That’s what I get from it, too. The relationship with Seven might have been toxic, but the friendship with the band feels pretty damned toxic to the MC, too. (again, I want to like your comment but am out of likes, dammit!)
I was shocked when the dad was worse. After the mother complaining about the dad actually having an emotion, I expected maybe he’d be supportive, instead of a blowhard asshole who slams the MC for embarrassing him. What an asshole.
I really hope this is a choice. I don’t think either of my MCs would actually call Lucy. If she calls them, fine. But they aren’t going to go begging for crumbs from her after three years of being ghosted.

Yeah what annoyed me about avina was the seven serenading them scene in front of my mc. So petty and not needed. And also the deleted scene of them I saw in the code. Plus some patreon stuff I’ve seen…they come across not…great in those scenarios as it were.

All of this. I didn’t like Avina once the bed-buddy bus scene was done, but it’s the Patreon stuff and deleted scene that really made me hate them.
Also, with Lucy, I wonder if she’s dying. I looked at all the content warnings for the game, and death and mention of death is listed…
I thought Amy said it wasn’t Lucy, but was someone “like” that? Maybe other family that is now around to help Lucy through illness?

To be honest, it seems that it was less toxic when it was just MC and Seven. Throwing shit at the wall and writing rap is easier when there’s only two of you and there’s no responsibility, no other people to take care of and baby, no need to worry about what fans and the press would think, no need to worry about going platinum.
They are extremely codependent and clingy, they can’t function without each other, but it’s not a bad thing by itself when your parents are as shit as MC’s are. Seven was probably the only person in Ivan’s life that showed him genuine affection and love, it ain’t surprising Ivan was hook, line and sinker the second he hugged him in that flashback. They could’ve become better, if given time and attention, but forcing shit on either of them just plain does not work, they freeze up and don’t change rationally and in a healthy manner.
Maybe that’ll be what brings MC and Seven together for a while. If anyone will be filming this from BOTB, I hope there’s an option to deck them in a jaw.
I assumed something was going on with Lucy, especially considering the little tidbit on the latest update with the comment regarding family news (or something like that), but jesus it would be so fucked up if the show brought that up for drama points 
if it’s another family member then I have no idea, cause I could expect some stupid drama live with the dad but obviously not chill convos.

This is why I so wanted to do the Seven route, especially with my depressofest MC. I feel like Seven is the only person who ever gave her genuine affection and love (which also doesn’t fit because she would have left the band when they booted Seven out, so I have to head canon the reason she would stay). The “friends” in the band don’t give her that–she feels like an outsider and a doormat for them, because Devyn and Iris care only about each other and Rowan only cares about himself. So she’s alone and in the cold. Her parents suck, Orion has (thus far) kept her at arm’s length and looks out for the band, not her. So having Seven be the only one who ever loved her and them coming back together would be so damned awesome. But Seven’s hatred makes it too difficult to play it that way and I just want my MC away from his nastiness… she has enough of that from everyone else, save Maya and Griffin (and sometimes Vic).
If the show tries to use something like that to hurt Seven, I think even my passivist wuss of a MC would punch someone. And probably hurt her hand…

For me Seven only works with Ivan and a heaping pile of headcanons. He’s still my durian boy, but a man’s patience isn’t infinite and I feel I’m slowly running out of it. But this crippling loneliness and the fact even his own band aren’t his shield and people who actually care about him start to really win me over to Seven’s side, especially after the bar stunt. These two are made for each other, and should go solo and get therapy - neither side seems like they even remotely care about their lead singers as people, not machines that produce bangers.
I just bet they will. Airing dirty laundry with ex-lover Seven ain’t as deep as they’re going to go.
But would Seven really care if something bad happened to him? I get the impression he was actually physically, as well as emotionally, abusive to Seven. Unless they somehow made up after Seven left the band.
Well, Ivan is part of a band that’s on the show, so sure they’d use that. Plus, it can be used to vilify the MC more and get sympathy for their chosen winner, Seven. Doing that is expected.
Then again, they’d be able to use family illness to dredge up even more sympathy and support for the actual chosen one. Get him to cry on TV over his ill relative would be ratings gold and no one would ever vote against Seven again.
I can see this, and it’d be hilarious.

Good thing my MCs don’t care, but I can just imagine the dramatic pan on the empty seats and my girlie and stupid son smoking a cigarette with a thumbs up. I feel bad for the readers who would have liked a nice family dynamic, but hey feel free to headcanon away.

Since Ivan already swears in every sentence and gives people the bird, it won’t be surprising to see him give a finger to his parents. Would love to see that, actually.
