i might have interpreted things wrong because i read the POV as soon as it was posted and it was like… super late where i live but i got the impression that seven doesn’t actually hate the MC. it seemed to me like they were trying to hate MC/convince themselves that they do. and they were doing a really good job at it lol
either way it was still very… ugly. whether they actually hate the MC or are just trying to. it was a lot. reading it actually made me feel bad

I feel like it’s rare to see a WIP as heavily emotionally engaging as this one, especially so early in its development. At least, I’ve never seen it haha. The conversations here and differences in opinion have just made that even more clear to me.
What a testament to Amy’s writing and character creation. There’s really something so special about Infamous and what she’s been able to do with her characters. Absolutely nuts to get to witness this happen.
I honestly love this: I’ve always been in love with music, and I’ve always felt like my family/friends never really supported my dream for it, so I relate with MC. I was so immersed into the story so quickly, and it’s still very early in development. The author is very talented, and I can’t wait for more updates.
I don’t think Seven hates the MC. They want to hate the MC because it’s easier than processing all their mixed emotions. If you’re civil with them they hate it because they think it’s an act. They’d rather you lash out at them, as they do, than admit you’re not a terrible person and that they’re at fault too. It’s easier to blame someone else than take responsibility for your own actions.
That pov also shows how ‘obsessed’ Seven is with the MC now that they have to see each other all the time. They think everything the MC does is to get back at them (and it’s ironic really because that’s exactly how Seven behaves in game). If you pick the choice “I just thought it made the most sense”, they also hate it because you’re so rational and what you said makes sense. They don’t want logic, they don’t want kindness or you liking them, they want you to hate them because it justifies their hatred towards you.
Seven is in denial and they need someone who helps them sort out those emotions in a healthy way. From what I gathered from that pov, they also miss who they were before all of this and they don’t really know this new version of themselves they’re forced to become. It’s heartbreaking really.
After seeing that pov it almost feels wrong to share a bus with Seven because of how much worse it gets for them. I honestly wonder if a contest is the right environment for Seven and the MC to mend their broken relationship when Seven has still so much to work on.
And I’ve my reservations about Avina but they literally did nothing wrong in that pov.
And don’t forget the producers, that will try to get as much ratings as possible by digging for every scrap of information about what who and when.
There is also a preview post of part 2, where some TV announcer starts talking about their past relationship, and Seven sighs and starts taking a shot. So it’s only get worse. Way worse.
I think the more MC will try to keep distance, the more they will be pushed in seven direction. Imagine how seven will react to that.
The pov shows that Avina saw them when Seven was still in Mc’s band. They already knew about them before they joined, probably how they recruited them after initially hearing the breakup.
Sure. I might have assumed that too if it was my friend, but it’s off the way they replaced Mc in such a similar way after accusing them of such a serious thing. Regardless of finding Seven at their lowest, I’m talking about how they’ve went about their relationship having somewhat of an idea of how Mc affected Seven. With an outsider perspective and then doing exactly what they were claiming is wrong, definitely a red flag to me.

I’m one of the people who currently have reservations about Avina, but I’m pretty sure they like the attention Seven gives them I wonder if it’ll be just like how MC used to note how ‘nice’ it is that ‘Seven loves/cares about them too much’ in the flashback. So… curious how it’ll go.
Also, I thank God everyday that I stopped being a Sevenmancer from when the demo dropped… lol. You guys have it rough.
This Seven POV really reinforces my idea that Pansy Waltz by Shakey Graves is, like, the perfect song for them and MC. Especially if your MC views their former relationship as having been a bit of a mutual codependency and the end of it as being both of their faults. Infamous is great to associate songs with considering the whole theme of the game!

That’s absolutely true, still, that doesn’t preclude that environment from being the least ideal one. But it’s just an observation, we wouldn’t have this story without BOTB.
I agree with you and I’m the first to say that Seven is petty, selfish, and self-absorbed. But if before I was more inclined to share bus with Blake because it was less stressful for my MC, now, as a reader, having that extra knowledge about Seven, I know that it’s healthier for Seven as well and I feel more validated in my choice. Am I still going to experience both routes once the game is out? Absolutely, that’s the fun of if.
Perhaps more possessive than controlling?! In any case, it wasn’t a healthy relationship with the codependency and all that.
And it wouldn’t have been fair for either of them to give up their dream of becoming a singer for their partner’s sake. I think I said this before, but in the end the vote was a blessing in disguise, as singers they’re better off in different bands.
I’m invested and love Seven as a character, they make me feel the full spectrum of emotions and they’re so well written. As a ro however, I’m not quite there yet. Something is missing, that I can’t quite pinpoint, for me to fully be into their ‘romance’. But I might change my opinion as the story progresses. Who I’m starting to really like is G. At first, I thought they were very cliché but the more I learn about them the more I like them. I’m sorry Victoria but I’m stealing your partner. And no, I don’t care about my MC being a homewrecker.
