Hey all. Awhile back I purchased all the Hero games on steam and love them all. I have a ton of hours in each, and I was trying download them to my mobile so I could read on long trips, but I couldn’t find any option on the store? Is there a way? Or am I just SOL?
When you want to use it from the choicescript Site, you only have to send your receipt from Steam to them per E-Mail. Then you will get an answer quite fast. I did that for my Android buys.
Nope, you had the right of it, CoG totally lets you transfer your purchases to any of the webstores they have control over! All’s ya gotta do is send them an email with your receipts from whichever web merchant you purchased their games from.
The steps to doing so are detailed below:
Step 1: You need to email support@choiceofgames.com
and provide the following information:
- The email address you want the games to be associated with
- No, it doesn’t have to be the same email you use to log into the forum, it’s whatever email you want it to be associated with.
- Receipts or other proof of purchase for the games
For Google Play, you can find receipts using the steps below:
- If you didn’t delete them, you might still have your receipts in your inbox
or
- Go to payments.google.com while signed into your Google account
- Find “Other purchase activity”
- Click on “View Purchases”
- Select an order to see your receipt
- Any games you purchased through Google Play should show up there. Chrome Webstore purchases will be there too.
- Take a screenshot of the receipt and attach it to the email you send to CoG
For the Apple App Store, you can find receipts using the steps below:
- On your device, open the App Store
- Select the profile icon in the top right
- Select your name, you may need to use Touch ID or enter your passcode to authenticate.
- Select Purchase History
- Find and select the purchase you want to see the receipt
- For purchases older than 90 days, make sure you’re on the correct month and year that you purchased it as the App Store shows your most recent purchases first, so you may not see your receipt at fire
- Take a screenshot of the receipt and attach it to the email you send to CoG
For Steam, you can find receipts using the steps below:
- Open Steam
- Click your name in the upper right hand corner
- Select Account Details.
- Under Store and Purchase History click the link to View Purchase History
- Find the purchase you want and click on it to see the receipt
- Take a screenshot of the receipt and attach it to the email you send to CoG
For the Amazon App Store, you can find receipts using the steps below:
- Go to Your Orders
- Click View Order Details next to the order.
- Search through your orders until you find the order you want
- Click on Order Details to see the receipt
- Take a screenshot of the receipt and attach it to the email you send to CoG
After this, you can download the omnibus app on either the Google Play Store or the Apple Appstore (there is currently no omnibus for the Amazon Appstore or Steam, sorry!). Access any game you know you’ve already purchased and there should either be an option to restore your purchases in the app itself, or when you enter the game.
Then it’s just a matter of typing in the email you associated the purchases with (as detailed above) and voila! You now have access to your previously purchased games! Pretty cool, right?
I would also like to add that you could link your Steam account to the Choice of Games webstore without the need to sending the receipt bought from Steam.
Though I haven’t tried the Steam > CoG webstore > Omnibus though. I’m not sure if this works?
Whaaaaaa?? I didn’t even know that that was an option now!!
Thanks a lot for the super-useful post, @rose-court! It’s so helpful to have all the steps laid out like that.
Also, thanks for clarifying that we can get games bought on another platform transfered to the omnibus. I wasn’t sure if that was possible or if all we could do was play from the website version on mobile.
I’ve tried and it didn’t work for me (as you said, I could link my Steam account with the website just fine, but then restoring the purchases from the omnibus doesn’t work).
the ómnibus only work with your account in cog website but not with steam, i have tried too with no luck
She’s not saying that she tried to directly link her Steam account to the omnibus.
What she said is that she was able to use her Steam account to get access to the webstore—presumably under the same email account. However, she could not subsequently use that very same webstore access to restore her purchase on the omnibus (I believe despite using the same email account that now had access to the CoG webstore).
and thats precisely what i mean, you can restore steam games in website App but you cant restore steam games in the ómnibus…
