Hello, everyone.
I used to be quite active on this forum, but in the recent past, I’ve taken a step back and focused on other things in life. One of those other things was helping develop Icarus, the work of non-Choicescript interactive fiction that I’m sharing today.
Do you remember Wesley K. Clark? You know, the four-star general, the man who saved Kosovo from ethnic cleansing, SACUER, 2004 candidate for president? Well, I certainly remember him, and today, I come bearing a critical question: what might have happened if he had won the presidency in 2004?
Icarus uses the basics of Dan Bryan’s online Campaign Trail game as its base, coupled with some major coding improvements that offer hundreds of CYOA questions and outcomes, exploring the time that America almost found its salvation… or perhaps, dodged a major bullet.
You can play the mod here. Enjoy!

Did you promote this in the official sub reddit for the campaign trail. I think alot of ppl would interested in the game. I always see ppl posting mods for the original game in that subreddit
I think you should post this in the TPH discord. The target audiences overlap greatly.

I’m not sure that I know what the TPH is
The People’s House (Hosted Game, released last year).
No, but it is completely free online
This actually sounds really interesting. I’m familiar with Campaign Trail stuff, but the idea of expanding it with way more CYOA depth is pretty sick. The alt-history angle with 2004 is especially cool, that election really feels like one of those huge “what if” moments.
Definitely curious to see how deep the branching goes and how much player agency there is. I’ll check it out.
Congratulations on Icarus winning Best Gameplay at the TCT Awards
