didn’t manage this. But I’m not so far away!
We’ve already got one that he can have
Sorry again, haven’t been posting that frequently. Hope everyone here had a fruitful January! I will be giving updates in more detail in next month’s thread, so see you there!
Being a slightly more sporadic forum presence these days means I’m a week late to +1 this.
The level of editorial attention and feedback Aletheia gave to Chapter 1 of Stormwright is only paralleled by…well, by my editor at CoG. And saying that is a testament to how diligent and professional that CoG editor is.
Thanks for all you bring to this community, Aletheia.
Luckily, in my profile photo I’ve burned down low enough that I can’t readily be recognized.
