Yes, on a personal level, I agree that August is ASD vibes (and it’s one of the reasons I like them so much) but I will say they seem respond pretty well to the more passive flirt options? They’re not uninterested by any means; by the end of chapter 3 it was pretty clear to me they had a thing for the MC.
I’ve never chosen the more direct flirt options because they feel leery.
Just a heads up that this feels a little infantilizing.

I still have no clue who actually helped August out of the mess - you could hire a cab, sure, and that would work, but where were they? I know Iris ditched to hang out with Jenna and the trio was together, but at this point I just got resigned to such mess happening eventually - it just seemed there would eventually be a sign it’s not nearly as rosy as it seems in the kingdom of Danes. Same with Viktor. Sure, he’s a cunt and threw Victoria and MC under the bus, but that was… expected, to be honest. I remember many reality shows where they did worse than that.
I picked direct ones because they’ve fit my duo more character-wise, and it just seems like they constantly freeze up or ignore these. Felt very weird, and eventually I stopped. I already did not particularly like shy-bold flirt variations, but this response just solidified it.
Better than I expected. I mean, MC froze up in the mess, and they seem like they’d be used to such things. I wonder if August visited rallies of their parents.

Not many people are asked to look after their older cousins unless something is severely wrong.
It mentions seeing “a dark haired” person off by some cars. If you go to check up on them, it’s August and they let you share their cab with them back to the hotel. August didn’t need help to get back to the hotel, but it appears that no one in the band even checked in on, with or about them. If you don’t spot them, MC has no idea that they weren’t with the band. Which again is extremely shitty band behaviour. Wouldn’t you at least try to make sure everyone had gotten out of a potentially very dangerous situation before leaving? If not able to do that, wouldn’t you at the very least make sure the two people you’d lost track of knew to keep an eye out for each other? At that point, MC’s phone was still powered up and on, so they don’t even have that excuse, and once MC checks their phone the next morning there are messages to and about them but still (we have to extrapolate, but I find it likely) none about August, who also went straight back to their room and didn’t check in with the band.
Seriously, I want to give my MC (she plays) a guitar and have her and August compete on their own as a White Stripes like duo.

Maybe they’ve slept with G in the past, and now serve as the reminder of their rockstar era before they married Victoria for publicity and can’t do such things anymore? Or maybe they’re related to Blake.
This is what makes me think that Dakota may be in some way connected to Victor.

Ah yes, the optics of it all. Beats me atm. We know G met Dakota when they were first starting out in their career. So thatd put both of them in their teens still? Been friends for a long time at this point…maybe theyre associated with Heavenly Isle? Viktor maybe or someone else. We know they’re a nepo baby…and whatever they do for a living has ‘people lining up at their door’ every morning. lol IDK.

I didn’t get this vibe, actually. And in the flashbacks I’ve seen, Seven did care about the MC and their baggage. It’s just that Seven tended to think of Seven first, because they are so focused on and absorbed by their own feelings.
My impression is that the problem with past MC/7 is that 7’s need for constant reassurance and having someone with them all the time caused them to be overly dependent on each other. Any deep relationship will have some “visual” symptoms of co-dependency–it’s just the nature of committing to someone and tying your lives–but there has to be some “me time”. I think neither Seven nor MC ever had that time alone.
And I think that’s why Amy’s having history repeat itself with Avina and Seven, only this time it’s Avina needing the constant reassurance and Seven is feeding it even when they are getting annoyed by Avina’s clingyness (this is also shown in the POVs).
Agree on this. I hate wishy washy people, and I hate wishy washy characters even more. I’m still doing an O run because I made the character and like Orion, but it’s already getting old.
Anyway, I think G and V are a class of their own and really have no obvious comparisons. I think the only time that dynamic may come into play is when romancing G–do you want to just step into V’s role and follow them around or do you want your own career, even if it’s “less” than G’s? It may be easier if G and MC become a duet, but I’m not counting on that happening.

I think MC didn’t enjoy the idea - they seem very lonely, and lonely people often tend to be clingy and very dependent on other people. Being alone probably felt like shit to them, so there was no need or understanding of “alone time” from both sides - I doubt Seven and MC even wanted any given their constant loneliness. There’s already enough time which they were forced to spend by their lonesome.

But this statement assumes that G never cared about V enough to try and make it work. Yes, it was arranged, yes, it was for their careers, but at some point G must have cared enough to make it at least look convincing. And now? What is V but the donkey every tail gets pinned on? She’s too busy taking care of G to do more than keep her physical appearance up. Because G stopped caring however much they did at first when taking an active role in the marriage. It doesn’t have to be exactly like what MC and Seven had to be a parallel. The fact that MC was being asked to do all the emotional labour for each of them and for them together as a couple is enough like what V is being asked to do factually and career-wise for G for the idea of a parallel story-shape to be plausible.

Good point. You’re likely right about it, which is why the MC never complained (also why Seven never complains about Avina constantly crawling all over them).
MC was forced to get past that clingynes by being left alone and having no one, while Seven immediately hopped into Avina’s arms and went back to their old habits with “someone better”.
@AnneWest I’m still not really seeing a parallel between G/V and MC/7, but I get what you’re saying. It doesn’t work for me for a number of reasons, the first of which is that they were doing music together, and it wasn’t 7 leaving MC in their dust. Not until they left and they were already broken up, anyway.
My MCs (and I) would rather hook up with a rabid coyote.

I would not say MC really did. It’s just that now their clinginess is not physical, but emotional - it’s still there, especially in the cursive options, but now there’s not much outlet for it.
