Elya bows from atop her horse. "The pleasure is all mine, Baron Balaban.
He is a Count. Great update as always.
Anyway i find weird Leadership MC doesn’t have some moment, like they had it in the first game during the Belos’s Sally (where we can save more knights compared to the other two MC), or during the Battle of the Atiming River (where the multiplier for boosting our army centre is greater).
A few Vedran suggestions, options to maybe try and put him into a better prison cell? Less evil deep dungeon and more gilded cage, have somebody give him a shave and a haircut or whatever? Although of course that runs into would cold Elya even approve of that? Or of course you could just go behind her back and quietly order it. Maybe order guards to be stationed at his cell 24/7 without telling them exactly why the sudden increase insecurity? And maybe his respect level should factor into whether he follows through on his threat or not? Plus the other stuff
There are Horse Archers in the game?!?!
Holy shit thats epic I really wanna see how we could counter against steppe-like armies (even though Im a mongol fan), I mean our rangers could definitely wreck them but terrain would play a big role on the battle.
Really looking forward to the update Intense Throat Singing
The Vedran redemption arc is very interesting. I wonder if he and Obren will bury the hatchet, or even get back together, if they both survive. That being said, I think it should only be available to Marshals that take him on campaign, and come into ITUO Chapter 2 with 3 or more Vedran Respect.
Obren, like the other characters, depends on your Marshal for his appearance. He might actually have black hair if your Marshal is tanned/light brown with black hair. Rade is the only weirdo who always has gray eyes.
Vedran would probably drown the enemy in his tears.
What matters to me more is that the Marshal has more chances to be proactive about trying to prevent it, whether it actually succeeds or not is a completely different story
As for mounted archery, even today at Naadam festivals in China and Mongolia, mounted archers can only maintain accuracy and power at a distance of 20–30 meters. Due to the intense jolting of the horse and the limitations of generating force while on horseback, the lethality of mounted archery is actually far inferior to that of foot archery. This is also why, once the enemy falls into a pre-set trap, Mongols would immediately have their mounted archers dismount and shoot on foot. A composite bow can deliver sufficient density and striking power only when used from the ground.
Steppe armies have always been composite forces. Relying on mounted archery alone would only lead to the fate suffered by the Xiongnu and the Turks of Asia Minor—being driven into a corner by Han cavalry or Crusader knights, and then slaughtered to the last.
In addition to mounted archery and charging, the Mongols also employed several specialized tactics. For example, they would drive panicked cattle or horses into enemy lines to create openings. In certain extreme situations, they even sent captured enemy soldiers forward, forcing them to charge at their own comrades, thus causing hesitation and costing the enemy precious moments. If the opposing force was too strong, the Mongols adopted feigned-retreat tactics to lure the enemy into pursuit, so that “the enemy, believing the city has fallen and pursuing without restraint, runs into the concealed cavalry and is often destroyed.”
Veldran: I should have shadowed you instead of my twin.
What are you talking about that’s not the lesson you’re supposed to learn. Find your own path . Vedran is such an interesting character. From what I saw in the first chapter I didn’t think he’d turn so quickly and be vulnerable in the second chapter. Maybe he is worth investing being nice in. If he was gonna be a problem alive in the second book I’d pretty much pick the option to kill him everytime in the first one. The marshall has so many problems already thank you very much.
The Obren scene. Omggg. 10/10. “You’re freezing.” “You’re boiling.” “I have the perfect solution.” Ok Obren, you smooth bastard. I love how clumsy they are with each other but then slowly growing comfortable. Then a very anime accident scene happens. “y-you brute!” says 6ft+ tall very intimidating man. Marshal gap moe is real. I have never wanted two if characters to progress their relationship more than these two in the past years. They’re so cute.
Someone take all of Elya’s pain and double it and give it to Rade. Actually no. Quadruple it. She may not have been born to be a queen but she sure is more competent than the rest of her family.
