nope, everything before that works fine until that scene
I had a great time playing! It made me cry more than I’d like to admit and I’m very curious about Decorum’s backstory/how the MC and him originally met.
How often you compare things to food successfully made me hungry while reading lol
spoiler
It seems that Decorum was a disfavored prince who was locked away and mistreated… I’m wondering if he might’ve met a version of us that had already gone through time and was therefore aware of his existence… and him going back to save us started this cycle of us trying to save him- which makes everything much more tragic
At the very least there are more cycles than we’re aware of based on him in the ‘dream’ saying that he loved us more than every petal on every flower and letting it slip that we had originally said it to him. In general it hurt my heart that the MC was distrustful of everyone for seemingly no reason and then throughout the game they were literally betrayed by everyone besides like three people-- LIONET I TRUSTED YOU. Made me think “What was the point of saving them at all???” when it came to the cultists. I also didn’t really understand how the slave leader was able to summon 50 of those high class monsters- unless it’s going to be brought up again in future games :0
I am getting the bug where the RO’s name becomes “true” in the later part of the game as well, I chose the cisgender male RO
is it fixed for you now? You’d need to replay the game from chapter 1 to check ![]()
EDITED: I fixed it. It was a problem with chapter 4.
Thank you for this amazing story Dazial
IMPORTANT
!!!Guys, does the Acorn/Melon name error set to ‘true’ pop up for you as well in the game after chapter 9?!!!
![]()
- Yes. I chose cisgender male.
- Yes. I chose cisgender female.
- Yes. I chose another gender.
- No.
No, thank you for reading ![]()
So. Uh. I ruined the experience of my own game for everybody.
I’m really sorry.
I had a major bug in chapter 4 that changed the name Melon/Acorn.
Thank you to everyone who pointed it out. I guess on the bright side there’s no more bugs now!
(clueless).
Yes… about that…
I don’t know if it was on purpose but for the trans man option (more specifically choosing the “maintains genitals”) the people on the table were women and our masked stranger sometimes was using “she” this one was at the very beginning.
Sadly, I don’t have time right now to replay… sorry.
Yes that should be fixed now, sorry about that.
Will the game get published? Or will you keep it free to play? If the former I’ll wait till the games official release before I give it a go. Congrats for now for finishing the game, that’s quite the accomplishment.
@Dazial you should update the featured topic in your profile with this new WIP thread.
If I may ask, what does this part mean? Does it mean that the word count increases drastically if you play as a nonbinary character?
Oh wow, this was such a ride from the beginning to the end. I was on the edge of my seat during the intense scenes, especially the moments with the Leader. I appreciate how tight the plot is too.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story. I look forward to the sequel!
Hi! I think this will probably sound rude no matter how I phrase it, but did you use AI to help you write portions of this story? Because reading through the cuboids, and mashed potato hands, and wood being covered in caramel sauce to list just a few, it was giving off alarm bells.
I was trying to figure out if it was meant to be written in an intensely food-focused way that maybe went over my head, but then there would just be fragments that seemed unaccounted for, like:
You grip the cup harder. “(Unintelligible).”
Again, I’m not sure if that went over my head but it seemed out of place. I don’t want to unfairly accuse anyone so I wanted to ask you directly, but realised there was no subtle/nice way to ask if someone is using AI to help in their content creation, without crediting/acknowledging the AI involvement ![]()
Hello there, did you use generative AI to produce some parts of your IF?
OP, if you used AI to generate the story, you should be honest about it.
If you didn’t and this is a case of so much getting lost in translation, let us know, we quite likely have some native speakers in the community that can help you out.
he mods will maul all of you guys, the mods have stated that you should dmed them instead of making accusations like this.
I’m sorry, the mods are gonna maul us?? WTF dude… I asked a question, tried to approach it as even-keeled as I could think of, when asking someone if they used AI to assist their writing. I specifically said I wasn’t accusing and wanted to give them an opportunity to explain what I saw as some pretty glaring examples.
My next step was gonna be to flag the story/alert a mod, but I didn’t think to go there first before bringing it up to the author. Is there a big mod post on the subject that I’ve missed?
We’re not going to “maul” anyone, but everyone, please take a deep breath.
If you have evidence that a story is AI-generated, the appropriate method of reporting it is to email submissions AT hostedgames DOT org with your evidence. Mods are not equipped to handle AI generation accusations.
It was a joke lol, I thought using the word maul as in what bears do would be pretty telling.
Also adding on to your second point about not knowing, it’s written down somewhere as I was in a similar situation and they told me that’s what you should/have to do.
