Im just hoping my MC can literally not care about the Avina and Seven singing stuff, like uh huh yeah anyway you’re looking really nice today Gina. Also still can’t believe Seven is 27, once I learned this most of my desire to run through their romance immediately evaporated, you are almost 30 man please go to a therapist. Seven and MC get back together and the next time they don’t like something MC does they’ll ghost you again for another 2 years.

You’d think about how he reacted after the break up, he would speed run to get help. But nah.

The game will force you to care about Seven, but you can probably not give a damn about Savina if you aren’t trying to romance Seven. I just wish you could avoid any and all contact with Seven, Saint Avina, and their stupid band (though Pope and Kieran seem like they’d be fun if they could be extricated from Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.
Wasn’t it three years MC got ghosted? Orion has been with them for two years and I think the band just floundered after Seven left until Orion showed up.

omg, the seven shade is giving me life. reddit had a poll on favorite infamous ROs and the number person got ~200% more votes (205) than orion (78) at second place, while august, seb, and g were sitting at 20

I’m guessing it is because G is married, mostly. There’s an ick factor with the married one (though, they’re having problems, so it’s best if they break up… that’s what I keep telling myself, lol). Then again, Savina acts more married than the married couple, so maybe it’s just that they don’t like G. Pfft.

Tea. Honestly, Seven is just so petty and boring to me lmao. No shade to the author because I like this story, but that character in particular just served air. I tried to jump in and really like them for the drama of it all, but my MC was legit the only person to support them after getting kicked off of vocals and they hated them the most??? I was like bombastic side-eye “Um, okay babe. Now give me that tasty, painful, unrequited slow-burn with the only sane person in this game that could legit ruin my career—Orion”.

I like Seven because they’re an interesting character, I’m excited for their character arc, and want my angst and drama.
The interactions we’ve gotten with the other ROs aren’t as spicy as Seven’s, which besides the angst, is the other reason Seven is so popular. It’s best friends-lovers-enemies/rivals-??? and that has a lot of potential, people, including me, are excited for.
I like Seven. But I also want to clown on Seven repeatedly because God knows they deserve it.

The one I want to clown on is the one that accuses us of cheating, Blake (if I remember their name correctly).
Victoria will be my “cannon” romance (as long as she breaks up with Gigi. If she is only a poly route, then I’ll have to re-evaluate chosen RO’s.
I will play a Seven romance and friendship route, just to experience the character because like @Zest , I find the character to be an interesting character to study.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a character plummet down my rankings for such stupid reasons like Blake has. After the bus chat with them I was really interested in their character, but after their POV on Patreon dropped I just feel embarrassed on their behalf, and even more so after 2.2.
I even agree that UGW should’ve been put through over the band (shitty lyrics aside, but it’s not as if a lot of popular artists don’t have God awful lyrics), so I get why they’re angry. But, dude, you really think that a band with 60k monthly listeners in their very best months are the ones pulling the strings here? The ones who have been rejected by every label so far and can’t even afford to pay their manager are the ones with the upper hand?
Isn’t Blake supposed to have more industry experience? They know their own history with G and they have a better idea of how stuff goes on behind the scenes, so the fact that they’re so fixated on barely-coherent, minutely-successful MC being the enemy has been the biggest ick lmao. If there was even a hint of rationality in that thought process I’d be all over it

Okay, the thing is… I actually respect Blake more than Seven. It mostly has to do with something that happens in the update (not Savina or romance-related, more competition/show-related). Blake plays dirty, but he stabs you from the front. And I get the sense that his beef with MC isn’t personal. Not only that, but I find his bad lyrics kind of endearing? He tries and even if the result is suboptimal, he has the panache to make it work, which is why I will be very unhappy if the theory of him stealing MC’s lyric notebook ends up coming true.

In-universe though, everyone else who doesn’t know the band personally/doesn’t stan also think the same, so I just chalk it up to in-universe base level IQ (I do make fun of them still in my lyrics for the update) And even if Blake knows it’s G, there isn’t any way UGW can get at them. It makes sense to me that they would try to topple G’s Chosen One instead

I get why non-fans are going to agree that they cheated (I know they’re going crazy on Twitter rn), but I always interpreted other bands believing they did just being because Blake is unwavering on pushing that narrative, not out of independent thought, especially because of the conversation about why certain bands do/don’t believe it in 2.2.
And I know that going for the low-hanging fruit that is the band is easier than going after execs or G who seems impenetrable at this point in their career, that’s not what turns me off. It’s the insistence that MC/the band are behind it all, that they cheated and not that they have some kind of beef with G whose team is running this whole thing. In Blake’s POV they brand the MC/band as unassuming, unaware of what’s going on, and naive, but they’re also the evil masterminds behind UGW not initially passing the auditions? If they approached it more like just “I don’t care about you but you’re the obstacle in the way of my almost guaranteed success, and that is what makes you the enemy” then I’d be all for it, yk?

The problem with that interpretation is that iirc, 2.2 says Blake is not particularly well-liked by the rest of the cast. The update also suggests that it is simply more convenient for the competing bands to believe the allegations because they can’t be bothered to be charitable when there’s a trophy on the line (in addition to MC leaving the shoot with Victoria to see G)
I can’t really remember Blake’s POV that well, but if they think the MC is naive and unassuming, that suggests to me they know MC is a pawn. But you can’t win at chess without taking a few pawns. If the theory of G being the one to influence the results to get the Band in is true, that would still be considered cheating. Kind of like if someone gave an unwitting person test questions in advance and that person ended up passing. (I don’t recall Blake ever using the word mastermind to describe the Band.) That’s why my main MC has been hesitant to ever publicly insist on his innocence, especially after what G said in the dressing room (“Do you think you deserved that win?”)
